How did you first get interested in Kingdom Hearts? [Archive]

Well I saw the commercial to kingdom hearts 1 and I thought the look a good game it borrow for friend who borrow from a friend for half game and the entire summer. I already beat the game but I kept on playing it choosing different options at the beginning of the game sword wand, shield wand, and many others.
When I know there a second one was in the making I surf the web for more information. Learning more about it each time I logged on.

i had heard about kingdom hearts a while back and i was like "omg! that's sooo cool!", but then, unfortunatly, I let the idea go, i mean, i only had a PS, and i just sort of lost intrest, but then i met a friend named Patrick, who let me play for a little while on his game, and i was automatically hooked... great story, eh?

For me......well I had gone to Blockbuster with the intention of renting another gme but they didn't have it so I ran across KH1 and said this might be good, so I rented KH1 instead. And from the moment I got home and stuck it in my PS2 I was obessed.

zomg almost the exact for me, i was going to get spider man the game lol and i they didnt have it so i bought kingdom hearts instead then damn i was on that. i didnt get it till like it was a greatest hit or w/e. i am looking for the original one cuz i want one with the holloq cas

Actually... you know... I saw the commercial for it... and by chance I saw it at the store and I could of had any video game but I decided to get Kingdom hearts.... and after that it's just history... So I guess I was lucky to get it..

lolllll, i was 12 years old and it was near Christmas time when i saw the commercial that played Simple and Clean on it, and i heard and i liked it, and from the moment after i saw the commercial my imagination kicked it lol. i kept stressin' my parents about the game so i got it for Christmas along with a new PS2 and Tekken Tournament, i was excited but then i got a little bit sad because my controller wasnt compatible with the console. plus i was sick and that made me a lil' bit sadder, i had ta wait about a week to play it, but in the mean time i was lookin' through the book and the case. Then when i got the new controller i could play it but i didnt have a memory card so i had to fight with some ppl that wanted to turn it off:mad: and play Tekken lol

yeah it was new but it didnt come with a controller for some reason, i think my parents bought a Mad Catz controller, the real old one maybe for the PS1 or somethin'.

i got the ps2 for my birthday in like 5th or 6th grade, and kh was the only game i saw the commercial for on the disney channel so i knew it got it...

I saw the game {KH1} in my local game store, and was automatically attracted to the shiny cover. lmao. So I decided to rent it, without fully examining it. When I got it home and saw the back cover I was like, 'Oh crap, it's Disney.' Lmao. I played it for a while, gave up a few times; especially with the tiger in the desert. I got hooked, but after awhile I forgot about it. A couple of months later I saw it for sale so I decided to buy it. And the rest, they say, is history. Lmao. :p

Hmm I remember like it was a couple of years ago. I was watching thouse things that brainwash you between tv show's and I saw it and thought it looked cool but my freind thought it was childish (Which is why he is now a heartless) at the time I didnt have a PS2 but got one a few days later and I never regretted it.

A friend of mine lent it to my children to play. I was so intrigued I started playing it myself. I was already a Disney fan and couldn't wait to see the bits of what was happening at the Disney castle. By the time I got through Traverse Town and realised I was going to visit Disney Worlds, I was completely and utterly hooked.

The game has never let me down, although now I am more intrigued with the story of the main characters than I am with the Disney.

My brother used to buy a PS2 magazine every month, and with it, a CD with previews and demo's etc. And one of the previews was for KH1. I remember saying to him that it looked interesting, but he didn't agree. When it first came out, I think I rented it from Gamestation for a few days, just to see if I was going to be wasting my money... and when I first played it I was hooked.

More or less. I probably would've gotten into it eventually, though, because I heard and saw a lot about it afterwards. And I'm a Final Fantasy fan, and Kingdom Hearts is usually linked to FF. So, either way it goes, it's likely that I would've picked it up, anyway.

Well...how I got involved...was a bit strange...

I was sitting at home playing DDR (This, btw, was 3 1/2 years ago) on my XBox....when I got bored and let my bro and his friends play. Then I picked up the PS2 and started playing that because I figured I might as well do something while I'm doing nothing. So I turn it on and it's my long time rival; Kingdom Hearts. Before this day I absolutely hated this game, and thought it was the stupidest thing ever. Until finally I played it and actually found it to be sooo fun.

i got it when it came out to play it cause i thought 'hey disney and square plus fighting shouldn't be that bad,' i couldn't get passed traverse town cause i didnt know u had to talk to sid in the shop so i sold it back to gamestop about a month before kh2 came out i was liek what the heck ill give it a shot again went to buy it again beat it within a week i felt releived lol then kh2 came out and i got hooked with the story and all that...so yeah

i think that kh was a little too complicated because you had to go to each of the world in a certant order. but the storyline kept me irerested long enough til kh2 and kh2 was and still is the best game ever, at least in my opinion.

after i got it it was a little bit of a let doown for me but it got way better. then CoM came out in a commercial and i thought it'd be cool to play but then i learned that it was played with cards so i didn't play it. then a little bit after kh2 came out i played it then bought CoM because it said it'd connect the dot between kh and kh2 and i ended up haveing a ton of fun with it.

i seen an artical in the "news" section of a gaming magazine a couple of years before the games release.

