View Full Version : SSFW IV - Round 4 "The Lost Realm"

Judge of Courage
06-22-2009, 07:55 AM
The harsh darkness whips away the remaining contestants and sends them hurtling through a rough asteroid field past the demons of the third moon and into the stars. They land on an earth very much like their own, but it has been tainted with the blood of other animals. Giant lizards and their Rhino-men riders roam the land, taking captive any foreign substance to hit the planet. The heroes, for once, have the chose; they can remain with their teams, form new teams, or disband themselves and go the competition alone. Now the choice seems to become clear. The SSFW becomes a dog-eat-dog competition and they must take out who they can before they themselves are lost.

And yet again, in some miraculous way, Vegeta had survived another round in the game. This time, in this round however, he decided once and for all to cut ties with anyone, fearing they would hinder his inevitable victory. He knew he had the power to rid of all combatants that faced against him, however, it seemed this game was based on rounds. Not knowing if his power would return, he decided never to show the full extent of his power. The thought of this made him chuckle, reminding Vegeta of a time 2 rounds ago, when he had gone into a Super Saiyan 4 to protect people. He now could see that there was no point, someone was going to have to come out a winner. And the victor would be the Prince of Saiyans.

He opened his eyes, looking at his immediate area, and could see he was in some kind of odd city, with bright lights, almost a replica of Earth. But his instinct was telling him this was some kind of illusion. A trick, such as the tricks in the previous rounds. But Vegeta was not falling for it this time, as he walked down the sidewalk, the town seemed uninhabited. "Maybe I am alone. Finally, some time for peace and quiet." he thought, as he tried to concentrate his Ki into finding an energy source to see if there were any enemies in his midst. Almost as if something were reading his mind, a creature came out of a dark alley, sending yet another smirk riding up Vegeta's face.

The monster, a lizard of some kind, gave the Saiyan Prince its' most menacing look, as if it were trying to scare him away. Little did the foe know that it would soon be blown to oblivion, as Vegeta shot into Super Saiyan 1, and charged his arms to his side, creating the purple energy ball he knew all too well. "I think it's time you get out of my way" he warned the creature, who did not budge an inch. "If that is what you wish" he said, as the energy shot purple lightning. The monster charged, opening its' mouth to eat Vegeta like an appetizer. "Galick Gun!" were the final words the lizard heard, as Vegeta threw the ball into the monsters' mouth, causing it to implode, shooting its' guts everywhere. But Vegeta was not phased. He had no remorse from here on. It was all or nothing.

Peter was about to send another bolt of lighting down the ice rod, when suddenly darkness swept around him. He was blind, lost in a world of twisting galaxies, asteroid fields and stars. As he spun round and round, not of his own will; he thought he saw a giant moon, but then it was swept away in the darkness that once again surrounded the young man. With a yell, the force that had moved him from the ghost town; spat him out like a bad taste on to another planet. Peter yelled out as he fell down into the new world, he quickly righted himself and managed to stop his fall centimeters from smashing into a building.

He hovered in space for a moment, before dropping to the ground and looking around, feeling his stomach, he noticed that the wound from the ice spear had already healed. “Damn it!” He swore as he punched a fist into the ground, making a dent. I can’t believe I missed him again…..damn you Sylar… Peter thought to himself as he beat the ground, making more dents. After a few minutes his rage was spent, and reason came back to him. He looked around again, and noticed that he was in a place that looked a lot like earth. Am I home?... he wondered to himself; and then he suddenly realized that it wasn’t possible that he was, this earth was much to advanced then the earth he was accustomed to. There were massive skyscrapers and different buildings for one, as well as a weird transportation system hovering above the sky.

So then if this isn’t earth…..where am I…. Peter scanned the landscape again, but saw no mention of his team, or anybody else for that matter. The fact that he wasn’t with a team unnerved him, but also relieved him, without a team he would not be forced to fight the evil monster within him, the one that wanted to bite, kill, murder. Shaking of the dark thoughts, Peter waited to see what his instructions were for this place.

He didn’t have to wait long, as a message was written on the pavement in front of him. It has become dog-eat-dog…a fight to the death…fight whoever you want… As Peter read the message, his evil side started to come out. Fight, kill, find the knowledge within each person....and then take it….. Peter’s body seemed to squirm while this struggle took place within him. No…..I’m good….I won’t hurt nobody…. Peter seemed to twist backwards and his eyes rolled back into his head and then back into his eyeballs. You must kill, you must satisfy this power…. As this struggle raged within him, Peter realized that if someone, anyone appeared now, he wouldn’t be able to stop himself from attacking them and attempting to rip them to shreds.

Satisfied with his kill, Vegeta once again walked forward, looking around the corner, only to see a human. "Interact......or die? I wonder?" he thought, walking around the corner. It was as if Babbiti had taken over once again, and Vegeta could only think of power. But that was the purpose of this game. Yet the creature with the most docile appearance tends to create the greatest destruction.

