The gods have brought two together to fight to the finish for the pleasure of destruction. Only one will leave this mountain alive. The other well just won't be so lucky. They have permitted spectators to watch and cheer. These two will need all the help they can get. They will be starting their fighting on a circular arena above a 40 foot drop to a magma flowing river. The only thing that keeps them inside this mountain is an army of millions of orks and 4 of the Kings dragons. The orks wait to see who will come out only to reward them with the defeated oponent's head and grant them leave, but all are still bloodthirsty and will enter into the mountain to claim both their heads for Sauron. Fight along side or fight against. That is the descision the two will have to make as they fight within or on every inch of this volcano. They have three days to escape with their lives.

History: From the Eruyt village deep in Golmore Jungle, comes Fran. Part of an ancient rabbit race known as the Viera, Fran left her village home behind to pursue a career as a sky pirate. Adept in engineering, Fran is also a keen fighter and her sensitivity to Mist means that she can summon up great power, especially when enraged.

Master Yoda entered the door leading to the battle arena. As he walk, he felt the heat rise as the lava flowed down below. To the left their was an exit an exit ten feet below with a large metal gate. He could hear the screaming of the beasts that were flying outside the mountain and the orks that were banging on the door. Across the arena he saw a walkway and at the end a large door similar to the one he went through. To the right their were som cavern holes in the walls and walkways leading to one another and some leading toward the outer ring of the arena. The center dangled in mid air only to be supported by the two walk ways that conected the doors. "Evil, I sense. Yet one good soul, there is." He said aloud to himself. The doors behind him started to shut as the doors across from him began to open. He pulled his lightsaber in ready stance.

Completely comfortable in this kind of atmosphere, Fran had been places like this before. Yet she could sense through the Mist that there was another, and that her fate was intrinsically linked to his. Strutting down the path on the other side of the mountain, watching with wonder as the fiery magma bubbled below and screeching gargoyles fled through the sky, Fran took a while to take it all in. She could hear the desperate banging of the orks, hungry and ready to take the first bite they could find. "Something's not quite right here", she muttered in her unusual Viera accent.

Finally reaching the area her senses had drawn her to, Fran saw that the doors were shutting and quickly fled through them with a flick of her long, striding legs. She just made it in time, but didn't have chance to savour her relief before she saw the one stood before her. He was the anomaly she had sensed in this chaotic world, the one who stood out. His aura was one of good, yet she knew that there had to be a battle, for some unknown reason that she was hoping would reveal itself as events took their course.

"So. It is you little man who summoned me here. Do you know the consequences of such?" She spied his glowing lightsaber, a weapon she had never seen before. Knowing that the battle's start was inevitable, Fran readied her Saggitarius Bow and waited cooly for his reply.

"Consequences, I know of none. Defeating you, I am shurely looking foward to" Yoda said with a curt reply. He noticed the aura of power around her. "Go down easy, you will not. Be it so." He continued as she pulled out a wepon. He gave a smirk and threw down his cane.

Yoda threw a wave of energy at the girl to knock her down and jumped a few feet from her. "Begin, we will" Yoda said as he waited for her to stand back up. The bangs grew louder and screams got closer. "Entered, they have" He said as the darkness lingered through the caves creeping closer to the arena and continued "Leave, you shall not."

Quickly getting back onto her pointed feet, Fran saw the playful look in her adversary's eyes. She could feel the rage bubble up inside of her, but decided to try and control it since she didn't yet know what kind of a fighter she was up against. The screams echoed in her long ears, excruciating. This will be a difficult battle with such a din....

Bringing her focus forward, Fran nocked three arrows and fired them in succession. Seeing how quick her adversary's reflexes were helped to fathom his technique. So he uses his speed and size. Very well, I shall match his speed.

Fran flipped her slender frame high up in the air above her opponent, readying herself for a Whip Kick attack. Willing magicks from the Mist in the air around her, Fran snapped her legs and sent a beam of blue energy hurtling towards her target. It was difficult for her to maintain her balance because of the rumblings of the mountains and the desperation in the noises which came from the beings around her. But she held her focus well and her aim was direct.

Yoda watched her jump over him with little ease. Anticipating an atack he jumped out of the way and stood ready. "Underestimating me you are. Defeating me you wish, but how you ask" Yoda said. He started a charge with his lightsaber and swung with a fury of atacks hoping to land a strike.

Fran's beam of energy crashed into the mountainside as Yoda skillfully jumped out of the way. Descending from the sky, Fran had to be very quick to dodge Yoda's swings with his lightsaber. Even faster than I thought.....

Running over to the door, Fran used her Mist energy to fire a ball of electricity over at Yoda, hoping to land in a hit, but not too optimistic. Fran would need to use her tactics much more to win this one, and she willed herself not to give in to the rage inside of her, fearing that it would make her lose her edge.

