OK so basically, state what you believe is Humanity's true purpose. Please don't drag God into this, as no offense, I want it to be a completely thought out belief that you ahve formulated all by yourself. Many people I've seen who I ask this question, just spit out something that their local priest told them to believe. Before I state my beliefs, I need to make them more complete, and with more proof, so would somebody start the debate for me?

according to human nature and the nature of all life around us it would seem our impulse is to reproduce and build our exsistance
why?
we'll never know
tho in these modern more complicated times it seems some human minds can oppose this
but in majority building a speices tends to be the main subconsicous goal

Humanity doesn't have a purpouse imo.
The universe doesn't either, its just there, by chance we managed to get here and now we have to fight to stay here.
All we do in lie is to survive, with no greater purpouse.
think of it like tadpoles. They are tiny, they do very little and just seem to be there, humans are the same :P

Humanity's purpose is to live. We use life to it's fullest and do what we are planned to do. Such as religions teach us, be good and help others. We are all meant to learn and affect each others lives in one way or another. The point of humanity's existances is to prove to some higher power we can stop the violence, fighting, and discrimination. We are meant to prove we can be more then society makes us look like.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. why we are here. is still unknown to us humans. we will only know when we die. god will tell us. or we will remember everything after we die. are past lives and everything. we are here for we want to be.

My opinion is that we have no purpose. Or atleast no set purpose. Our purpose is what we make it, whether we are an assassin who is the tool of a rich merchant in ancient times, or God's missionaries, or simple minded farmers(no offense intended, just saying they don't have to worry as much about things as people like scientists)

I agree. We all determine our own individual goals and pursue them until we are satisfied.
Humanity as a whole though simple purpose is to work to make our world a better place.
We are to advance and progress and improve until all are satisfied with their existance.

"Eat a hearty breakfast.....For tonight, we dine in hell!"
lol, random quote. Anyways, I believe in just living, and living a good live. No suicide: that's the coward's way out.
I think that mostly, humanity as a whole wishes to live unsuppressed and leave behind some kind of legacy or some way to be remembered after they are pushing up daisies.
This defines much of human behavior. Why do people join teams and play their hardest, or create something of beauty, or make something that makes life easier (or more complicated)? They want to be remembered.
Although I wish some scientists hadn't done much. It would be a lot less I had to memorize in Chemistry and now in Physics.

If religion is not allowed to be mentioned here, then the answer will be simple:
The reason of humanity is that of any other animal on this world: To exist. Religion is the only way people can look forward to after death, without it, we are nothing more than very intelligent animals. Like all other animals, we live to exist, we live for ourselves, mostly, seeings how few ever get by their nature. To the end, we are a selfish race, something that is in our very fiber, our nature, our souls, if you will.
We are here to exist.