So he began to wonder if it was his best decision to even come in the presence of this human. That is when the answer became clear. It involved some trickery, but it may just work. As he walked down the sidewalk, with rain pouring from the sky, making the air more humid than ever, Vegeta walked right pass the person without a second glance, not even acknowledging his existence. He hoped this would work to his advantage.

"Its' a dog eat dog world at this point. And only the best can stay. I have seen the others lag around, waiting for me to do the dirty work. Well, no longer. I will kill anyone that stands in my way or slows me down. I am no longer the savior of those too ignorant not to stand up and fight."

He powered down from his Super Saiyan appearance, bringing back his sleek, shiny black spiky hair, which soon, was as wet as his clothes. But the rain did not and would not deter Vegeta from his goal, as he continued to walk down the street, waiting for some kind of reply, as he put his hands behind his head and began to hum a weird sort of tune.

Darkness of unnatural malice swarmed the edges of his vision, killing area and light from his sight. For a while the legendary hero could only stand and wait; surely this is a sign of exhaustion! When he did began to struggle he was already a goner, the enslaving dark trapping his strength within the confines of nothingness. As if submerged in water Luke Skywalker's lungs began to burn painfully as his eyes bulged and his chest sunk. What is this? What will happen? How do I escape? A silent prayer to the Force escaped his lips, but they fail to respond.

He almost wished that he could die right here right now. Too many times have he asked the same questions in the face of ugly politics. Too much too dark burdened his shoulders until he broke and killed Lumiya, a Sith responsible of his wife's death, in vengeance. He almost never knew peace except for his younger, youthful days. He knew later of war and death like the back of his hand. Still, he never give up, and that resolute gave way to true joy everytime.

But this? By the Force I hope no one else suffers like me and the others in this hopeless, pointless game.

The night skies of glittering stars greeted him as wind slipped away from his feet. Suddenly aware that he was released his insides gave way to relief; but the bolt of realization that he was freefalling was... Yikes.

The young adult opened his mouth in surprise, "Whoaaaa, Umph!!!" The next second later he crashed painfully on to the roof of a speeding car, the impact of metal against bone jarring his senses to the point of complete disorientation. Unfeeling momentum sent him flying towards the concrete floor of a modern highway and thud! A sickening crack officially announced a broken nose and spraying blood fountain. It was pretty surprising that his teeth are actually intact.

"Gagh..." For a time of excruciating pain and dizziness all Luke could do was to give ghastly moans of pain and that's all. He wouldn't move and perhaps couldn't; who knew what bones he broke with that lousy landing? Not that I had a chance to try landing at all... Then he rolled suddenly around with no difficulty and held his nose in a pinch. There was need of a healing Force trance; while an injury like this is too minor to be bothered he had to stop the bleeding. There could also be internal bleeding and fractured bones he might not detect.

However, as Luke crawled his pitiful way to the side to meditate, he was at ease because when he looked around casually, finally and at last, this place.

It felt like home.

It was then that Peter’s greatest fear, yet also greatest hope walked right in front of him. Peter’s eyes quickly focused and he watched the young, slim man walk past him, somehow changing his appearance from spiky, yellow, hair back to slick, black that also stood up. Attack…no warning…NOW! Yelled Peter’s evil side within him, for he had read the man’s mind and saw that he also wanted to kill. Yet Peter was still holding on to his sane side. No….what has he done…..to…..me…. Peter slowly got weaker, until he retreated into himself to gather strength, as his evil side took over his body and let out small laugh.

“Finally” the evil Peter muttered to himself, he then turned to the man that was almost out of sight. “HEY YOU!” he yelled out, almost breaking a window with the force of his yell. “Prepare to defend yourself!” With another wordless yell, Peter let out a shout that was filled with his powerful sound waves, it was meant to force the man backwards and hopefully smash him into a building. After a few seconds, Peter cut of his yell, and cracked his neck, before letting out a menacing laugh. No…..don’t…do…this…. Peter cried from within. Shut up you…… The evil side thought back, before letting out another crazy laugh.

Yet again, that familiar feeling of falling asleep...but these dreams were not as peaceful as the others Amaterasu had seen. It felt as if she was being flung about the cosmos, her body powerful in the grip of some strange magnetism. She was witness to the most extravagant nebulae in the universe, and felt the heat of a supernova eons away. Suddenly, she found herself falling down, with incredible speed, towards one planet...

The dream ended there. Once more, Amaterasu stirred, and opened her weary eyes to a new place. It was unlike anything in heaven or earth. She has lying on a platform of undescernable material, in a bleak metropolis that stretched as far as as the eye could see. Twisted towers towered above her in all directions.

