ARE YOU READY FOR A COMPLETELY NEW FIGHTING EXPERIENCE?

So here you are wanting to enter right? Well here's all that you need to know before you start making a team.

TEAMS:

Like any other SSFW, IV will have a set of teams, but this time it is more personalized because instead of being assigned a team, you get to pick it yourself. What you need to remember is that you need a specific team that links four characters together. Make a topic too broad and it will surely get denied. Also once someone has taken a topic and reserved it, it is off limits. Keep in mind that when choosing a team, SSFW isn't until summer of '09 so you have plenty of time to choose a team that's just right for you. Also keep in mind that teams will probably have people eliminated from them, meaning you shouldn't choose a team with all excellent team members on them, because the final round may come to only one of you making it.

BATTLES:

The battles in SSFW VI are going to be completely unique. I cannot reveal too much right now but I will say that teams battling each other won't be the only system of fighting. SSFW IV will incorporate different systems of judging as the rounds go meaning you won't necessarily be kicked after a round, you may get killed off DURING a round if the judges so wish it. Battles will probably be more interactive too, meaning that you should choose a team that is in the same timezone as you, otherwise you might be completely screwed. Teams will also be the deciding factor in any combat sequence, if you run off like a lone ranger and go up against 4 members of the same team, you will without a doubt be eliminated during the round. The terrains of SSFW IV will also be unlike any other you have ever seen, they will not only give you a goal, but set you off on a week long adventure to find something, awaken some sleeping beats or escape an exploding building before it topples on top of you. In order to pass each round you must complete objectives as if you were playing a video game, failing to do so will mean a team elimination (eliminating a person from your team by voting.

ELIMINATIONS:

Here's a helpful list of ways you can get eliminated

Getting killed by another team
Failing to stick with team (this will be explained later)
Not following rules
Ignoring objectives
Failing score on mission
Team members vote to remove you

Fighting:

Fighting will consist of a normal RPG fighting style, but in team fighting you must remember four members on either side can act before another side is given the option. In this style of fighting if a lone fighter faces a team, the rule that specifically hinders a member from killing a person is eliminated and that said person is removed from the games. This is why it's important to stick with your party while fighting. Keep in mind that you can form alliances with other teams to beat missions, but your ultimate goal is to do better than these teams, if you see the chance to take out a single member you should do so, corner them in a part of the mission that will allow you to take them down. Remember that once you have made a move you cannot make another one, you must either wait until the person you are fighting acts back, or simply logs out, which clears you from all duties. Remember that in this SSFW you will be given certain items to help you clear you missions, and these items will be used to complete fighting tactics and help you win missions.

JUDGING:

JUDGING:

Grammar/Spelling: How well can you RP often depends on how accurate your spelling and grammar. If you have bad spelling, you will not get a good score. Try using Microsoft Word before posting to double check your posts.

Detail/Imagery: This is how well you describe your surroundings and actions in a sequence. Try using bold new words but keeping it simple for other contestants to read. Rather than using the same words to describe something, pick up a thesaurus. If you don't describe something well, other contestants and judges will be confused.

Action/Background: This is reliant on how well you know your character. If you know how your character will act in a situation based on previous knowledge, you can clearly respond immediately in character. You have to know your characters powers in order to RP, but some background knowledge on the character, and flashbacks, add some detail to the post.

Thoughts/Emotions: Your character is not a robot (unless he is) so put some thoughts and emotions into your post. If your character is doing something, connect it to an emotion. Also make sure you let us know what's going on in your characters head, or we won't be able to tell the inner conflict.

Rules/Objective Response: How well you follow the SSFW rules is a huge part of your score. If you go around dodging every attack and killing characters, your score will be drastically lowered. You need to find a balance between immortality and mortality. Also, pay close attention to goals in the round, often times there is an overlying objective for you to reach. Side fights, and action are good, but remember, you need to try and stick to the objective.
