I'm at the first tutorial with "The Unknown," and the game is telling me:
"Left stick: Move left
Right stick: Move right
R3: Center camera"
I've been doing this, but the tutorial doesn't progress. Why...?

80 GB, which I've figured out is the problem.
I've heard that, with an 80 GB PS3, the game will "freeze" at the beginning of the tutorial, but by importing a save file right there and then, the game will progress as it should.
The only problem is I don't know how to import save files, lol.

No, I'm doing everything. And I think I've figured out the issue. Having an 80GB PS3 screws up the tutorial, but I think I've found a solution.
I'll let you guys know if it works soon...

True. Do PS2 games just work or do you have to do anything to the PS3 to make them work?

Well, you have to create a PS2 save file in the main menu (somewhere in the save data utility or whatever) to be allowed to save Ps2 games onto the PS3. However, a few PS2 games don't work with either the 40, 60, or 80 GB PS3s. RE: COM works, but "freezes" at a specific point, which is what my problem is.

2nd gen consoles are better than the new ones, 3rd gen consoles kinda go with more power and less secure.
About the topic,
I recently rented the game, my PS3 just freezes everytime, and figured out because of the TV also, it gets slowers and calibrating system doesn't work.

well you see the problem with the 80 gig is that it uses an emulator vs the 60/20 gig uses a chip to do it so you are kinda screwed i think till they update their software (or there might be other ways I dont know)

Thats the thing the more epxnsive oens therefore the highest GB ps3 should have the capabilities to play PS2 games without problems.

I figured it out.
If you own an 80 GB PS3, and attempt to play through RE: COM, you will "freeze" at the tutorial. Here's what you need to do:
If you own a PS2 (or even a 40 or 60 GB PS3) start new game on it, and then save once you get past the tutorial. Afterward, you can use what's called a Memory Card Adapter (Not positive on the name. I'll check to make sure it's correct) to transfer the saved data from the PS2 over to the PS3. It should work fine, then.
