A Juji Kabane idea, chill its not a creepy one

Joke pming for new members, it would help them feel more welcome and put a smile on there face's and make them laugh. now this job will be hard like greeting, sending jokes to new members and all, what do you all think ?

I am not the kind of guy to send jokes to my friends. i talk to them. its hard comeing up with funny jokes. even for me.

Well GT boss send to come up with new ideas and send it to him and i did and he said to make a thread here to get the view on what others have to say.

I think it would be taken to be a pretty lame gesture.

Some people are already a bit put off by the greeters. Adding a "funny" joke in there would add to an already complicated issue. You have several factors to include:

1. The jokes have to be clean. I don't know if you've noticed, but it's hard to make funny jokes when you have to be clean.

2. Most of the really good jokes are rather elaborate or part of a grander scheme (read: an act).

3. You have to rely on canned jokes that appeal to the broadest audience possible. Not all people find the same jokes funny, which means you have to cast the widest net. This also has the unfortunate side effect that most of these (successful) jokes have already been told/heard by most people.

What I think wouldn't be a BAD idea:

A community run (read: not a TEAM per se) service in which people could "sign up" to receive jokes into their inbox, and somebody (or somebodies, per se) could send out PM's to these people who have signed up to receive them on such-and-such a basis (weekly, biweekly, daily, whatever). I just can't see this being a function for a team or a team itself.

Um. You could just create a thread somewhere asking people to sign up if they want jokes PM'd out to them. And then... I dunno... keep track of who those people are, schedule out how often you want to send out the jokes...

You could maybe even allow people to sign up to be the people who send jokes out. And then maybe... you give those people a schedule of when they'll send their jokes out "Person A sends out jokes this week, Person B next week, etc".

I dunno. I'm just saying this is something that could be done amongst yourselves without the need for administrators/mods/etc.

Welp, sending out Joke PM's for subscribers to enjoy couldn't be that bad. With a good hold of a Joke-book/Creativity/Google = Settled.