As a huge fan of the final fantasy series, i was obviously interested from then on.
As soon as i played the game i fell in love, i was just mesmerised by the plot line and the style of the game, it exceeded my expectations by miles.

since then on, iv had a huge interest in the kh games. ta-da.

The woman at the cashier said that it takes a little while but its a great game and that he and her boyfriend played it at night and rated it a TEN out of TEN.

Well..I was around 13 when I noticed the game at my local Gamestop. I never heard about it..but the graphics, and the idea that we could travel to different Disney worlds...sounded cool. Firstly I was never really into RPGs so the first time seeing KH as more of a 'meh' moment. My cousin bought and he had almost finished the game, but he couldn't beat Sephiroth. After learning the basic moves I beat Sephiroth for him and that's when I borrowed the game and played for myself. Eventually I got my own, but I'm not sure where it is anymore. lol.

My friend Mike was into KH and he told me about it. So I go and rent the game and play. Absoulutley loved it so I had to go out and buy it. That was in 8th grade, nearly 5 years ago. I've been a fan ever since.

I was reading some game reviews for Splinter Cell and Final Fantasy one day when I suddenly ran into a review for Kingdom Hearts. I read it to see what it's about and suddenly got a interest in it since it's a game where there's magic and Disney combined and is similar to Final Fantasy (I like magic, love Final Fantasy, and am a fan of Disney). The reviews had high ratings and so I thought to myself that this must be a good game. Later on, a friend of mine let me borrow his game of KH1 for a few weeks. Once I started playing it, I was hooked on it and fell in love with it that I went on to get my own game of Kingdom Hearts. From then on, I got many Kingdom Hearts games to add to my collection.:D :D :D

Well, I've always heard about Kingdom Hearts. My cousin bought the game a few years ago and I thought it was cute with the way they combined Final Fantasy with Disney.

Then, on my 18th birthday this year, my friends came over to my house for a sleepover right after my party and one of them brought along her Kingdom Hearts game. I played it out of curiosity and boredom and since then I've been hooked.

Somewhere around 2000 or 1999 there was a preview for a game at the end of the credits.
It looked really cool. I wish I remember whcih movie video tape that was....

I remember how I first got into it, I was watching t.v. and I saw an interview of it on t.v. and I'm a big fan of the orginal disney movies, so I thought the game looked cool and I bought it, and that's my story.

To tell you the truth, I had never played Final Fatasy until I started playing Kingdom Hearts, since then I've loved the ff and kh games. I played all the Kingdom Hearts!!!:)

Like almost everyone else, I saw it on a commercial for Disney, and I saw that it had Disney (obviously). I said to my Mom, "I have to get that for Christmas!" I opened it up on Christmas Eve and there it was. One of the best Christmases I ever had. Ever since I've been obsessed with it. It also introduced me to Final Fantasy (another AWESOME game). I owe alot to this game. :D

I heard about it before it back when it was being developed and thought like a lot of people did that it was a strange idea and would never work so I just ignored it. The at some point my girlfriend started complaining to me about how KH2 was out in American and Japan yet it was gonna be months before it was out here. So I decided that since it was going to be ages till it was out and that she probebly wouldn't get hold of it untill a few weeks after it was released, that I would buy it for her but not tell her I was going to. So then it was delayed again and again so I forgot about it but then I just happened to remember about it one day so went online to find out when it was released and it turned out to be in a few days. So I was in Tesco the day beofre release and found it so I just went a bought it. So I give it to her and she was very excited and almost killed me for spending money on her. So we went back to her house as I wanted to see what all the fuss was about so she put it in and strated to play it and she even let me do the gummi ship missions (only cos she was suposed to be doing something else) but after this I forget about it as I didn't have a PS2. Then a few months later I was at her house while she was fighting Xigbar and she had to go do something so she told me to have a go which I did and eventually beat him for her and that was it I was hooked. I went a bought a cheep PS2 and borrowed her copy of Kh and the rest is history, role on Kingdom Hearts 3 or whatever it's gonna be called.

Well when the first Kingdom Hearts was released, I remember seeing the commercial and thought, 'This looks pretty intresting.' But I didn't have a Playstation 2(I was more of a Nintendo fan back then)so I let it pass. Then Chain of Memories was out and my brother got to see how it was. Once he beat the game, I gave it a go but I didn't like the card system. A few months later, I had forgotten all about Kingdom hearts, but we got a PS2 with FFX. Then I started liking the Final Fantasy series. Finally in 2005 when KHII was release in America, I saw the commercial and went ahead to buy Kingdom Hearts I. After that, I was completely obsessed.

