10 years after the adventures of the previous story, TK and Kari decide to go back to the digitalworld one last time. They then find out that they could fuse with their digimon. So TK and Patamon formed Angemon and Kari and Gatoman formed Angewoman...

However, they were attcked by a digimon known as Countmon. (a Vampire)
He bites Angemon on the neck and Angemon forms into "Shadow Angemon"
Countmon bites Kari too, and she forms Vampire Angewoman. The two then kill COuntmon, but afterwards they turn evil. With their new powers they decide to take over the Digital World with Iron fists.

The only thing that can save the world now is the next group of Digedestined...
