the war has started between scientology (a religion built off the belief that a alien dictator named xenu killed billions of aliens on planet earth due to over population on their planets and the souls of these aliens are roaming the air giving us humans or thetans negative emotions. founded by a man who has once been quoted to believe starting ur own religon to being the real way of making money, has on several ocasions claimed things to be true and been proven wrong and by people who knew him well, put over as a mallicous and evil con man. also a very violent religion. it has been known to kidnapp, raid, stalk and possibly kill people who hold information on scientologys origins. also known to attack the scientific theory of psychology, being somthin other then dead alien spirits to give us emotions) and Anonymous (a group of internet hackers who are determined to free people of scientology and its apparent lies through public protests, internet demonstrations of media seized by scientologists and hacking any scientology website availible, all the while keeping every known member completely unknown)
i for one take anonymous side, tho i would never dream of acting on it
u can have ur own religion (or cult as anonymous believe) no matter how untrue it can be
but there are limits
its wrong to harm people whether it be physical or not just for giving people information about a group u r part
if ur so posistive its all true then shouldnt be alright with people investigating it
u should have nothing to hide
thats my opinion even tho it hardly matters in this situation
wat r ur views people...........
I'm most definitely on the side of Anonymous. I really.. dislike the beliefs of Scientology, to put it simply.

Alright that sounds almost like Stephen King's "The Tommyknockers", "Star Wars", "Star Trek" and SG-1 and SG- Atlantis" which is too awkward. I know that I have heard of Satanist but never any alienated cults. Thats news to my ears actually I don't know what this new belief is. Do you have an article or something to give me a new push into understanding what you are talking about into depth?.

Just go watch interviews with Tom Cruise.. he can explain it.. but seriously, Scientology seems more of a random ideology than anything else.. is there any substantial factual truth to it? Not as far as I can tell.. at least with other religious beliefs some are based within historical context or record of events had, or people that existed.. i.e. Christianity via Christ.
So I certainly have not been convinced of any substantial proof, or evidence to suggest the validity of Scientology.. it really falls in classification with other beliefs that have no substantial support.. either historical, or eventual that considers support.
I do not deny potential evidence for this series of beliefs.. however at this time nothing has been presented to me thus far to support it properly.

Scientology, huh?
My thesis: Scientology should be removed from the mainstream of human society.
Look, I'm not going to sit here and question people's religions and/or what they believe to be right and just in this world, but as a few members had already mentioned: There are lines to be drawn.
For one: The religion itself was created by a science fiction writer (meaning that he creates books and reports regarding untrue events in the spectrum of science, such as cloning humans or reaching the edge of the universe), Mr. L. Ron Hubbard. Now. since he was the one who "founded" Scientology, it can be labeled as a very true and vivid statement that the religion itself is, indeed, science fiction.
If a religion is created and composed of fictional origin, why do people abstain to joining it?
This is mainly based on the belief that people need direction in life. Be it a specific sentimental object, person, or religion, most, if not all people in today's rag-tag society, are in need of direction and guidance. Some people, such as Mr. Tom Cruise, have chosen the Church of Scientology to be their "guiding light", so to speak, and who are we to question them?
I'm am, however, NOT for Scientology and those who chose to follow it. I believe it to be animosity under the persona of what could be called "religion." It is based on science fiction that Scientology came into existence, and it will be science fiction that people will follow if they chose to befall themselves to such a religion.

lmao
People have the right to believe in whatever they want. But thats extremely dumb because people should believe in the truth. And Scientology is no way shape or form truth. A guy wrote books, and people took it out of context. End of Story. Honestly I knew there are dumb people out there...but come on.

... Why can't someone have a "different" religion and NOT get teased for it?
I find nothing wrong with Scientology and I just hope people will get it through their thick skulls that everyone has different beliefs and you should respect those beliefs, even if you do not believe in them.

