I don't really like either of them...

And you misspelled Forty-Two.
I was...uh....emphasizing the four?
My mistake.
Also, make sure you vote in the poll and not in a post

Well, I'm still thinking about my decision.
I would not vote, but I always want to make use of the advantage of being able to vote...
[I like voting.]
...
Kyo's.

Um. Please do not spam unless you are voting for one or the other. The point of the thread is not to suggest you hate both of them and to correct spelling mistakes. Sorry.
Edit: thank you.

I like Kyo's...
The contrast is nice and it still flows nicely.
Marly's has flow but... it doesn't have a certain factor that makes it pop out to me. :/

Kyo's is cleaner, and nicely toned.
For the win.

kyo's was cool. the only thing i have to say is that this is the one time where the focal point being big was a good thing.
good job.

In the end I am a lot more attracted to kyo's.
Don't be angry with this, I like to justify my vote with some reasoning.
Marly,
There is a lack of unity. The background and foreground don't relate to each other that much other than maybe color, but it still feels very disjointed. The white brushing at the top or whatever it is, makes everything else seem even more washed out because there is so much gray tone. But I like the fact that you didn't position Sora dead in the center which is good. Makes it less trite.
kyo,
Yours is a lot more interesting but also a lot more chaotic. I feel like the purple in the circles makes that seem more like of a focal point than the characters on the right, it definitely draws my eyes away.

I had the hardest time with the focal point. The stock is a manga cover that is B&W with certain parts (most of them not shown) colored in purple and that left a purple tint on the rest of the stock. I tried to get a purple vector but it was too bright and distracting so I put a low-opacity which layer and blurred it a tiny bit
Then Marly wanted to just post the thread so I just left it the way it is

The white was actually my attempt at lighting. Dx Thanks for the CnC.
@Kyo: I didn't tell you you had to post the thread this second. =\ I said anytime was fine.

Ah I see. But I hope part of the objective wasn't to be a slave to the picture. You could've adjusted the colors. Some vector shapes can look so harsh and sleek that they just draw attention away. I think something more organic would've worked better in this instance.
Would've voted against Kyo's if that plastic - wrap of a blur didn't help out its composition. Anyway, voting for Kyo because of my preference of aesthetics.
You're coming along, sunshine.
