Since this is in the KH1 section, I'll assume that you are talking about the first game. Here's what you do: when he is glowing gold, pick up a barell, lock onto him (after you pick it up, or you'll have a problem), don't get too close, throw it at him. This will take that glow away and you can attack him. Other than that, just dodge his other attacks and you'll be fine. ^^

There weren't Summon nor Drive Guages in Kingdom Hearts I, nor was Timeless River.

When Hercules (in KH1) does the attack where is runs thrusting his head out in front of him (trying to barrel over Sora), use the dodge roll (to play it safe). Otherwise, when Herc. does this move you can try to hit him (counterattack him) to throw him off balance (which this trick sometimes doesn't work for you have to time your attack right) and you then can attack him.

pretty much when hurc is glowing you cant hit him....so you othrow a barrell at him to get rid of the glow....then you can hit him

Dodge roll helps out when he is "god"modding and is near you.

Also, after he does his tornado attack thing he gets dizzy, a perfect time to strike, unless hes glowing.
