The Earth stood still on the day that one of heroes turned back the clock. That day, everyone will remember the unidentified agents running towards our heroes, them powering up, and the chaos that ensued. One of our heroes, a rewinder, used all of the power inside of him to turn back the clock, to save them from the impending doom.
Our hero mustered up all the energy he had left inside of him to summon one rewind, a rewind powerful enough to take them all back to when it all started. This courageous act, however, was not without drawbacks. The enormous amount of energy released during the rewind unlocked an unspeakable horror upon the unsuspecting heroes.

50 years ago, twelve individuals founded an enormously funded operation called Project Zodiac. These twelve people started a huge operation that hunted, studied, and recorded genetically abnormal individuals. That is, people with abilities. With a secret passed on to them from their ancestors, the twelve Founders created a machine, the goliath known as the Zodiac's Jewel.
The machine was made up of three pieces, each one crucial to the machine's overall performance. The three pieces were the Claw of Serpentarius, the Mind of Ptolemy, and the Heart of Ophiuchus.
The first piece, the Claw of Serpentarius, was a swinging pendulum in the shape of an unknown creature's claw. The enormous pendulum swung from the ceiling powered by a complex engine/supercomputer, the Mind of Ptolemy. The thing propelling the Claw was a gargantuan formula created by the famous scientist, Ptolemy, in the 1st Century.
The final piece of the the machine is the Heart of Ophiuchus, which at first seemed like a giant tree inside of a larger circle drawn on the floor below the swinging Claw of Serpentarius. This tree was large and on the leaves were advanced LCD panels, technology that hadn't even been released to the public yet, which lit up pending on the results of the Mind.
With a single drop of blood, the Mind of Ptolemy could extract and copy the entire genetic sequence of a person, and then store inside of itself using miniscule circuits that enabled for virtually unlimited storage. Once the code was extracted, the Mind generated a new code, formed by Ptolemy's formula. This code was the most important part of the process.
With this code, the pendulum swung in specific, almost indiscernible patterns that made the LCD screens light up with numbers. These numbers were then sent back to the Mind and processed into words once again using Ptolemy's formula. The words formed by the conversion told of many things. It told of that individual's abilities, of his pre-destined soul mate, the one he was to marry, how many kids he would have, and which of them would have abilities.
With all the information that was being recorded, the Jewel soon became smart enough to no longer need live subjects, only names. With technicians inputting names and recording data all day long, the machine's archives were enormous in no time. The twelve founders took the information generated by the Jewel and formed an underground archive where the outside world could never find it. They named this place the Stellazio Library, after their zodiac-inspired names.
Soon, word got out about the secret operation and powerful humans sought out to stop their controversial project. Humans with unknown and stupendous powers attacked the secret underground facility and demanded that the Founding Twelve stop their operations and pay for the torture they inflicted. The Founding Twelve, however, had secrets of their own. They each had powers as well. Dark, unimaginable powers that literally terrified the attackers to death. They were dead before the Founders could even start to attack them.
Their leader, however, the man whom the machine was named after, was shocked to hear of the massacre. Their leader, Ophiuchus, was a nearly omniscient person with control over space and time. He took the founders and locked them each inside their own dimension where their horrific powers could do no harm.

Now, in the present time, chaos is happening. The energy released by the heroe's time rewind sent shockwaves through the Space/Time dimensions, breaking the locks created by Ophiuchus and releasing the Zodiac Twelve onto the world, with a vengeance.
The Zodiac Twelve, however, have another mission besides just destroying the world. They want to find the Zodiac's Jewel. They want to find the Jewel and use it to find the Stellazio library, where the whereabouts of Ophiuchus are. Once they kill Ophiuchus, they can take his abilities from him and truly rule the world the way they once intended to.
Our present day heroes, however, have no idea what is going on. All they hear is of the natural disasters occurring, the cities being destroyed, and the body count getting higher. When they finally investigate with a little help from Peter's friend, the Shadow Man, they are contacted by very shocking allies who hold the key to stopping the entire war.

The Zodiac Twelve
Aries: A huge man with the power of super strength, capable of picking up entire skyscrapers.
Taurus: A strange old man, who is oddly youthful looking. He can suck the life out of others and use their life force to restore his. In reality, he is about 300 years old and is the mastermind behind the operation.
The Gemini Twins: Two seemingly adolescent girls with two abilities Pale white, in white dresses, straight white hair, and blank reddish eyes. One, they have extremely spontaneous cell regeneration, which keeps them looking young and indestructible. And two, they can cast images upon others, inflicting their worst nightmares and making them feel horribly terrified. When together, they have very advanced telekinesis and can levitate things as large as airplanes. Counted as only one of the Twelve.
Cancer: A blind man with the ability of pure darkness. His black eyes can absorb all light from around him and plunge the area into completely darkness and grant him vision in the dark.
Leo: A friend of Aries. A strong looking man with the ability to look at people and inflict such terror upon them with his face that their faces turn white and their hearts simply stop beating.
Virgo: A beautiful woman with the ability to control people using only her voice. She can convince anybody in the world to do her bidding, even kill themselves.
Libra: A pretty girl, yet not as pretty as Virgo. Extremely jealous and has the ability to turn people against each other, although she also has the ability to balance a situation and turn it good.
Scorpio: An immensely handsome man. The unofficial leader of the Zodiac Twelve. He was always said to be a quick learner, but the truth is that his ability, in it's early stages, allowed him to absorb things from people's heads. Thoughts, techniques etc. Once he grew stronger, he started stealing abiities, started making his OWN archive of abilities, including his fellow Twelve's abilities.
Sagittarius: A creature completely covered in black and white. It has the ability to shape shift into anything it wants, even imaginary creatures. Since it can shape shift, it usually turns into another one of the Twelve so as to communicate with them. In battles, however, it takes on the shape of many dark and dangerous creatures that exist only inside of its mind.
Capricorn: A very plain looking woman. Seemingly harmless. She has the ability to restore life to dead things such as people or plants, or even give inanimate objects life. But she barely uses this ability. Her most frequently used power is to TAKE the life of other living things simple by touching them. She is typically used, in addition to Leo and Aquarius, as assassins.
Aquarius: A very, very skinny woman. Also tall. She has a huge mouth and uses it to suck in objects from around her. She is capable of holding many things, the largest being a building. Once she absorbs that thing, she quickly turns them into an acid like substance that she can then use to fight with. She is a very cold woman, and very hostile.
Pisces: A dark man. He is very quiet most of the time, but has the ability to control the four elements: Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth. He is also talented at Alchemy, capable of turning simple substances into gold. He is the finance behind the Operation.
