Creating Image Signatures

Welcome to the forums! This is a guide to putting an image in your signature. (Designed for Windows rather than Mac but you can adapt it yourself.)

Please don't be intimidated by how big this guide is. It's much shorter than it looks. (It's just big because of the images.)

Firstly, the limit for a signature is 500 pixels wide by 250 pixels high. Please do not exceed that limit or your signature will be edited by a Moderator.

This guide is designed for if you want to upload an image from your own computer. If you want to use an image from the Internet, right-click the image and click "Properties". On the screen that comes up you should find the URL of the image. Scroll to the last post of the guide to find out what to do with that URL.

NB: Please do not try to upload your image directly to this site as you will be limited to only 2kb. If you use this guide, the limit is 1.5Mb (the limit on ImageShack).

Ok, here we go! Apologies if these images stretch your forums, but I've left it so that it's easier for you guys to see.

You need to start by clicking on USER CP in the banner at the top of your screen:

When you click that you should see a screen like the following, where you will need to click "Edit Signature":

Once you've done that you should come to a screen like this:

Your version won't have the signature preview like mine does... yet... but you will soon! Next you need to scroll down to see this part of the screen:

If you only want to put text in your signature, you can type it in the large "Your Signature:" box and click "Save Signature". If not, scroll down for the rest of the guide.

Go to http://imageshack.us/ in a separate window:

Click "Browse" to search your computer for the image you want to use. Once you find it, select it and click "Open":

You should have the image shortcut line shown as follows. If that's the case, you can click "host it!":

It should then say "uploading..." and it may take from a few seconds to a few minutes to upload the image. When it's finished you should end up with the following screen. If the image thumbnail doesn't show, you need to try uploading the image again.

I've selected the URL that you should be using where it says "Direct Link To Image". You'll need to copy that URL (CTRL+C) and return to your "Edit Signature" section.

You need to paste the URL in the "Your Signature:" box within [IMG] tags as shown in the above image by the green arrow.

It shouldn't matter, but I always delete the "http://www." in the "Option 1" box as shown by the red arrow, just in case.

Finally, click "Save Signature" and you should be done! If there are any other problems, please Private Message me. :) Enjoy your new signature!

As an extra, if you want to put your image in the center of the page, put [CENTER] tags around everything in the "Your Signature:" box.

How to change your Signature:

1. Go to http://www.imageshack.us/

2. Click 'Browse' and it will bring up your Pictures.

3. Double click the image you want as your signature or avatar and click 'Host it'

4. Depending on the size of the image, time varies. If its a large image it could take a few minutes, if its small it will only take a few seconds. Signatures and avatars shouldn't take that long.

5. Once the page has loaded it will have a whole lot of small boxes with codes in them. Scroll down to the bottom and copy the very last code. It should say "Image Code" next to to the code for your signature, and "Direct Link to Image" for avatar.

6. Go back to KH3.org, click 'User CP' and look around the panel on the left, one of the options will say ' Edit Signature' click that. Click "Add Image".

8.Paste the code and hit OK, then hit 'Update My Signature' then your done.

To change the avatar, you'll go through the exact same process but you'll click 'My Controls' go down to 'Edit Avatar Settings' and paste the code in where it says 'Enter URL'

Avatars can be no bigger then 100 x 100, and signatures can be no bigger 500 x 200. (Correct me if i'm wrong on that somebody.)

How to Get a Signature:

Find the Signature you wanna use, right-click it, and click Save As.

Now, go to an Image Upload site (Ex: Tinypic, Photobucket, or Imageshack) and click Browse. Find the picture you've uploaded, and double click.

Wait for it to upload, then find the Image code. It will have something like:

[img]http://blahdeblah.com/lalalala[img]

Copy the code, and return to KH3. Go to "User CP" located in the top right of the screen. Next, go to Edit Signature.

OK now, paste the Image code into your signature space. Say a guy named "Bob" created it, so also type in "Credit to Bob" in the signature space.
