Hello everyone,
Here at KingdomHearts3 I try very often to reach out to the community in order to gain ideas for ways to improve your experience. After listening to some feedback from the community, I have determined that some of the forums could use a little switching around. Let me outline my proposed changes thus far:
* Moving "The Rules" from "General Chat" -> "Forum News"
* Moving "Suggestions & Comments" from "General Chat" -> "Forum News"
* Moving "Staff Positions" from "General Forums" -> "Forum News"
* Moving "News Articles" from "Suggestions & Comments" -> "Kingdom Hearts News" (since that was it's original intention.)
So now comes the part where I reach out to the community. First off, feedback is needed, as much of it as possible so that we can get the forums such that everybody is reasonably happy. So first of all what I need to know is this?
* What do you think of the proposed changes? Are they beneficial? Do they make sense? Will they confuse people? Do you like the changes? Hate them?
Next thing:
* Do you have any more suggestions? Do other things need moving around? Do we need any more sub-forums in the KH areas? Do we need any more sub-forums in the General Area? The proposed changes have made room for 1 or 2 new sub-forums. One of these proposed forums is the "FanFic" section, which I'm currently not sure yet as to the number of people who would support this section.
So do something to give back to the community and let us know how you feel about these proposed changes. I'll give this thread a few days to marinate, and I'll be looking and replying to it often. If you have ANY suggestions - any at all - now is a great time to give them.
Thank you for your cooperation (assuming you cooperate, of course).

I like the changes Dragoonkaain. I think it makes more sense that way. And I'm sure everyone would get used to it. Also the fanfic idea I really don't know I guess people would support it, but I'm just not sure about the idea.
And I guess that's about it. I really don't have any suggestions about the forum yet, but I'm sure I will come up with something or someone else will.

Perhaps a more reasonable idea would be to come up with a sub-forum that supports Fanfic among other things. I dunno, I'll keep listening to feedback (if I get any more.)

Well, I suggested a forum to discuss other games besides SE, so I suppose that's still up for debate.

It's always sort of my intention to allow other games to be talked about in the S-E section. Let me chat around and I'll see what can be done.
I personally think it is a great idea, much more organised.
I do have a suggestion though, I think maybe we should ahve a sub-forum under RPG, and have it called 'Parodies'. This will - obviously - distinguish serious RPG's from Parodies. I don't think this is a nessesary change, but really it is your decision. Again, nice changes :D

I think for now it'd be better if you made an RPG and just made the title "PARODY: <title>"
For example: "PARODY: Kingdom Livers RPG" (I know, it sucks, give me break.)

The problem is that there are problems related to doing this. Take for instance several situations:
Situation A. - Locking your own Thread
Poster creates a thread about... "Why I think Venezuela's politics are good." Then all of the subsequent posts by visitors are talking about Venezuela's politics not being good. They should have a right to do so. The OP gets mad and decides to lock his thread due to differing opinions. That is not what we want to give users the right to do.
Situation B. - Deleting your own Posts
In a topic related to discussing the mating habits of fruit flies, user "Joe" says something that user "Sally" points out as being wrong. Several other users comment as well, and Joe realizes he made a stupid comment. Joe then goes and deletes the comment. Well, the comments made by Sally and others are still there, and they are clearly responding to Joe's comment. Future viewers will think it looks silly that Sally is commenting on Joe's comment.. when Joe never made a comment (because he deleted it, remember?).
That example is a weak example, but there are situations where this becomes more of a problem.

But users do delete their own posts. We already have that situation. I think he was referring to deleting the whole thread.
Which they shouldn't be able to do for the same reason as locking/closing the thread.
The problem with people deleting posts is that other people then complain that someone double-posted when they originally didn't, but there's not much we can do about that. When that situation does come up I occasionally merge the posts.

hang on,wont it mess up the system?
i mean like if you post a new thread and its all a bunch of crap..if you delete it wont it do things to your postcount?
*scenario*(spelt wrog probably*
user1 makes a thread-but it gets bad comments
he decides to delete the thread, causing all poscount on that thread to be deleted
do you see what im getting at? correct me if im wrong

Postcounts do not change, I don't think.
No, it won't affect your post count. Well, not on my forum, it doesn't.
If a thread is closed, post count is unaffected. If a thread is deleted, post count goes down. If posts are deleted, I'm not sure lol.

Probably, but why would you want to? It would result in large amounts of double-posting and an absolute nightmare for everyone else.

Thank you, I hope to continue to make changes that will reflect positively on the forum.
PS: I slipped in a change yesterday that some of you might start feeling starting today. The Web Families forum no longer increases post count. Just thought I would let you all know. Right now both the Forum Games and Web Families sections no longer increase your official post count when you post in them.
There are currently no plans to do this to other forum areas.
