Helix: The True Hero

What is the Spirit of a being?
Is it the willingness to continue forward even though things may seem inevitable?
Is it the brightness of all things?
Is it remembering things that may seem forgettable?
Here is my interpretation:
If you listen closely to the waves of the sky
You can hear the faint whisper of days gone by
You can feel the touch of those you hold dear
Giving you the strength to repress your deep fears
You feel suddenly uplifted, as if you were light itself
You feel the grace of life, of sanity, of health
But deep inside, as you twirl in the morn
You feel somewhat empty, as if your spirit had been torn
You sink to the dust, wondering why this may be
Ad then you realize what you couldn't previously see:
What comes and what goes, is not nearly as great
Because you know in your "spirit".....that you are too late.
*Cough*
