Asking if God exists or not is like asking someone if they are in love. It's not something you can see or produce evidence of. What you can and do see is the effects of a person claiming they are in love, and what they do to support that belief/feeling.

Or as the Oracle said in The Matrix, "It means know thy self. I wanna tell you a little secret, being the one is just like being in love. No one needs to tell you you are in love, you just know it, through and through."

In other words, knowing if God is real is just like being in love. No one needs/can tell you that God exists, you just know it, through and through.. via faith produced from subjective mystical experience that serves as a measure of evidence for the individual privy to such mystical experience.

Such evidence may be subjective, however it supports the belief of the individual which in turn produces faith in such belief, and leaves such a person with a choice to follow what they believe has been proven to be true to them.

It seems difficult to directly prove that God exists to each individual, as most times it takes a direct connection to God via mystical experience to prove that God is actual. If one fails to experience such mystical experience or a form of such, then why would they have any reason to believe God exists?

Well, i'm not sure about a single god, i believe that there are many. No, it's not what you think, it's what you believe. Is it possible that there's a religion that's 'the right one'? maybe it's not discovered yet? Maybe not, but i'm not going to limit myself to ones that i don't particularly believe in. There are more religions then you know, and limiting yourself to ones that you know about is very close minded, and one of my goals in life is to stay as open minded as possible.

SD42: My religion isn't my own. I thought it up, but me and a couple friends share the same views, even without talking about it beforehand. ^^;

Well, i agree. Ancient priests did do that, only to be proven by the fact that the original journals were found, but people got black from where they decided to settle, time, and adaptation. that's something totally different.

I'm a severe agnostic. I need hard facts to believe something...although I don't totally rule out the existence of a 'God' - as some things can't be explained via science or logic.

I believe that faith indoctrinates people...it's something that was brought into existence as a 'crutch' for mankind's fears, regrets and what not. Religion is a vessel for supposed respite/solace.

About the only religion I don't mind is Buddhism; as they do not believe in 'one God' (which has been the cause of much heartache and bloodshed among religions - the argument of who God 'belongs to').

People blindly follow faith. So much wrong has been committed in the name of God.

Well, the big bang is the generally accepted theory. Which seems to be pretty accurate seeing as galaxies are moving away from a central source at a massive speed (like they'd been propelled by a massive explosion). This is the start of everything...as for new species - it could well have been a comet, or stellar space clouds (nebula's and such)

I think it came from the combination of water, oxygen and other elements.
And the elements came from the effects of the Big Bang.
And the Big Bang started from something smaller than and atom, containing the 4 most powerful sorces of the universe, exploded and the universe expanded.

I believe that there is a God who created the entire Multi/universe. And it's not a simple matter of proof that give me this belief. Its on thing. Faith. Just go outside and look at the world around you. All the plants and animals. Just look at how beautiful and delicate nature is, and it isn't just Earth, the entire universe is very fragile. I personally can't believe that something as complicated as this happened "by chance". There had to have been someone/thing who created all this. "Intelligent Design" is a lot easier for me to except than "pure coincidence". I just like to say that God made the Big Bang happen ;) (He snapped his fingers or lit a fire-cracker or something.)
I also love having something to look forward to in life. Because I believe that when I die, I will go to Heaven(If I keep my life in line and believe in Jesus,etc.). I just can't imagine dying, and then nothing. I can close my eyes and have no sound around, but even then I can feel my concience(Thats a weird way to put it, but I think you know what I mean XD). It just makes me a lot happier to know I have an Ultimate Goal in life, no matter what.

An explosion creates chaos, and moves at various directions in a short amount of time via a swift increase in temperature and energy build up. Which is of course common knowledge. However to make this relevant, an explosion does not directly create chaos into order. In other words if an explosion creates structure and order, then perhaps The Big Bang Theory would be more conclusive. Do I argue against The Big Bang Theory directly? No, however it's difficult to imagine order being created from chaos/destruction as we view in our current world.

Science was created by people. Most of science starts out as theory. Even if you don't believe in the Bible how is it any different from other books. The Bible is also a big history book as well. It tells of the past.

I don't think it was a fairy tale made up when people saw what happened back in those times. I could say God started the universe with the Big Bang. I find that possible.

Either way, your decision to disagree is your right, I was simply making point that being an expert does not place you in authority to call the shots in an argument, or attack others directly. Even if you see it as the holy book that has no empirical value.

They are purely empirical, and the physical evidence they possess is staggering.

The existence of an Objective Deity is in no way dependant upon the content of man made scriptures. However the Bible is not directly invalid because of it's claims that an Objective Deity is Actuality. Lack of belief in an Objective Deity does not directly invalidate such a claim. A moral imperative directly commanded from such Objective Deity does not require your belief for validation, nor anyone else's. Your failure to care about what God says, ( due to a lack of belief ) does not disprove the argument. Or, your failure to address the Holy Book as valid for argumentation with supporting evidence does not directly invalidate any claims that proceed from a basis within the Holy Bible.

XD The Big Bang theory- Comet of matter made up of little objects that destroyed the Dinos and create a wasteland- perfect for a new universe like you said. :P God saw tha he needed to make life on Earth- big time. Simple. Rocks are not made. Same way money does not grow on trees.... for now. Rocks are bits of clusters made up of matter, which is made up of atoms, which is made up of protons and electrons, which is made from something we know today called graphite and another substance.

As for us, God did. Also might be human DNA that comes from the family genes and family history of looks and appearence.

No one made God. Big Bang is disproved because the Earth would move in a different pattern...don't ask me why, but scientists have come to this conclusion. Um God exists because if we had evolution we would still be evolving and there are missing link and missing links in those missing links to the evolution theory! Anything else needed to be covered...