I saw the Kingdom Hearts commercials on television, it didn't look very appealing, but when I could buy a game worth my money, Kingdom Hearts looked like it could PWN ALL! I saw the trailer for it that was on the Disney channel. I ended up buying the game even before I had a PS2 or a Memory Card! I had to start the game over and over again every time I got to a different house. Lucky for me I was only 7 at the time and didn't even pass Destiny Islands. I bought the game after hearing my friends talk about it and I remember my friend Carly telling me that Squall (AKA "Leon") was in it and being a giant Squall fan I had to buy it (I later found out that Aerith was in it as well which made me want it even more).

I think I was 7 when my sister and I first saw the commercial for it on TV. (i'm 14 now) My sister was 8. She said it looked AWESOME. Every time she saw a commercial for it, she bounced off the walls. But there was one problem: we didn't have a PS2. On Christmas morning that year, we woke up and started unwrapping our presents. Two particular presents were each labled to both of us. So first we both unwrapped the larger one, and it was PS2! We could only know what that meant. We rapidly unwrapped a smaller, DVD sized present. It was Kingdom Hearts! We unwrapped the rest of our presents. To our surprise, we got the KH strategy guide. After unwrapping the rest of our presents we cleaned up, ate a BIG breakfast, and turned on our PS2 (though it took a while to figure it out). We played it slowly at first, but then we soon became attached to it. My sister and I were obsessed with trying to beat it before 2003 arrived. We played a few hours every day. Unfortunately, it took us near the end of January to beat it. But, it was a fun experience. Two years later, we started hearing our friends at school talking about "Kingdom Hearts II". After a few months of hearing about it, I saw a commercial for it. I was so excited! The next day, my sister saw it and she was excited too. In an anime magazine, I read that there would be a Pirates world. My sister was already a big fan of the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, so she was even MORE excited. Every Easter morning, we get candy AND either a movie or game. For Easter in 2006, I got Kingdom Hearts II as a present. I knew then that I was hooked on the game. There was no strategy guide, but I didn't give 2 sh!ts!!! Later that morning, my sister and I sat down once again to play another amazing game. We took turns every once in a while. After about two weeks, we got to the end.

I heard about it being a game related to Final Fantasy but involving many Disney characters through various gaming magazines and Internet forums. I eventually asked specifically on a forum if the game was worth buying and how the Disney characters effected the game. I was told by many enthusiasts that I should definately get the game and that the Disney characters were funny and made the game even better, and that in a sense because wacky characters like Donald and Goofy were in the game they sort of contrasted with the darkness in the game in a way that enhanced it.

After hearing so many enthusiastic replied I bought the game, and playing through it confirmed everything that the members had told me and basically have been into Kingdom Hearts ever since, it now being my favourite video game series.

Well, I hadn't even heard of Kingdom Hearts when I saw a friend playing it on his PS2 one day. He was on Wonderland at the time. As soon as I saw a FF-style character fighting with Disney characters, I was hooked. I watched him play it for a while, but never watched him finish the game. Ironically, he has a Epilepsy (seizure disorder) now, and his doctor prefers that he stays away from video games. In fact, the first seizure he ever had was at my house. He was playing Tony Hawk Underground on my GCN... It was scary.

I didn't actually play the game until this year. I didn't have a PS2 until this year either. So, I guess that makes it excusable. I remembered hearing about the game from friends, and watching my friend play it. So, I walked into GameStop and bought a used copy a month ago. I just beat it today actually. LOL! It's one of the best games I've ever played. I am going to get CoM from my GF, and buy KHII tomorrow. Hopefully, KH3 (or whatever it's going to be called) comes out soon.

i saw the trailer, and i rely liked disney (i didnt even kno bout final fantasy) and then my sister wuz the 1 who actually bot it, and she started playing it, but she thot it wuz boring and 2 hard (she wuz like 9 or somethin lol i wuz like 10) then i tried it out, and i wuz 2 the part where u have have the wooden sword and u cant fite the heartless, but i couldnt figure out what 2 do. so i just pretty much gave up on it. then summer 06, bout the time wen kh2 came out, i saw a commercial bout it, and so thts wut got me interested in it agin. so i started playin it again, and i found out tht my friend also liked kh, so we gave each other tips. so in about sept of 06, i bot kh2 (altho i rented it once, be4, but got stuck at the most rediculous part) and i started playin kh2 as i wuz in the final parts of kh. i restarted kh another time because in the game i wuz 2 lazy 2 fite random heartless. so i started over and beat it in about january 07, wich wuz actually after i beat kh2, wich i had started over @ least 3, times cause my bro sometimes deleted my game wen he wuz mad at me. once i started over myself because i wuz agin 2 lazy 2 fite random heartless. so i beat kh2 in dec 06 during christmas break. now back 2 my friend: he helped me out A LOT with the kh games. here r reasons why: #1. he told me bout final fantasy. he is the reason why i am now a ff fan. i have ff 1, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12. #2. he told me bout chain of memories. i didnt even kno there wuz a gameboy kh until he told me. so i just HAD 2 go buy it!!! #3. he has kept me interested in the game, first helping me defeat ursula in kh. and now, im a kh freak, a ff freak, and ive beaten all 3 (main) kh games, now waitin 4 the nxt 3 games.

