Hi guys, i'll tell you a trouble that i had yesterday.

I was walking to buy some beer down the street, i was totally thirsty, and I had many desires of consuming it.

Suddenly, i saw that a old woman stumbled and fall down. I looked she was about 80. She broke her leg.

But i didn't care about it. I passed along and i bought the beer.
The question is:

DID I ACT WELL??

DID I ACT WELL??
No. Even I didn't know her, I'd still have called 999..if I was that old lady and someone walked past me when I needed help then I wouldn't like it.

Did you act well? No. Did you act normally? Absolutely. For every person in this thread who has said you would help the old lady: 99% of the public would NOT (and yes I'm insinuating that most of you wouldn't). Psychological studies have been done showing that even if a person is in dire trouble in a crowded public place, most people will NOT stop to help that person. It's just human nature not to.

Not being in that situation right now, it's easy to look at it from an outside perspective and say you'd do this and that, but when it comes down to it... chances err on the side that you will do nothing.

Food for thought.

I think i can say that ALOT of people wouldve done the same as you. I know i wouldve. Am i proud of it? No, but thats the truth. People in todays society just arn't that friendly anymore. Sorry.

You did well? No. But as Kain said, it's human nature. You don't even know who to trust these days.

Honestly, I WOULD have helped her. I've done it a few times already. It kind of feels like a need of passing by, you know, not spending your time helping unknown people, but in the other side you feel like helping the ones who need it.

Point is: Gazillions of other people wouldn't have help her. So you're not alone.

I was going to say "well this is what's wrong with today's society" but then I thought about the story of the Good Samaritan. This has happened throughout history. It doesn't make it right but it does makes a person who can put it aside and go and help someone in need, pretty special.

I am not sure. Here where I live there are many reports of old ladies tricking younger people of their money or worse.....demonic vampires that look like old ladies. These things are real here. But, like any good person you should help the old lady.

edited: I hope no one things I am crazy about the demonic vampires part. Many sightings here.Creeps you out.

You sounded so convincing, Enoch

If it was me, i really would have helped the (unreal) old lady
because i trust everyone.
People have tolled me that it will be my downfall....but ah well.
