Hopeless Heartless

Welcome, hi, hello, good day, wilkomen, etc. etc. How are you? Good? Fantastic. Well as some of you know my main passion on the ole forum boards is RP’ing. I used to do the Kingdom Hearts 3 RPG back in the day. But alas, those days are long gone for me.
So when I rejoined the site a few months ago, I got to thinking about what I could do to make a truly spectacular return. Then I thought about RP’s to make and what I could do that was a bit different on the site, to add a bit a flavour and spice to the RPG section with something totally fresh (anyone else getting hungry reading this?). So I looked and browsed over the RP’s on the site. There seems to be a whole lot of ideas based on Kingdom Hearts, some great quality, others a bit lacklustre. The original RP’s interested me quite a lot though. I’ve noticed some very creative people have joined the site in my absence, and RP’ing has truly sky rocketed. One particular user I’ve took a shine to (shall remain anonymous), is someone I will PM and personally ask to be a part of this RP.
That’s another thing. This RP will require massive amounts of effort and creative flair, so I’m going to be extremely selective about who’s in and who’s out. That sounds extremely uppity, but I’ve seen way too many good RP ideas die and be buried in spammy posts. For all those confused about spammy posts in terms of RP, contact one of the RPG team about it. But yes, for this RP to be truly fun, exciting and dynamic, I need people who will be descriptive, realistic, and creative. That’s just how it goes. Because I don’t know the majority of you, I’ll be relying on fellow users to help me choose who’s gonna be in this RP and not aha.
First off, I’ll post the background to the RP here. If you’re interested in it, let me know yeah? Don’t let what I’ve said put you off. I’m always looking for new people to befriend due to RP’ing ahah.
So without further ado, on with the show.
Lights…camera…backdrop!
No one expected it. There was no way anyone could have seen it coming…
2100 AD. World War III leaves billions of people dead and even more without homes. Riots ensue, chaos flows through the whole of known civilisation and the government faces revolutions on all fronts. Taking drastic measures, top scientists of the medicinal company Thyrax begin to work on a drug known only as C. When it finally comes into being, the drug is quickly shipped to continents all over the world. Acting as the ultimate relaxant and emotion suppressant, the injection of the drug becomes mandatory for all civilians.
After a few days the results first looked promising. The riots ceased, crime was non existent and the cities began to rebuild themselves. Because of the success of the drug and the dependency on the company, Thyrax slowly becomes a superpower, having sway over entire countries such as the USA, Japan, China and most of Europe. Dictatorship soon follows suit, but of course the citizens do not care. They become zombies, mindlessly following orders from the Thyrax officers. Despite the controlling nature of the world, things never looked so prosperous.
When it happened, the world could not be more unprepared.
A few years after the drug was introduced, riots began to break out. This was no ordinary civil disobedience however. Reports began to flow into big cities about how whole towns had been completely destroyed by the inhabitants, almost displaying animalistic rage. News began to spread about how people had turned cannibalistic and began to feed off innocent civilians. Those left alive after an attack by these creatures soon began to turn and change into the horrible beasts themselves. Chaos ensued. Whole cities began to fall and burn, and no one could stop them. After all, in such a Utopia, not even a police force was necessary never mind a military presence.
Activating the ultimate contingency plan, the cities where Thyrax HQ’s were situated sent there privately trained Black Op’s to wipe out any threat to themselves and the cities they were in. Even then, only the cities where Thyrax were present were safe. The rest of the world soon fell to chaos and whole continents were left a barren wasteland, lost to those who soon became known as “Stalkers”. Vicious, human like creatures with only two simple objectives. Infect and destroy.
10 years have passed since the event known to those who survived as “The Fall”. There are only 7 cities world wide, with populations of about 8 million per city. Surrounding the cities is nothing but dry earth and Stalkers, who have made homes in the barren wasteland. The cities are populated with thugs, junkies, Black Op Security Squads and civilians, the C injections now no longer necessary, because any sign of civil disobedience or unrest is swiftly dealt with by the Black Op’s. There are some who resist however. Some who strive to find the truth of the outbreak, the reason behind the Stalkers and above all else, drive forward to find a cure for the disease. This ragtag group of rebels are known only as The Resistance. Few in numbers and behind on technological advances, all hope seems lost for them. But they will never give up. They will never surrender, back down or run away no matter the odds.
For they are human.
And as long as they can breathe, they will fight, even to the death.
And there are talks of those by tavern dwellers of creatures that are no longer human at all, but are indeed mutants. These tall tales are often dismissed as lunacy but there are those who swear on their lives they have seen them, sights beyond human comprehension.
This is the future.
This is civilisation as we know it
This is humanity’s last stand.
For now, it’s staying on the sketches bit. I really would like a lot of people applying for this and hopefully we can have it up and running within the week. If I get enough attention, I’ll lash the templates up for the characters. For now, just post in here if you’re interested
Cheers guys!