Too shocked to even whimper, Ammy got up slowly, and waited for the voice in the back of her conciousness. It had never been her nature to question her circumstances, only to make best of what was happening. Soon, the soothing voice came:
‘This round is a fight to the death. Fight who you wish, with or without your teams. Form new teams, if you wish, but beware of the guardians of this place’

The message left her feeling more horrified than ever. To the death? Okami Amaterasu did not kill people. Ever. Fretfully, she tried to dig her claws into the ground beneath her, but it was hard like steel. In her heart, she dreaded the thought of having to kill somebody, but she needed to survive these trials in order to return to the Celestial Plains.

She remembered Neku, and looked around for him. His smell was nearby, but he was not in sight. Already, she had decided to stay by him; loyalty was high on her list of priorities.
As she begin to move to search from him, a monstrous cry echoed from the shining city. The guardians...She could smell them, now that she concentrated, along with a permeating odour of blood. Ammy shuddered, and set off up the curved ramp she has awoken on.

"HEY YOU!" yelled the human, as Vegeta turned around with a stoic expression on his face. He did not fear this person, whoever or whatever it was. "Prepare to defend yourself!" he said, letting out a fierce roar, that which would make a lion quake in his paws. A scream that caused the windows of the buildings to smash into millions of pieces, raining down on the two like a crystal rain. A yell that would make any normal person want to run away, or rather, they wouldn't run, because the force would blow them away. But Vegeta was not a normal person.

He stood his ground, and began to contemplate, not about his strategy, but what level of power he should use. "Super Saiyan 1 or 2? He does seem like a formidable opponent. But I do not want to drain my energy too much. I've already used my last Senzu bean." Finally, he decided that he would power to Super Saiyan 2, to make this end quicker, because he knew, that this person was not the only one here. He would have to eliminate everyone that stood in his way if he was going to make it home. To the ones' he really cared about.

Vegeta concentrated his Ki energy, and soon, lightning began to fall from the sky, almost as if to fight Vegeta's energy. "Hmph. You are just a mere boy. I am not afraid of you.I will show you power! he yelled to the boy, as the sparks began to fly, and the hair of Vegeta began to glow a bright yellow, and the aura of Vegeta shown almost as bright as the Sun, giving him the appearance of a God. But Vegeta was no God. He was just a Saiyan.

He rushed at the boy, giving him every punch and kick possible, his strength upgraded in this state of power. But he knew it wouldn't be enough.

Delirious little Delirium was standing still when the change happened. The world spun around her and the sights before her changed rapidly. First darkness, then seemingly endless asteroid fields passed in a moment, then demons and stars, then stop; a whole new world before her eyes.
The change that just happened was so obvious and straight forward that not noticing it was nearly impossible. Not noticing it, or not even registering the change, would signify that one was both deaf and blind, or so used to similar sights that it was nothing unusual at all.
Delirium didn’t notice at all.
For her this was just another trip down crazy lane which she took way too often and flashy sights combined with unbelievable wonders happening in rapid succession was a common sight. For all she knew it had all just happened inside her erratic mind, and so she started walking slowly forwards, taking in the sights as if she was just another simple tourist searching for a good place to eat.

The place she found herself in reminded her of a world she liked to walk; planet earth. The people there were complex and entertaining, and more than often did people there take a stroll into Deliriums realm. She loved how simple some humans could be on the outside, yet on the inside they were a ticking time bomb. A time bomb Delirium occasionally liked to push a little forward.
This place, however, was devoid of humans, people or any other beings at the moment. She saw traces of them, like buildings, machines, discarded weapons, bones and both old and fresh blood, but nothing that moved. She found herself within a city, but it was dead. No sounds, no creatures (nO bIrdS, eVeN! I lOvE biRDs…), in fact, there was barely even any wind.

”CurIOuS! It’S aLmoSt aS iF…"
Delirium dragged out her sentence and closed her eyes slowly, then she turned quickly and yelled as loud as she could; ”THErE’s SOmEONe RIGhT bEHInD ME!!”
…there was no one there.
Her loud call was answered only by a short echo, then silence.

”wElL I wAs oNly joking…” she said silently, while staring at her feet and blushing slightly. Suddenly a bloodthirsty roar erupted from deeper within the city, a roar riddled with hateful emotions. Slightly after a similar scream of anger responded from the other side of the city somewhere, then a third one, and then a fourth. Delirium turned her head four times, each time looking in the direction of the roars filled with lust.

”oH nO!” Delirium exclaimed, clasping her hands to her chins, looking deeply disturbed. ”I fOrgOT tO brINg bArnAbY!”
What it was that had made her think of her trusted guardian, granted to her on infinite loan by her brother, no one could know. The frenzied roars barely even seem to affect her.

