Oooh, very tough decision. I've played so many!

Graphics: Final Fantasy X
Storyline: Final Fantasy VII
Sidequests: Final Fantasy VII
Card Game: Final Fantasy VIII (although IX's was pretty awesome too)
Battle System: Final Fantasy IX
Summons: Final Fantasy X
Characters: Final Fantasy IX (VII being close second)
Length: Final Fantasy IX (the longest FF)
Music: Final Fantasy IX
2D: Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IV
Overall: Final Fantasy IX

I liked everything about IX, the gameplay, music, story, card game, sidequests, extra games, characters, and so much more! lol VII was also awesome, and would definitely come a close second.

lol I would say that all RPG players should play Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, Kingdom Hearts, and Dark Chronicle during their lifetimes :)

FF7 & FF9 are probably the best real Rpgs.

Final Fantasy VII a god damn good game

More that I think about it I kinda liked FF9 the most.

I thought seperating the different skill classes made it easier to enjoy the game more instead of having to focus on who got what skills to become a black mage, healer/summoner, etc...

FFIV Cause you could have Odin as a summon :D

I actually liked 4 the most, with 6&7 tied for second.
I have an advantage over many of my friends. I can boast to have been able to play every single final fantasy main title (As well as MQ) up until FFXI. I have to admit, FFX-2, while having incredible gameplay and a really good battle system, had the worst story IMHO than many of the other FFs.

Either FF7 or FFX-2. Those are really good games!

I'd say... Final Fantasy IV gets my #1 spot for the purposes of nostalgia.

I hear that about FFX-2 alot. Glad someone said how good its battle system and gameplay was still good thou.

I like FF8 the best so far because the characters. I haven't played FF7 yet but when I do that'll probably become my favourite FF game. I've only played some of FF9 but I still didn't really like it. FF10 would come second or third because of its graphics and it was my very first FF game. FFX-2 had a great battle system but I have to agree with Snags with its really bad plot.

You could have Odin as a summon in VII as well, but I've gotta admit, I did love playing FFIV :)

FFX-2 was cool, but as I say, it gave way too much freedom to the player, and because of that, it's storyline did suffer as Snags said lol. Have you played Chrono Trigger? If not I can boast that I've played every one as well as that ;) I wasn't a massive fan of Crystal Chronicles though.

That's not exactly what I mean. The ending was the same, you couldn't choose multiple ones, just extra scenes to it. While a "multiple paths" game and its supposed to be all "OMG u can change stuffs"..it's really not.
As for the plot...gah. Terrible.
They also should've built on the battle system and gameplay instead of putting XI into the main series. FF is an RPG series, not MMORPG...

Crazyman

Yea i know FFXI was a lame idea
They should put their time in making a FVII - 2 or FVIII - 2
:D Haha

Riku
12-23-2006, 03:58 AM
They kind of did work on FFVII-2, the sequel they decided was Advent Children, and they spent a lot of time working out whether to make it a film or a game lol. Of course there's also Dirge of Cerberus, Before Crisis, and Crisis Core in the FFVII series too.

I played FFXI on my friend's account for a bit. I think I would really love it if it weren't so much to continue playing :(

I preordered FFXII for the UK though, and from what I've heard I won't be disappointed - and I can't wait for FFXIII and Versus as well! lol

It is a fun game. I really should play it alot more.

Lets just say the License Board has the most freedom out of all the other FF games type of grids they had.

A definate Final Fantasy IX vote from me. :) Absolutely everything is what I love about this game. I also think the Final IX summon's are the best designed out of all Final's. I really like all characters from the game too, even ones like Lani, Ruby & Stiltzskin. 10/10 HellYeah!

I would say only Steiner, Quina and the Queen looked a bit weird. Most other people were pretty cool lol. I loved it. :)

Already have, and however awesome the graphics are, the overall gameplay I didn't find as good. The story wasn't bad though.

my favorite ff games are final fantasy & final fantasy 12 and we'll see when final fantasy 13 and verses13 comes out. i like 7 because of its story and all it's side quests and defenatly the characters. i liked 12 for gameplay and characters but most of all the freedom to move around while you fight. and 13 just look so ccccccoooooooooolllllll!!!

FFVII without a doubt lol - If they actually went through with redoing the entire game for PS3 that is. As far as I know they're just doing Midgar as a PS3 Demo, which would still be awesome, but wouldn't cut it as a standalone game.

FFVII started the whole thing for me... It'll always be the best.
You kno they were gonna make a ff7 for the PS3 and it looked mean but they decided it was too much work for a little reward and just used it to demonstrate what the PS3 can do... Darn it!

I liked 8 the best. It's what got me started and to this day i think it had the best storyline. The music was by far the best of the FFs, closely followed by 10.

I WANTS TO SEE FFVII ON PS3. Stupid 'technical demo'. Bah. *lives in hope still*

*as has done for the last... however long... year... since first saw that tech demo screenshot*

I loves FFVII. It's the only one I've played, though, so but yeah. SO FAR.

Being in Florida it could be a problem. Over here in the UK, the European edition of the Final Fantasy Anthology includes IV and V. VI is a standalone game.

The only place I can find it for America NTSC is eBay - Final Fantasy Anthology: Collector's Edition, which includes V and VI:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Final-Fantasy-Anthology-PS1MINT_W0QQitemZ290069060593QQihZ019QQcategoryZ62 053QQcmdZViewItem

That's the best listing I think. Alternatively, you could get the ROMs for the original SNES versions and use an emulator.

ffx is the greatest game ever, for any system, any genre.. the story was great, the voiceovers were good, and the cutscenes were unbelievably smooth.. square enix is so far ahead of their time, and so far ahead of the competition...