out of all 3 of the games out right now id say that COM was the hardest. reverse/rebirth wasnt that hard but in general it was

well is sora's story of com, it can actually be very easy, but with riku it can be hard since u can't change the deck, the only hard part out of both stories, for me it would have to be in reverse/rebirth mode fighting riku for the last time in TT. With limited life and the 0s scattered about i tmade quite the challenge.

I first got into KH when I got this Jampck CD and the commerical was on that disc, and Iasked for KH on Christmas and I've loved it since.

Well..

I was little when I got the game, but I think I can remember.

I was over my friends house, and I was going to Giant Eagle's movie rent store . I was obsessed with this "friend" of mine so I called him and asked him what game to get. He first said .. get street basketball.

I told him I didn't like those kinds of games so I hung up. Than my mom said we had to go so I hurried up and got KHI randomly..

Little did I know it was my favorite game.:o

Sora's was more of a breeze although it did take longer since alot more cutscenes and have to revise the deck over and over, but as far as difficulty Sora's is way easier.

Well it was 2003 and I was at the local video store looking for a game to rent and i was tired of the same old games, always either sports or action adventure that had no depth. I always read about Kingdom Hearts and my girlfriend at the time said she always wanted to play it and i rented it and i like it a bit but it wasn't until my girlfriend started playing. Me and her was just hooked on the game it became a competition between the both of us to see who would beat it first of course she did but once i learned everything about it and knew some of the quick hints of how i be better i played it through again and then i knew and understood to be sure to through it step by step instead of skipping things.

I just really started enjoying game and learning more and more i could about the game. Its the one thing brings me fond memories of my ex. I simply love the game now. Counting the days, months, and years until Kingdom Hearts 3.

it seems like a story like this: my first intention were to buy a game...that were just like any other game...no specific characteristics...BUT! when i first took a look on K1 cover my mind were set..i started playing it...i't made me sit and play it 2 days in a row...back then(3 years) i were 13..... hahaaa...it was good times.....:P yet i would like to start it all over again..all the trills...but...thus i cannot.i've completly overthrown K1''s secrets and bosses....everysingle one of em..now..i were to serriusly break down of nothing to do...me...just sobbing around...get's a glimpse in a game shop..and my eyes goes K2 IN AN INSTANT!! it was k2 in a game shop...i just walk in rub my hands a bit look at the price, open my cash book..aaaand....$_$ appears in my mind..thought it were annoying staying in a line of 10 people...for about 15 minutes.....it was WORTH IT!! hmhm..i went home and sat down...shaking as my hands were to put the cd in the PS2.:rolleyes:

Same sort of thing for me, except my friend brought it to my house instead of me going to his. After playing it for like half an hour, I decided that I needed to get the game for myself :p.

It all began on a wintry morn in the summer of... i can't remember, actually. Anyway, i saw the posters and ads all over the place, and was like, pfft, no. I mean, games made from movies always suck. So a game made from combining 12 movies? it's a recipe for disaster!

Plus, it was all like "Conquer the darkness and save your one true love" which is pretty much the plotline for every platformer ever.

But then i saw it at a friends house, thought it would be fun to laugh at. We booted it up, and I've been a KH fan to this day.

It seems like everyone just stumbled across it- is there anyone who saw actually thought it sounded good from the start?

I always liked the look of KH.
But was too sced that the disney wold ruin it and never bought it XD
One day Shadwlink persuaded me and I had enough and got me number 2, and I'm so glad I did :D

my next door neighbour had bought it, and didn't like it. he decided to give it to me, seeing as i liked, in his own words, "childish games".

i played it within 5 minute sof receiving it, and played it for 4 days non stop, completed it.. and the rest is history. i played it over and over to get the storyline perfectly set in my mind.. yea.

My cousin bought the game, and he and I are best friends/cousins/brothers, so of COURSE he'd wanna share it with me, and I got hooked pretty good. I'll show you the scars later. So I borrowed it from him, beat the game in three days(eat your hearts out) and tamely waited for the next game... Alright, I had rockets attached to my shoes, but the doctor said Grandma would be fine in six months.