”nOw wHerE dId I laSt LeaVE yOU? NoW LeT’S sEe… yOu wEre wItH mE wHeN wE waLkEd ThRoUgh tHaT dArK pLacE. UHm, wHaT wAs iT caLlEd? SomEtHinG, ThaT’S fOr sUrE. The conversation went on and on and on, while Delirium walked carelessly without a worry deeper and deeper into the heart of the city. Not even in a hundred years had anyone spoken this many words at once in such silent and dead place.

Stars passed bye as the little green man slept. His mind was in need of much rest. After the battles and reactions in that little town he was dangerously close to going off the edge of hate and anger. As his body flew he could hear the voices of friends that had been in battle and had fought against in battle. So many lives have passed but I still remain? Along with Luke nonetheless. His thoughts drfted as his body began to get pulled into a planet.

As if by some sort of magic, the force had shielded the heat of comming into the atmosphere upon his decent. If someone was to look up and catch a glimps of him falling they would see what looked as if a blue commet was striking down. His body had traveled 2 minutes befor finding a resting place inside a citied area. The impact would have killed someone but for some reason he was spared and awoke without a scratch.

Looking around he could see what looked like a futuristic city. But it was not as advanced as Corusant. Yoda stood up and looked around even more. He was able to find a stick in which he could walk with since he was over 600 years old. No one seemed to be around him so he used his force ability to track Luke down. I shall find you. he thought to himself as he followed the force into the city.

Maka and Soul were torn away from their bodies, they spread apart and exploded into a million pieces and then were hurled through space and time until they began reforming themselves in a new place. Maka burst to life first, as she often did, and stepped foot onto a hard metallic flooring. She was standing on a panel floating millions of feet above something down below. Soul appeared right on the edge of the panel and Maka had to scurry to grab hold of him as his mind transferred and he looked down, almost puking. She pulled him backwards and he collided with the metal surface, coughing. Soul has always been afraid of heights, ever since she could remember. He was scared to death in the blimp. The floating city was no picnic either, he was almost dying of heights. But now he stared right down at the core of some monstrous city. He gasped and regained his composure. Always Mr. Cool when it comes to that stuff. She got up first, she had hurled her body at his to get him out of the way and he ended up on top of her. She looked around. Computer monitors and large screens beeped and lit up around her, littering the walls with a futuristic feel. She noticed how some car-like vehicles zoomed overhead, high in the reaches of an upper city. This was much like the earth she knew, only different because it was not full of life. It had a strange feeling to it, something different was luring around here. She could feel it bottled up in the core of the planet. It was a fear she knew not. She studied the high roofs, obviously for some kind of giant creature but she could not find an entrance. Just as she looked to the left and found a large aluminum door a noise penetrated the air and sent a vibration through the panel. Soul struggled to his feet and they hid behind a large pillar. Soul covered Maka's mouth as a giant creature began to drag itself across the panel. When it reached the edge it pressed some weird button on it's axe and a metallic platform formed in front of him, leading to another panel. Soul smirked. Mouthing. "If we get one of those axes, we'll be able to get around more steadily." Maka nodded, grabbing Soul's hand and shot out of the darkness as the creature was crossing the bridge and screamed. The monster, apparently a Rhino of some sorts turned and snorted. "You have no business being in these parts of the Lost Realm" he spoke. Maka's eyes went wide and as she looked at the Rhino-man.

She was frozen in her tracks. She did not even have time to react as he charged forward swinging his axe. Luckily Soul snapped her out of it and she had just enough time to barrel-roll out of the way. She dodged his attack and he slid to a halt just before slamming into the constructive wall behind him. Maka grabbed Soul around the bottom, bringing the blade to rest on her shoulder. "If you know what's good for you, you'll hand over the axe and throw yourself off a cliff." The Rhino must not have thought it funny for he shot forward, slamming the axe into the ground in front of her. She had just enough time to spread her legs apart so that the hit slammed into the metallic surface. She kicked off his axe and went sliding backwards. The Rhino tried to remove his axe, but it did not budge. Maka stuck her tongue out and ran forward, with all the speed and power she could muster. Just as she got close, the Rhino pulled the axe up, shifting her line of jog up and sending her slamming into a wall. She screamed and hit the ground, hard. The Rhino chortled in front of her. She pushed her hands against the ground and flipped back up, standing erect like she was before. The Rhino moved quickly, bashing the axe into the ground around her. It was like a game of Whack-a-Mole for her, but she kept up her speed and finally got him to slip up. She aimed at his stomach, and a piece of armor hit the ground, causing a long pounding motion to ring through the air. "Filthy humanoid." He went faster now, cutting her a few times up her arms. This time she kicked him in the stomach and sent him flying backwards. He was sprawled on the ground like a turtle, trying to flip himself over. Maka jumped on top of him and went for the finishing move. She brought the scythe down on him and he screamed. It shocked her to the point where she stopped, mid-slice. "What are you going to do, beg?" He shook his head back and forth, his eyes welling with tears. Maka brought her scythe up again but just as she did a hot wind swept down her back. She turned around to see large teeth opened wide, a long drop of saliva dripping from its mouth. She nearly screamed as the mouth shot forward, pounding into the Rhino-man below. She pushed herself out of the way and turned to where the axe lay. She swung it easily over her shoulder and looked at where the bridge went. A long line of giant Tyrannosaurus Rex were emerging from somewhere on the other end. Only the one had made it across. She grabbed the axe and started pushing buttons on it. Soul was muttering words she did not hear because she was pressing so many buttons.

