Well it really depends. Some of society would rather stay out of voting and some like voting. I dislike it because half of the time the people I vote for lose from not enough votes. Or they are being blackmailed by a higher power, etc. It might or might not change anything that happens in today's society or next generation but it really waste time. Time I would rather use with something else I would like to do.

yes but that would mean rebulicing would always win beacause demorcrates are mostly minoirty or poor people which is not right it taking away people right to vote

O-o WTF
Firstly, voting IDs would be showing your drivers license or some other form of photo ID when you show up to vote. I doubt that anyone over 18 doesn't have some form of ID. This would prevent illegal aliens, criminals and minors from voting as well as helping to stop other frauds such as people voting multiple times. However the question in this is would it be effective?
I really have no idea where you are getting this poor thing from. I mean even poor people have photo ID, and if actual voting ID cards did need to be made they likely would be free or at a low charge. It has nothing to do with rich or poor, how do you even get that? The income and race of a person has very little to nothing to do with an ID...........so yeah...I don't really see your point.

Exactly my point why would you want to create new ones when our Driver's License or School ID's should be enough. Point proven.

voting is supposed to be anonymous, anyhow, why would they force you to have an ID for it?

To prevent voter fraud. Voting is not anonymous. You register yourself when you go to the voting stations so that each individual gets only one vote. Through voter fraud, one individual may get multiple votes.
To say that Voter ID Requirements are a detriment to the poor is a misstatement. It is a detriment to the lazy. In most states, people of a certain income may get free ID's. In addition, most states (and for federal elections, all states) provide absentee ballots, which would be immune to the ID requirements. The way I see it, anybody who this would 'prevent' from voting probably would not and should not be voting anyway.
I am for voter ID requirements, by the way, if that was unclear.

Yeah, firstly how would it stop minorities. That is a stereotype that all minorities are poor. Secondly, even if you did have to buy it the ID would only cost around 20$, 30$ maximum. o-o Not a steep price considering that it would be able to be used for the next 4 to 10 years. I don't really think that would be much of a deterrent. So no, I don't think it would stop minorities or the poor. I have yet to see how you think it would stop them either.

You implied it. o-o Not very subtly either. Anyways I have yet to see how you think having voting IDs will possibly deter people from voting.

o_o The writer was probably elaborating upon what his own view of the outcome would be, however such an opinionated and quite honestly unintelligent article lacking even the most common of sense should not be taken seriously. The only effective way that photo IDs would stop the poor from voting would be if a heavy fee was placed for getting one, which is not likely. In short it is good to read articles and digest what is inside, however don't become a sponge and merely absorb the knowledge, rather think it through for yourself. I mean honestly, unless they cost around 100 - 200 dollars, in which case even the middle class are going to not show up come election day, then almost anyone can go to vote. Likely they will be significantly cheaper than that, possibly entirely free.
