In which version of Final Fantasy X were the Dark Aeons to be found? I couldn't find that out on like Gamefaqs and elsewhere, as it's not in the Final Fantasy X: Playstatin 2 Greatest Hits version. If someone knows which version(s) they are in, has an opinion on which edition of FFX has the best bonus features, etc., please post here.

I didnt know there was another edition to FFX. But at the end of FFX you battle the dark aeons.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you've gotta love being in the UK :p
In the PAL Version of the game there are optional bosses known as dark aeons. They are exactly as the name says, they are evil versions of your aeons, controlled by the monks of bevelle. The good thing is that unlike your previous aeon battles, you can actualy summon the same aeon that you are facing. The bad thing is however that to defeat them you will need a fully customised sphere grid, which can be a hard thing to do. It is possible to defeat them using a non-customised grid, however it is very hard, and you will find it difficult to beat the ultimate über boss of the game Penance.
Penance is just as it sounds, the hardest optional boss in the game and will take over one hour to beat (not an exagguration). You shall see why in a bit. To fight him you must first defeat all dark aeons and then it will appear as a location on the airship.
NOTE this is only available for the PAL version of the game.
Personally, I've only fought Dark Valefor and won, but never bothered to go for the rest of them. They're awesome battles though - Bad luck America!

Awh man, those things managed to kick my ass everytime I fought off against them. I couldn't even beat Valefor!
I felt shame. I really did.

Good luck for America! If the game is written in English (it's in the UK so I imagine it is) all you need is Swap Magic and the rest is history. If they are as hard as you say to beat them though, that's another story.

Then you should have a PAL region PS2 which means you can just buy it and start playing.