The large Lizards were almost to the end of the platform when she hit the button and the floor slid out from under them. One of them was making a running start and slammed into the platform almost on top of them. Maka and Soul were running for the door where the Rhino had come in when it slid open again, and a bigger Rhino emerged. They slid up against the wall as he passed by them. He pressed a button on the axe and a whip flew around the T-Rex's head and it screamed in pain. The man pressed a button and crossed the bridge, with the two lizards he had left. He was almost to the other end with them when Maka hit the button again and the floor slid out from under them. The Rhino was falling to his doom, when he pressed another button and a bubble formed around him. Maka gasped as he went flying back up to the platform. She grabbed Soul and shot into the air, colliding with the bubble shield. It popped on contact and sent him falling with the rest of the bodies down below. The force of the hit sent her flying backwards and she landed on the platform with ease. She went for the door and slid through it just before it closed. Soul was breathing heavily. "Are we on some Alien Planet?" Maka sighed and shrugged, she would have to be fast and unnoticed to get around on this planet. She his as she slipped in through room after room. Eventually she was able to make it to a weird room with symbols written all over. She crossed her arms and stared. She was looking around when she noticed the symbols looked like the rooms she had been through and laughed. She took note of where to go next just as the door opened and 3 Rhino-men marched in. She slid herself under the nearby desk, pushing Soul behind her. They were talking in a weird dialect. She did not understand them but she knew it wasn't good. Two of them were covered in blood. When they left the room she slipped into the next room and found a kitchen-setting. She was confused but moved with haste. Once outside the structure she found herself on top of a giant building, overlooking the city. She could feel a cool breeze hitting her. Down below the hovering cars zoomed passed her without acknowledging her existence. She was ready for a fight, she needed to find someone to test her.

Peter felt the light rain of million of little shards fall on and around his shoulders, it seemed that his powerful yell had been strong enough to break the windows, but when he looked at the man it seemed to have no effect. Interesting…. Peter thought to himself as he watched the person in front of him, waiting for his next move. He probed his thoughts, but only came up with information that made no sense to him. A Saiyan?....maybe an alien then… Peter wondered as the man seemed to come to a decision.

The Saiyan, or whoever it was, in front of Peter. Concentrated his power and then suddenly his hair burst back into the light yellow that it had been before, however there was now a slight aura of lightning sparkling around the person. A power booster…. The evil side of Peter wondered what power this person had. He was interrupted however, as the man launched towards him, kicking and punching, it seemed with everything he had.

Peter had never fought close combat before, never before in his life, except for when he used his super strength. Because of this, he relied upon his telekinesis and super speed to block the man’s attacks. After a few minutes, where neither of them had gained anything, Peter flew backwards and rose up into the air. He then spoke, “A bit of fun….then I’ll steal your power….” He laughed as he reached out with his telekinesis towards a wall. However it seemed that something interrupted him,

No….I…will….not….let….you…. The weak voice of the real Peter, cried out in his brain, yet he was still too weak to fight the evil side, and with a shake of his head, Peter tossed this annoying creature back into its cage inside him. He then turned back to the walls, and easily ripped them off with his mind, before sending them crashing down at Vegeta. “Dodge this…..” He laughed.

"The boy is valiant. This should make an interesting match" Vegeta thought, as the human dodged yet another strike, moving with swift speed, almost as fast as a one of his race, the Saiyans. "It seems he does not rely on strength. I will have to use this to my advantage" he thought, as the boy flew into the air.

"A bit of fun....Then I'll steal your powers." said the madman, reaching out to an invisible object, and then, Vegeta could see a small glint in his eyes. The human seemed.........conflicted. Almost as if fighting a force within him, an internal conflict that was being resolved whilst an external conflict was taking place. And all Vegeta could think of was how to use this to his advantage as a slight chuckle passed through his lips.

The boy regained his stature, and once again reached for an invisible object, and grabbed a wall, throwing it towards Vegeta.

"Telekinesis?!"

The wall raced towards Vegeta, and crashed into the side of a building, sending rubble across the street. But Vegeta had dodged the attack, barely, with a last minute Instant Teleportation. He stood on the top of a skyscraper, looking down on the boy. Vegeta knew what had to be done. It may destroy this entire area, but it needed to be done in order to defeat this formidable foe. He placed his hand in front of him, his palm pointing towards the boy. An almost remorseful feeling arose, but then was swept away, when Vegeta remembered what he had told himself in the beginning. This is all or nothing at this point.