As Yoda force-ran in a zigzag form toward her with lightsaber trailing behind him, he stoped for a second noticing the ball of energy. Panting he spoke "Much energy you hold, you resist it yet." As the ball of energy speed toward him he quickly let up his hand to catch it. Drawing the power in, he held the sphere and reversed it toward her.

Yoda continued toward her seeing that orks found the center of the mountain through the caves. He paused again and caused som ruble to fall onto some of them. The others made it past and started their way down toward the two fighters as more started ouring out of the other caves. Archers stood at the entrances and tried to hit the two. Yoda easily deflected these and spoke to the girl "Shoot them you must, killing the warriors I will."

Forgetting the epic battle with her adversary for a while, Fran took his warning and shot her arrows deep into the hearts of the screaming gargoyles overhead, then sent a shower down onto the orks howling below them. She watched in amazement as the little green warrior danced his way around them, slashing with his lightsaber and effortlessly sending the creatures to their death. Much energy I hold? Resist it yet? What does this refer to? Fran pondered this as she made light work of the pestulent gargoyles, showing her characteristic disdain of such creatures.

As the last one was slain, Yoda paused to take a breath. "What is your name, may I ask" he said as he turned to face the girl. The screetches of the dragons up above grew intensly loud. The doors that they walked into started banging as the gates down below got louder and started to give in.

Yoda could feel Sauron's power in the volcano and examined the lava river for a moment then looked back at the girl with ready. Lightsaber pulled out with imense heat given to it through the special crystals in it causing it to have a green color to it.

"My name? It is.....Fran...." Fran called to him as she put away her bow and took out her Golden Axe. "Might I inquire as to your name?"

The Mist in the air was so cloying and saturated with evil power that Fran could feel her head reeling from the strength of it. However she willed herself to fight on, sensing that there would be an eruption of monsters very soon, threatening to overwhelm them. We are just two, how can we ward off this terrible evil by ourselves? she wondered with a pang of fear.

Determined not to give up, Fran deftly flipped herself up in the air, swinging her axe as she went. Slashing in all directions, Fran cut through the Mist with each swing, also sending several gargoyles to their death. Landing softly, Fran could see below that the doors had fully given way and a huge and terrible monster had started to claw its way up the mountainside. This seemed to trigger a mass exodus of the other beasts, as they ran or flew out of the mountain arena and left the two warriors alone with the monster....

"Yoda, My name is" Yoda replied as the gate gave in. Lightsaber ready he headed to the center of the arena. Defeating the first waves of orks was just the begining. He thought long and hard as the Giant Ork made its way to the arena.

"Destract him yes?" Yoda said to Fran. He went to the edge of the arena and peirced his saber into the ground. moving it he started making a semi-circle hoping to weaken the arena in that area. "Fall here he will" he continued to say. Hoping to work he would fall onto the area cut out and fall into the river below..

"Novel idea, Yoda" Fran replied to this. Her path was now clear, and she was thankful for it. Save the battle with the adversary for later, they must not be interrupted by these monsters.

As Yoda continued to weaken the platform, Fran watched the giant ork ascend the mountain. As his huge gnarled hands grabbed hold of the platform and the giant beast hurled himself up, Fran tucked away her axe and reached for her bow once again, feeling that this would be a better weapon for distraction. She took a few paces back, tossed her snow-white mane and cocked her ears as she armed her bow with three arrows. The ugly beast's head started to appear, and Fran fired a welcome shot into his eye. "This should slow him down a little......"

Screaming in agony, the ork finished climbing onto the platform and stamped around in pain. Fran fired more arrows into its arm, trying to lure it in it's agonized state to where Yoda was laying his trap.

The scream of the monster was deafening to the ear. Yoda finally finished the circular trap and steped back. The monster steped back a few feet from the pain Fran caused it. Right into the center he stood as the ground around him started to crack. Yoda used his force to finish off the rest of the ground. The Ork fell right into the river of lava and desinigrated with a large ear peircing scream.

Yoda felt the time coming to a close. "Thank you. Now fight, we must" Yoda said to Fran as he weilded his saber and faced her again and added "Running short, our time is." He started after her with a spiral jump.

Ducking out of the way just in time, her long ears barely brushing Yoda's robe, Fran found a little smile creeping onto her face. "As you wish, little man", she mockingly sneered at him. She had grown to admire and almost like the old master, she could sense that he was wise and his power was great.

Turning to face him as he landed, Fran dived in towards him with a series of punches using her clawed fists. Knowing that this would be a battle of speed over strength, she decided to abandon her cumbersome weapons and depend on the fighting skills she had learned from her time in The Wood as a trainee hunter. Grateful that her liking for this adversary had dampened her temper, she revelled in the combat.

Yoda dodged one blow after another. After the fury of atacks was done he stood and faced her dead on. He noticed that one of her claws was able to cut a little peice of his garment. "Swift you are. No wepons, it is bad to have" Yoda said as his lightsaber grew in heat to where it was deadly to the touch.

