Backstory:

It's been 2 years since the events of Kingdom Hearts 2. Sora has lived peacefully since. There was a letter from the King two years ago saying:

"It seems that Kingdom Hearts is not yet ready for balance. We need to talk. But, sadly, none of us is from the Dark anymore so, we can't use the pathways. You don't have a gummi ship and...my Keyblade is losing power. The worlds walls are up. I can't open the pathways that you used. It seems that my Keyblade is no longer mine. Like Riku, I'm losing it. There must be some other Master. We must find a way to communicate."

Sadly, Sora too was losing his Keyblade...

2 years after the events in Kingdom Hearts II:

As Sora, Kairi, and Riku walked down the beach, they wondered about the events unfolding. There has been some disturbance of some sort and yet, they couldn't help anyone. None of their Keyblades worked anymore. It had started 1 year after the fight with Xemnas. Their Keyblades started to fail them. They wouldn't come when summoned. Only a few times did they come. And now...they were completely useless.

"Hey Sora," Riku said. "How about a raft?" That's what we used before."

"Well that was very naive," Sora replied. "How can we get out?"

Their frustrations reached a peak. That night, their solutions came.

Kairi, Sora, and Riku fell....fell....fell. They landed on a platform. It had images of many Keyblades on it. There was a voice:

"You so seek the Keyblade. The need to save others. If you truly want to be a Master, you must be ready to face the future. Your journey had already ended."

"How is it that it had ended?!" Sora yelled. He couldn't just leave the Keyblade because his journey had ended. He wanted to protect others.

"Prove your worth."