A golden ball glowed in Vegeta's hand. "It is time you suffered from" he said to himself, then heightening his voice "Big Bang Attack!" and the ball grew to an immense size, covering the Saiyan's hand in a bright glow, sending waves of energy through his body, he shot the energy into the street, knowing the boy could not survive an attack like this.

Staring into the face of the ghost Neku was scared. He knew he had to fight but he couldn't find the strength to simply reach into his pocket and pull out a pin; any pin would have down. But he was frozen in fear, locked in time with his face etched in fear. The ghost snarled at him and raised it's hand to attack. Neku closed his eyes and waited for the attack to come. But it never did. Did the Reapers spare him? No, he knew that even if they were here they wouldn't spare him. Nothing seemed to happen for the next few minutes so Neku opened his eyes slowly and looked around him. The darkness had returned. He knew he was still alive for the time being. Neku stared off into the darkness and noticed something strange. He wasn't in real darkness anymore. Streaks of different colored lights zoomed past him.
"What the hell?"
The lights were brilliant in their shades and and intensity. Soon the lights become more and more and after a while it was more like going through a lighted tunnel. Neku turned around so he was able to look forward to where they were going. Ahead of him he saw a planet coming into view. It was simple, very much like Earth would look like. But this one seemed different. Neku was coming in fast and he knew he had to brace for impact. He tried to cover his face but something came over him and he felt the urge to close his eyes. He did so and soon he was asleep.
-----------------
Neku awoke against a large wall. He opened his eyes slowly at first. It was around twilight in this strange new place. The new place he was in though was a towering metropolis. It was as though a city of steel had risen from the ground like weeds. All around him large towers stood over him like giants gleaming at the sky. As he looked on a familiar pain rolled through him. He gripped his head in response while grunting in pain. The Voice spoke in his head.
"Fight anyone you please. Make new team, stay with your old ones, or go on alone. It is your choice. Beware of the guardians though."
The pain subsided and soon became just a distant memory. Neku sighed with disapproval. He thought to himself as he tried to get up from the ground.
"Make a new team... Go alone... Or stay with my old one."
Neku didn't know what to do. It was like him to go off by himself but he had grown attached to his teammate and he knew that they needed each-other. Now that he noticed the wolf was no where near him. Neku tried focusing but he could not sense anyone. Their bond was broken due to the new rules. He would have to search for them. Then the warning stumbled into his mind. The warning of the guardians. Suddenly as to answer his thoughts a loud cry echoed through the metal city. The ground beneath him shuddered slightly in response to the war sign. It, whatever it might be, knew he was there along with anyone else. Neku reached into his pockets and pulled out his pins. He knew here he would have to be more careful so he placed them on his shirt for easy access. He placed his hand on the wall for support, still reeling from the landing. He slowly began to walk deeper and deeper into the metallic labyrinth.

Peter watched as the wall smashed into the ground, he lifted it back up, looking for his opponent that should have been crushed to a pulp, however there was nobody there. He quickly looked around for his pray and spotted him on a high building to his left. Teleportation as well….this will be interesting.. Peter grinned to himself as he noticed that when he tried to probe the man’s mind, he got nothing. It seems he is extremely focused…..what will he do next… Peter got ready to attack the Saiyan, however he was distracted from within, it seemed that his good side had been gaining strength.

STOP!... The mental yell was enough to stop Peter’s body from moving, as the two opposing forces battled within him. Shut up……I will take his power and become more powerful…….. The evil side muttered. No…what are you?...where…is…this…power…coming…from… The real Peter slowly got weaker. The other side then shouted out of Peter’s mouth. “I am Sylar’s Power! Unbeatable!, Unstopable!” Yet he was too late; the conflict within him had taken too long. For now he saw that Vegeta had powered up a massive ball of glowing, golden power.

Peter had no time as the ball spun its way towards him, he did not know if he would survive the blast with his healing and he didn’t want to find out. He quickly raced away, flying as fast as he could through the air, after a few seconds he felt the energy explode on the ground and expand after him like an atomic bomb. Peter sped faster through the air, until he thought his lungs would explode. “Almost….” He muttered to himself as he felt the heat on his back, he would have made it, except it was at that moment that his other side attacked, and kept him still in his place.

“Damn it…..” He swore as he broke free, yet he was too late, as the energy smashed into his back, sending him smashing into the ground. It was not strong enough to kill him, yet it was strong enough to burn him and break a few bones. “Ouch…” Peter muttered as he started healing while lying on the ground; the blast had been enough to shake him up, yet not enough to let the good side break through. After a few minutes, Peter pulled himself up off the ground and cracked his newly healed back. Now where is he… He muttered.

