So during my spring break I decided to read this book that 4 of my friends, all of them girls, recommended I read. The book is Twilight and if you don't know what its about then I'll sum it up in two words, "Vampire Romance". Hehe, sounds a bit cheesy but it quickly made it into my top 5 favorite books of all time, 3rd place to be exact, 1st belonging to Deathly Hallows and 2nd to Half-Blood Prince from the Harry Potter series.

There are currently 3 books in the series and the 4th and final is being released this August. I completely read through Twilight over the week and before we left San Diego to go home I made my road trip buddies take me to Borders so i could buy New Moon, the 2nd.

Anyways, has anyone else read this series yet? I highly recommend to all of you, guys and girls, to read this series. It really throws your perspective of what vampires are out the window but yeah. Any takers for a discussion on this?

I'm nearing the end of the third book. Well, i'm liek 2/3 to 3/4 the way through. I just got passed the part where, well only look if you have read all three.
Bella is all over Edward about having sex together. A rather disturbing chapter. *Shudders*

TO put it bluntly, yes.
And you should have already read Twilight if you are on New Moon. Are you thinking of Eclipse and Breaking Dawn? Well if so in Eclipse stuff happens, (no spoilers for you), and Breaking Dawn has yet to come out. It's being released this August.

Yes there is a movie but no there is not a trailer for it. It is still in production and isn't being released untill early December. Still have a bit of a wait. There are fan made trailers but no actual scenes of the movie, just a bunch of clips from Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) and Kristen Stewart's (Isabella Swan) past movies.

For those of you that don't know about Twilight read the book or read this. . . . .

The storie starts when Bella Swan movies to Fork in Washington to live with her father. When Bella sits next to Edward Cullen in biology class on her first day of school, Edward seems utterly repulsed, even attempting to change his schedule to avoid her. After tricking a family friend, Jacob Black of the Quileute (pronounced Quil-yoot) tribe, into telling her the local tribal legends (flirting with him to do so), Bella concludes that Edward and his family are vampires. Although she was inexplicably attracted to him when she thought Edward drank human blood, she is much relieved to learn that the Cullens choose to abstain from drinking human blood, and drink animal blood instead. Over time, Edward and Bella fall very deeply in love. Their foremost problem is Bella's "alluring scent", making Edward struggle to resist his desire to kill her. However, despite this and Bella's strange knack for constantly landing herself in dangerous situations, they manage to stay together safely for a time.

The seemingly perfect state of their relationship is thrown into chaos when another vampire coven sweeps into Forks and James, a tracker, sets his sights on Bella. The literature was actually pretty good. The author (dont know her name) is quite a decent writer. Wouldn't say there is anything else really special about the book though.

Well, when i think of a "childrens book", i think of something along the lines of Goosebumps or something. Now there is no comparison between the two. I do agree that some of it was comical (mainly the romantic parts) but the majority of the books were well written, cheesy romance parts aside.

if they aren't stores, why not use Ebay? xD but i'm pretty sure it's in Australia becuase it's been translated and printed in countries like Germany and Japan already, so i don't think Australia would be left out.

this series is abosultely amazing. Sure, it's sometimes a bit lovey-duvey, but there are other parts that are so great. I can't wait till the 4th and final book comes out! 30 more days! woot!

yea, the romantic parts are so cheesy, that's why i love it (reminds me of me and my ex, lol).

and the loves evolves..how much more unconditionally can you get when it comes to love? he's 16, she's a baby (so he's being a big bro!)..the baby would have someone protecting her, til she grows up..If she needs a friend, Quil will always be there..he could be like a bestfriend. And when the time comes, when the baby becomes an adult..then that's where they'd realize they were meant for each other..

I have mixed feelings about it.

I read the entire book. It was REEEALLY slow until the last 200 pages, where the only excitement/action is.

I'm dreading the movie because I am not a huge fan of the book.

I don't know if I'll go on to read Eclipse. My friend said she thought it was better than twilight. Plus I like werewolves more than vampires.

Its not even that. Aside from some of the acting that i have seen, and it looking very forced and somewhat awkward, they showed a good portion of the fight at the end of the movie...seeing as they didn't use very much special effects at all, the stuff they were doing looked very cheap and just not well done.

Finished it this morning. A bit of a dissapointment if you ask me. Most deffinatly my least favorite out of all of them.

Reasons why:
1. Bella and Edward pretty much became a couple of horn dogs. It was fine the first couple of times but it still seemed like it was overdone.
2. Bella seemed to be out of character for a bit of the book. I dunno but she didn't seem to be the same Bella I liked in the other books.
3. The ending could have been a bit better. I would have rather liked to see a fight erupt, that would have been cool.

I don't like the guy who plays Edward in the movie. Sorry to say, but they should have let Stephanie choose the cast because she could probably get someone who looks closer to Edward from the book. Just saying...I wish the characters were pale too, that sort of takes puts them more in their element. Stupid movies have to change everything.

Regarding the book, I think one reason why people don't like New Moon is because (spoiler?) Edward's not too much in the book until the end. It's mostly between Bella and Jacob. And apparently, not too many people like Jacob because he's "not hot" and Edward is. Personally, I think that's quite ridiculous because they're judging characters based on their physical descriptions. Wow....

Does anyone else think that the book was kinda rushed in the beginning of Breaking Dawn? Just wondering, because I thought so.

The one thing that I dislike about the books is primarily the fan base behind it. I seriously think some people get too obsesed over these books. I also think it is this reason that many people say "TWILIGHT SUCKS" even though they have never read the books. They judge the books based on the fanbase rather than reading it for what it truly is. I enjoyed the books, though Breaking Dawn was a bit of a dissapointment. I was also rather impressed with the movie. I think the reason why I was impressed with it was because I didn't have high hopes for it but when they exceeded my already low expectations I actually thought they did a good job. Sure they missed a few scenes but they can't fit everything in, right?

But anyways, there's a bit of my input.

I truthfully love Twilight and Stephenie Meyer's other works, but it just gets me mad when after a trailer comes out and there's this totally hot British guy (no offense) playing a mysterious and dangerous vampire and all the sappy fangirls of the world want to read the book then instead of reading it 2 years ago when it came out in the first place.

Twilight has three major weakpoints

One: Lack of research, Stephanie even admitted to never have read or reaseched any of the great vampire books, nore dwelled into the very ocre of it, That is THE FOLKLORE; THE MYTH. she based her entire book upon a dream.

2: Utterly failing character development. None of the characters have any deapth, fit into the very core of stereo typing and the lead, Bella, is one huge mary sue.

3: Twinkle Twinkle. If you make a race that shares almost NO connection to vampires. Don't name them vampires.

i love the text that its written in, but the concept of the word 'vampire' is bringing girls to the 12 am movies that we all know aren't that good. xD i watched it anyways! i mean, i like twilight, but i don't like the concept.

The Twilight Saga is very good. My favorate chartacter is Alice, the way she lgoes on about her yellow porsh and who she begs bella to let her do her wedding. lol. Alice is just cool. The Movies are alright. Rather read the books though