I'm going to have contradict and support you here.
First of all, the support. People deserve the right to hold on to their beliefs because as far as I know, the majority of the world is religously "tolerant".
Now for the contradiction. Listen to yourself. First of all, I am very aware on your position, that you've practically invented a religion for yourself, and this is why you find scientology ok. Because, like yours, it was invented by a person who flat out is admitting they made it up. The person who wrote the books, wrote them on a science fiction basis and they were published as so. There was no divine revelation or coming of a prophet as a lot of the major religions today are(Buddhism, Mormon, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, etc...) It is because these people claimed to have been revealed the truth that these events can be compared as a religion. (Some people believe every religion is right, but the majority believe that they are profoundly following the true words of a higher being.) Just because they claimed to have been revealed such information, instead of basically saying they've made it up (even if the person who makes the claim may have just made it up). That right there is Scientology's major flaw...
Its all about the basis. No human can claim to know the truth because they just know it of their own accord. We are all the same(maybe not as in IQ), but as in people. We can all th ink the same way, and we all do the same things. The only way we can gain truthful information is by putting it in to our heads by research or hearing it from others. Its impossible to just know. Except of course, if its been revealed to you divinely. Other than that, you're just making stuff up of your own accord.
So its just the fact that its just pure fiction that people bash it. Not because its a "different" religion. They do because its a fictuous religion.

Just throwing this in there - everybody makes up their own religions. You believe what you want, you believe want you do believe in. You can't convince yourself to believe in a certain part of a religion when you really don't, so in essence, you've made up your own religions.
Jesus made up his own religion. Before then, there were no Christians.

Let me come in with my defense now. :p
Jesus only taught what the people of Israel failed to see. The followers of Jesus in his time were never called "Christians", that title came later on during a celebration of the pentecost were the disciples received the Holy Spirit. So in essense, Christianity is Judaism with God's new covenant. Jesus taught what God had already said. If you study a little on Israel's background you would understand the corruption that existed within Israel. These being made by even the religous leaders themselves. So when Jesus came aound, teaching a new "religion", he was just reminding them what God's original intentions for them were.
For example: The book of leviticus contains an extensive amount of laws set by Moses that the Jews had to follow. Some of these laws were very vague... for example. "Do not work on the Holy Sabbath(sunday)" What was considered work?
The religious leaders began to set up rules to follow this law properly like, walking for more than a mile was work. Or cooking was work. People became so hung up with these rules that when Jesus came around and started doing things that went against these rules the people thought that he was disobeying God and starting a "new" religion. If you think about it, he was breaking the rules the Jews set up, not the one God's had told Moses to write down. Jesus came to teach them that they were too focused on the literality of it, and not the meaning behind the law of not working on the sabath. The law was set there as a representation of God resting on the 7th day of creation and served as a reminder to the people that God created earth.
Things like that was what made Jesus appear to be making up a "new" religion, when all he was doing was teaching them what they had been reading all along, but never understood.
He came to do that, and the fact that he was the Messiah also counted. Even this though wasn't a new religion. The Old Testemant predicted the coming of the Messiah, and Jesus came to fulfill that roll of Messiah. Not to set up a new religion.
(Hope that shed some light since I kind of breezed through what should have been a great essay lol. : p)
Now, how people interpet Jesus' teachings is a completely different matter, and this is why there is a lot of division within christianity. Since Jesus said some things flat out, and others he set up for interpretation, but thats really it. When you go out and interpret a religion, you aren't setting up a new one(unless you're just tearing the religion down and starting from scratch), you're just formulating your own interpretations.

Sorry to bring this back to life, but I must weigh in. While everyone in the world should be free to practice whatever religion they choose, Scientology is not necessarily a religion. While it is a belief set that some choose to follow (and they have the right to choose) it's based on a science-fiction novel.
That aside, it's the cruel and terrible things that Scientologists do that makes them despicable human beings. No religion should be based on how much money you can contribute, but Scientology is. They bleed your bank accounts dry and then tell you (broke and miserable) that you can't achieve enlightenment because you have no money left. You have to pay (and I mean some serious money) for "treatments" in order to reach the next "level" and get the piece of their so-called "Bible."
On top of all this Scientology kills its members when they try to escape. It's not a religion, it's a cult. This is not a joke, and is quite disturbing.

More recently, scientology has gone to lengths such as forbiding use of medication for serious medical conditions resulting in the death of Jett Travolta, actor John Travolta's son.
I will also encourage you to go on youtube and search "scientology kills" to see just how many instances like this there are.
