I'm...
Standing on the edge of life,
Standing on the edge of strife.
Filled with the lies of a mystery,
Staring into the face of a morning glory.
The beauty tells me what there is to be.
To be something real,
And to finally heal.
What is it like to feel,
When you make the final deal.
It's filled with a surreal appeal,
Stand back from the edge to have it revealed.
Standing on the edge of myself,
Standing on the edge of a dusty old shelf,
In itself I realize you can only be yourself.
This is the only way to prove oneself.
What is this disaster,
It spins on faster,
I can see it has no master.
Dwelling deep within,
Could it really be one's true sin?
In this sin I have lost,
This bloody bridge I've crossed,
My skin has broken with frost,
And still, I have not paid the cost.
How can I really forget?
Years spent under a looming threat.
Seems worse than hell's debt,
It's to me that soon my only regret,
Is only seeing your silhouette.
My dark betrayal will allow me to be gone,
Each day I grow withdrawn, each day I see I'm a pawn.
No long will I be one, I ride towards the dawn.
And thus I have transformed, a duckling to a swan.
Standing on the edge of reality.
Testing my real vitality.
It is said with finality,
I can never have more than my own mortality.
I stare fate in the face,
It leads this chase.
I can only travel at it's pace,
Which I see now is truly a race.
I am not one to replace,
I am not the one in disgrace.
My fate turns and with one single embrace,
I am standing on the edge of what is not my place.
