The Answer is: not really.

People tend to jump to the conclusion that if a disgruntled person fires a gun, and If they were even standing somewhat close to a game beforehand, that it's the game's developer's fault.

While, yes, violence in games might not be healthy 24/7, maybe once from time to time it can be even theraputic. Some people also say that game's with Mindless Violence (Manhunt, GTA, etc.) arent innovative, perhaps the violence in itself IS the innovative part. Being able to do things you wouldn't normally get away with is a normal human desire, so why not fulfill it virtually?

Also, if there is any theory that this midles violence was started by Violent Video Games, this is wrong. To quote Adam Sessler in his review with Jack thompson:

"Statistically speaking, violence rates have gone down with video game rates going up. And besides, scool shootings, rape, and things of the like have existed before even Pong"

But that's what iI think, anyway..
