Alright, so we have often seen throughout human history times when people had to conform to newer and supposed better ways in life. I was looking over some old essays of mine, and one on this topic came up. I was rather impressed with my own views on the subject. Maybe if I get the time, I can copy up some portions of it into this debate.
Anyways, back on topic Travis!
With the world now-a-days, with 'political correctness' and all other thigns that are trying to intrude into the everyday lives of people, I propose the following question:
In today's society, is it better to comform to the views of how the world thinks we should be, or continue to be who we always have been?
Please, if you are going to post in this debate, have evidence of INTELLIGENCE in you post, give reasoning and supporting information in your debate, whether religous or historic, it does not matter. Please, just KNOW what you are talking about...

Oh, anyone that is interested in this topic, I strongly suggest you read the book "Anthem" by Ayn Rand. It gives a very interesting perspective and outlook on the theory of "We" versus "I."

Just be yourself.
If you're a conformist, be a conformist.
If you're an individual, be an individual.

We actually have a thread about "Political Correctness" (http://www.kingdomhearts3.org/showthread.php?t=14459) just in case you want to know about that more there it is.
Wow, this whole thing makes me go back to the books "The Giver" and "Brave New World" about their morals and laws about society. People had certain laws/rules and perspectives about how they saw society then. They also had pro's and con's as we still do today. Well I believe that some rules and laws are needed to ensure safety but a lot of today's laws aren't needed. Political Correctness is sometimes necessary however the health qualities decrease in society as well as the individual. I believe it helps quite a lot of people with their problems. Well the ones who want to be helped or the ones who are forced through the legal system because of crimes that they've committed or were alleged. But not all of society believe in this some are actually against it for personal reasons.
Just be yourself.

Well said Cristo well said.