He drew a force of energy from his right hand as he held his saber in his left. Once the energy reached its peak he forced it toward her with lightning speed and began a small series of atacks from juming and vaulting over her trying to get an opening for a strike. The scream a roars from the outside faded away to the intense battle that begun it's ending. Only the slightest noise that could barely be heard was that of the King's dragons soaring above the mountain. The lightsaber slashed away at Fran with all the might of Yoda as he raged on.

Fran found herself struggling under the pressure of this fresh onslaught. I have no defense, why did I let my weapons go? Looks like I'll regret it...

Forcing her bodyweight into a back flip, Fran created distance between herself and the super fast Yoda. Her right thigh had taken some of the force of his energy bolt, since she hadn't been fast enough to dodge. Heaving with lack of breath, Fran felt anger with herself start to threaten her focus and cloud her instincts. Desperately fighting it back, Fran bit her lip and lunged forward with her left leg out front, aiming her heel for Yoda's arm. She surged onwards without her weapons, using the Mist to conjure up fire and aiming it at Yoda, hoping to consume him in flames.

Yoda stoped his atack only to realize his fate. He had only time to move his arm from getting incinerated by fire. Still it had not mattered a piece of his garment caught the fire. He used his force to brush away the fire and gave Fran a little smirk. "End this, I will" Yoda said as he jumped to the center of the arena.

Yoda put away his light saber and used his force again but not toward Fran. He bypassed her and force grabed both ends of the arena, from door to door. The ground started to shake as he focused on tearing the arena away from the doors. In doing so he caused the arena to land in the river. The arena was guarded by a black magic that kept it afloat the lava but not from the rocks and blind turns that would cays it to shake and crumble.

Yoda hoped that the arena would hold out but was still uncertain. "Finish this, shall we?" He said as he drew his saber again. Just to show Fran of what he can do he caused a funnel of lava to flow in a strait line through the center of the arena right at her and got ready for her to atack.

Just a small note about Fran- she is FFXII's equivalent of a beserker within the story =O)

Frozen momentarily by the events which had just passed, Fran gazed at the mountains around her as the arena hurtled down the river of lava, twisting around corners at breakneck speed. This man is crazy, he's intent on death!!

Something snapped inside of Fran. The combination of the Mist in the air and her own rage had finally taken its toll on her and she was no longer able to control her inner feral ferocity. Shaking from the force of her rage exerted on her body, Fran screamed with such rage that the mountains to either side of them crumbled even further, sending debris showering down into the lava river. Next thing she knew she had flung herself at Yoda with all her strength and was clawing at him and kicking with relentless force. She had lost complete control and gave in to the beserker inside.

(OCC: the whole idea of a lava river battle??... hehehe :D ....it was my plan the whole time..... just couldn't resist it.. dont forget the power of the light saber ;) )

Yoda saw in amazement as she charged at him with overwhelming power. "Give in you have" He said to Fran with a smerk on his face. He began his offensive by grabbing a stream of lava and throwing it at her. Then followed up with a line of atacks with his saber, offensively and defensively.

Fran was starting to grow weary as her beserker form pounded away, knowing that very few of her attacks were actually having any effect. I must control it, I must bring myself back from the brink.....

With a gleam in her eye, Fran caught control of herself just as she was pushed back by one of Yoda's force beams. Focusing her energy and harnessing the dark Mist around her, Fran felt the sky around them go dark as she unleashed her most powerful attack......Shatterheart.

Palms outstretched, Fran willed two balls of pure ice to form above them, glistening against the fiery light of the lava fall. Then with all her might, she sent them one at a time hurtling towards her adversary, creating two massive frozen pillars at each side of him. The megaliths glittered and steamed with condensation, as cold as the heart of the blackest villain. Then, holding her hand to her lips, Fran blew a sweet kiss of frozen wind to those megaliths, and watched them start to crack open. "BREAK!!!" she screamed. The megaliths shattered, sending icicles raining down on her adversary.....

Fran waited with anticipation to see if the attack had any affect, watching the platform slow as they floated further away from the fiery mountain, into a forest area where the lava met with a river, cooling it. Fran knew she could do no more, she had spent every last inch of her power, and now all she could do was wait and hope.

Yoda watched in horror as the ice shatered down on him. The air thicked to a dense fog as the ice, water, and lava meet together. As the haze cleared Yoda was barely able to stand. Cuts and gashes were visible is his garments as blood flowed from him. He was able to stop most of them from hitting hm with his lightsaber but not all of them.

"Strong you are" Yoda spoke "No change of survival, their is." As he spoke screeches of the dragons overhead got louder to a deafining frequency not even man could withstand. The kings rode to the platform and landed their beasts on the grass lands and shore. They walked toward the arena to view the sight. "We have come for the victor. Yet both still stand? Why hasn't this come to an end? Master Yoda, hero of the light side, your end is coming. Please continue." one of the kings said.

Yoda had lived his life and was comming to an end. Even though he had the strength to continue on he decided it was time. He gave a last offensive and spun toward Fran hoping to get her to fall into the lava behind her. He gave his all toward the lava and pushed himself over.
