The beautiful land of Verutia was once inhabited by very few species of creatures. Before humans existed, the only animals in the world were:

These creatures coexisted in perfect harmony, until they came. The Crecions...they were monsters that ascended from a powerful crystal that rested at the north pole. Each Crecion was unique, and there were very few of them: Shiva the Crecion of Ice, Ifrit the Crecion of Flame, Ixion the Crecion of Thunder, Pandemona the Crecion of Wind, Odin the Crecion of Death, Mateus the Crecion of Water, and Bahamut the Crecion King.
These monsters all had rather violent instincts, and would destroy thousands of innocent creatures and gather their life energy to feed to the crystal. One day, when the crystal overflowed with energy, it shattered. This caused a random assortment of species to appear. The crystal's explosion created humans, mages, dwarves and elves.
For thousands of years, the Human Empire had suppressed the other races. The elves and dwarves were forced to live in scattered villages, but the mages, who were far more advanced in the art of magic, had built their own civilization; a large city called Daphiela at the north pole, on the land where the crystal once existed. Secretly, the mages had also created their own crystal that allows them to use magic and summon Crecions. Also, without their precious crystal, the mages would all perish.
Recently, the human armies have begun invading the cities of the elves and dwarves, slaughtering innocent creatures and taking prisoners, so that the power of the Human Empire would be feared throughout the world, and would be the dominant power in the land of Verutia. The mages, who had a great love for the elves and dwarves, greatly opposed this meaningless extermination that the humans had begun. So, the mages fought back, using magic and summoned Crecions to fight against the humans' advanced technology.
Slowly but surely, through interrogation of the elves and dwarves, the humans had discovered the secret of the crystal that the mages had created. They soon had a lust for more power, and wanted to capture the crystal to that they could use that power to defeat the mages and control the Crecions.
Races:
Mage- Main protagonist race, they live in the city of Daphelia at the north pole and use magic and summons
Human- Antagonist race, they live in major citys throughout the world and use physical attacks; the humans utilize airships for transportation, NOT chocobos
Dwarf- Minor protagonist race, they live in scattered villages throughout the world and use magic and physical attacks, but not summons; they utilize chocobos for transportation, NOT airships; the dwarves enjoy hunting down moogles and eating them
Elf- Minor protagonist race, they live in scattered villages throughout the world and use only magic, but not summons; they travel on foot, with no help from chocobos or airships; the elves enjoy hunting cactuars and chocobos, then eating them

4 - Your characters must conform to their race; for humans your character would have a modern/futuristic appearance and attitude. For Mages, Elves and Dwarves, your character would have a medieval appearance, but try to make them actually LOOK like their race. (and y'all who wanna be Mages, please don't just post a pic of Vivi, cuz I know that might be bound to happen, so I'm just warning you)
5 - Only one character per person.
6 - Make NO references to Earth. In the world of Verutia, there are no sports or movies or iPods or any of those certain things that can be found on our blue planet. Just try to make this world seem as believable as possible, please. Though, there can be cars, but don't mention any certain makes or models... AND there can be computers and phones involved in the story, but only the humans use these high-tech things like cars and airships and computers and phones.
