Square Enix will be holding a big gaming event for the Japanese this May, the latest issue of Famitsu reveals. The Square Enix Party 2007 will be held on the 12th and 13th of May at the Makuhari Messe, just outside of Tokyo. Admission is free, although you'll have to, of course, arrange for your own transportation.

The first Square Enix Party was held back in July of 2005 and proved quite popular, with over 45,000 attending over a two day span. Given the popularity of the 2005 show, we were surprised when last summer came and went without a similar event

Details on what will be shown at this year's show have yet to be revealed. The 2005 event saw a number of playable debuts along with a final release date for Final Fantasy XII, so we're hoping for something big once again.

Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+ is set to make an appearance at the upcoming Square Enix Party 2007. Japanese gamers will be able to try out the game, alongside other Square Enix games currently in development. Although KH2FM+ will be released by the time this event takes place, this very convention could possibly see the announcement of the already confirmed new Kingdom Hearts project. (Edit: Ok, so it won't see that announcement - See below.)

The makers of Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest have yet to announce a list of titles set to be exhibited. That being, with at least 13 games scheduled to go on sale in Japan before the end of the year, there probably will be more than enough reasons for fans to head for Chiba come May.

It's when you can experience various game software of SQUARE ENIX, with many fans and players, at the same time! There's a large event opening where publications don't stop at just the games and other various contents!!

I sure hope they do mention something about the Kingdom Hearts Project. We might hear it earlier then the summer then perhaps.

I hope KH3 isn't on the ps3 because I don't want to buy one. I should be on the Wii. The Wiimote would be the keyblade.

Hopefully Square will answer some of us KH fans questions about upcoming KH titles. To bad I wont attend though. I mean Colorado is quite a ways away from Tokyo. If only I could teleport....

That would be cool if square decided to take a series and join in again with Nintendo, like back in the good ole days. Also, the PS3 is soooo expensive and the only way im gonna buy it is if KH3 comes out on it. But at the moment no PS3 for me.

I never want to own the Wii...it just looks...I don't know...stupid!!

Square-Enix has always had a relationship with Sony...and I STRONGLY believe that they will not ruin that.

Yeah....I'm anxious to hear (well read off the internet ;) ) what the surprise is going to be? I wonder what it is.....Man..I hope its something good...Like Kh2: FM (+) being release internationally!!! :D

Hey...it does have nothing to do with the next KH project...for they've already worked on it...am I right?!?! :D But that would be such an amazing surprise...I'd think I jump up and scream to death! :D

Or...as some are speculating...a CGI movie will be released that will introduce KH3....I sure hope this "surprise" is worth waiting for.:D

Hello. Well, for the past year I've been subscribed to Independent Playstation Magazine, and in their June 2007 edition, there is a section that talks about the Square Enix Party 2007. I saw some interesting aspects in their article, and I'll pull them out right from the text! :D

"The last time Square Enix hosted a party back in July 2005, it used the event to unveil new playable demo versions of Kingdom Hearts 2 and Final Fantasy 12, ....."

"....a plethora (excess amount) of new videos and playable demos will be available at the event, including new videos of the Final Fantasy XIII family of games."

"Also, those gamers lucky enough to go to the party will be allowed (finally) to play Crisis Core for PSP...."

"....Tetsuya Nomura told the Japanese video game weekly Famitsu that there will be no news at the party about the third installment in the series."

"However, Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix + will be demoed on the show floor. We're really hoping that Square Enix will take the opportunity to announce an American release plan for the game."

"Square Enix says that it will unveil an entirely new Final Fantasy at the show. Could this be the long-rumored Final Fantasy 7 remake?"

Well, I hope this at least gives you at least some clue as to the where abouts as how the Square Enix party will stand. Who knows, maybe we will get lucky enough to actually hear the fantastic news of KH2: FM + being released internationally!!! Till next time! ;)