Another shooting star fell from the sky and landed somewhere on this planet, the tremor of impact when mass struck mass unfelt from the hero's current location. This world was definitely different from his, an odd out of any crowd. But for now, deep within his Force meditation, Luke Skywalker cannot feel a thing. Any drunk driver could knock the life out of him but somehow, a strange calm was pulled over him as if safety was assured.

Forty five minutes later he finally pulled out of his healing trance although his looks and composure were ragged as ever. Standing up gingerly he cracked a few joints and took a peek to the bottom from the sides. "A hundred feet, more or less," He pushed his right foot against the side walls and leaped across, plummeting downwards like a comet.

Given his current age, it was only appropriate but without a parachute or jet pack or something? "Now this, is what I've always wanted!" Luke screamed in delight as he continue to shoot downwards. Therefore it was euphoria claimed a mind of its own. And so he flew and flew until finally, he spotted a cable line near to his left but out of normal reach. It was then it finally clicked to him that he was really, really close to ground now.

His palm extended outward and made a grabbing move as the Force dragged the far away lifeline directly to his grasp. Holding it tight, he decelerated quickly and instead of a straight fall, swung towards the electric tower too fast like Spiderman on heroine. The metal frame is close! But again Luke Skywalker demonstrated an impressive display of skill as he made a powerful Force spin from his position, twistingwith such energy that he actually spun right angle away from course in a spiral fashion.

A slip of finger and tough thighs later suffered the small landing comfortably. "Man I wish someone is around. All this talking to myself is getting to me..." Luke Skywalker began to walk towards a nearby store, thinking worriedly of his crazy actions, wondering whether it was a sign that he is snapping under pressure, and only when he had stepped into the bright lit space did he realize it was a weapon's store. As expected of this eeriely quiet city, it was empty of occupants. He began to survey.

All kinds of guns are in here! "Blasters, rifles, stun gun, snipe... Oh." Out of all he saw only one familiar weapon, something that shocked him to the core. He had not expected to see this here.

A shoto.

Without thinking, he smashed his fist against the display windows, shattering glass but none of the sharp pieces managed to scratch his skin. he pulled the dual lightsabers out and examined it. One long and one short, it was the perfect counter to the dual nature of a lightwhip. It was a weapon he had used not long ago, the battle with Lumiya... Why is this here? What have I got myself into? Argh, I don't even have my comlink! Else I could at least try making contact with any nearby fleet...

"If there was any in the first place..." He whispered outloud, holding the tides of emotions swirling in his heart. Now is not the time to cry, no. He sheathed the shoto inside his robes and grabbed a nearby blaster, and sheathed it too. These weapons would prove useful later, for future survival.

The trail continued to lead on, so the hunt once more resumed, new prey acquired. New blood to taste, and a soft neck to slash. His limbs sprinted hard, his muscles tensing and relaxing as one after another pounded against the ground. Rex was sure that he was morphing into some animal that ran, for they continued to become faster, his agility increasing as each moment passed. Adrenaline could not even compare to how fast he had grown.

The Ancients laughed at his innocence, the concept he couldn't comprehend. He was changing into a true hunter, a wild uncontrollable beast that would be the ultimate animal, as all Darklings should be. The ability, to conform to anything he wanted was his, and he should use it wisely. Images flashed through his head as the Ancients provided just what they could turn into. Lion like creatures roaming the empty savanna, leathered skin with no fur, red eyes glaring through the darkness at the prey just ahead, grazing. A black eagle with blood stained claws attacking that which had no hope of combatting their swift movements.

It was incredible, a true show of dominance. Those darklings feelings flooded his head, thoughts of the hunt turning every sense towards that which he hunted now.

Beyond a half darkling, the whispers of his only slightly concious mind told him. He was no longer half human, for he had turned into something much more than that.

He was, with his kind, the only true species that could rule.

The city was a dark and treaturous place. Every corner there was always some sort of lutacris crim that was going down, some perverted and some just plain wrong. Even through all of it people were scared of him. He was able to sense their fear of outsiders. Not only that he was able to sense their hatred as well. It was verry unlpeasant but he had to continue on if he was going to find Luke.

As he rounded another corner he was halted by two creatures of the same appearance. What seemed to be dinosaurs had already been joined by a third as they made a circle around him. Yoda tried to reason with the leader of the pack but wasn't to successfull since they were hungry. "Fight you I must then" he said as he weilded his green blade. the smaller one of the three charged first but took one fatal step which cost it it's right leg. He tried to see if he could rason with the monser again but it was more furiated. Yoda did not want to cause harm but had to in order to survive.

The next one came for Yoda but easily missed due to the lightning reflexes. He then lifted the creature with his force and threw it over a ledge. Now it was him and the leader. It smartly charged after Yoda but missed still. He threw his sabre in a bomerang effect which missed the creature barely. The heat from the blade still made contact and left a scare across the head of it. The pain caused it to lay down slowly. Yoda started to talk with it again and this time it listened and responded kindly.

