Ok, I never got Chain of Memories because I thought that it was a random off shoot and thought that it had nothing to do with the main story line. Now I find out that it is a direct follow up of KH1.
So basically, what happens? What do I need to know?

You don't really need to play CoM for understanding KH1 and KH2.
But also, I never played CoM also.

yea..what they said.
CoM is crucial and delivers some great info if you care and dive into what really happened in KH.
And please stop making threads, like this..keep your questions in one thread.
And do try to browse the forum a bit more. I'm sure you'll find what you need..Thanks

Do please try to keep all your questions to one or two threads as mentioned, and this forum has plenty of other threads you can look for information on or perhaps make a comment. Thankyou ^^

Actually, you really do need to play CoM to understand Kingdom Hearts II. Or else, you'd be all "Uh, since when is Sora in a gigantic egg?". Basically, CoM was made to help people understand how and why Sora was put to sleep, and the importance of memories. It can connect to further games, such as Birth By Sleep and 358/2 Days. I know that in the future, we'll need to use CoM as a reference. In fact, people all ready are :P

The Sora/Namine connection, the Riku/Mickey and Riku/DiZ connection, what happened to a bunch of the members of the organizations, and a really fun, innovating gaming experience.
That's what you've missed out on.
Nomura has filled the whole KH series with plot holes and inconsistencies and the only way to fill them and understand the importance of the ones still left is to play all 3 games a few times.