It proposed a truce and decided to help Yoda in his search for Luke. The agreement was that the beast would give protection and Yoda would give it food. Yoda jumped on the back as another one came out of no where but did not attack. It simply lined up next to them and gave out a large roaring sound. He was now under protection and had more eyes and ears with the force to locate Luke and anyone he pleased. Their journey had started in this new world and hopefully would end with him on top of the others along side Luke.

The western town disappearing before her eyes, Clare began to fall, fall into an endless oblivion, passing numerous asteroids, and a bright, yellow moon...

Whisked away to a futuristic metropolis, the young warrior began to wander the vast city, with many twisting and turning streets and alleyways, leading a newcomer like herself to become lost awfully quickly. Tall skyscrapers towered above her head, small apartment buildings next to them like an ant. Many signs were scattered across the walls, advertising many businesses' products, bulletin boards listing activities that would be wastefully spent on...

Yet nobody walked the barren streets.

Turning towards another dead end, Clare backtracked, hopelessly lost. Why are all of these places I've been to recently been devoid of people? There has to be at least one person in this universe that knows how to get back to my world... Clare's thoughts, however, were interrupted by a loud roar that came from a block away. Taking out her Claymore, Clare went to investigate. What met her eyes was a huge, ferocious-looking lizard creature, using its nostrils to shove its head through a bakery window. Coming out with various pastries on its nose, to fall into its mouth seconds later, it spotted Clare, and began to walk toward her. Being able to get a better look at the monster, she realized that its mouth, and the skin around it, had red blood streaked across it. "So it eats meat," she whispered, preparing herself for battle.

The lizard started to jog, until it came within several yards of Clare. "I have promises to keep, so I will not lose!" She jumped up, releasing Yoma power, and the brawl began. Striking the beast relentlessly, it retaliated, swinging its head around, trying to get her off. Aligning her Yoki power with the lizard's, Clare was able to detect where and when it would attack, avoiding its attacks, and getting in a few hits of her own. Coming up with an idea to finish the battle, the warrior moved over to the side of a building, provoking the lizard to run after her. It did as she expected: it started running toward her, and when it was a few feet away, she leaped up, causing the monster to hit the building, falling onto the street, unconscious. That was too easy, she thought, walking into the maze once more.

He slowly began to walk deeper and deeper into the metallic labyrinth.

Amaterasu trotted briskly along the suspended walkway. It was attached to a tall wall of the sprawling city, and she thought it must be miles above the surface of this land. As she walked, the smell of Neku became stronger, as did the raw, unusual odour of the guardians of the place. For now her only sighting had been of a large being on a jagged, dark spire in the distance. Even with her superior eyesight, all she could tell that it seemed to be some sort of giant lizard, of a kind she had never encountered before.

Ammy hoped that that was the closest glimpse she would get, but she knew her luck was running out. The unfamiliar, tumultuous sky seemed to grow more stormy with every second, until she could hear the distant shrieks of thunder off in the distance.

Absorbed in her observations, the Goddess had not noticed that the path was taking her inside the metallic metropolis, down between the strangely beautiful buildings. She knew that she was ever closer to finding her companion. Abruptly, she stopped in her tracks, and cocked her head to one side.

Something was coming. And it was big, judging by the rumble of it’s footsteps. Whether it was an enemy or one of the patrolling beasts, Amaterasu decided that it wasn’t wise to wait for it, so she dodged behind a swirling statue, and waited. Her wait was not long, as soon a huge Reptile strode around the corner of one of the sky-scrapers.

It had deadly- looking teeth, tough-looking scales and thick ropes of muscle bulging out of it’s body. It’s beady little eyes scanned the area, while it’s nostrils flared. It skulked closer to Ammy’s hiding spot, and she hastily tried to formulate a plan; she could not fight it directly, it was far too dangerous, and it’s hide looked too thick for her weapons. That left the Celestial Brush.

Calm and collected, Ammy revealed herself to the beast. At the sight of an intruder, it let out a fierce-some roar, and readied itself to charge at her. With the Celestial brush, Amaterasu drew a thin line of ink from a nearby bolt of lightning in the stormy sky to the angered beast. The effect was immediate; electricity raced towards the beast, and in seconds, in was a crisp, smoking corpse on the floor.

Offended by the smell of it’s sizzling flesh, she moved on quickly, in the direction the beast had appeared from. Though her attack was effective, it had used a considerable amount of ink, and she hoped that she never faced more than one of these things.

Luffy couldn't understand it, he was still in the tournament, even though he had failed the last round he was still in the tournament. Luffy had been transported to a strange planet, it seemed more futuristic than the other planets. Thr technology seemed far more advanced. "it's like I'm back at the grand line." Luffy thought as he looked around. For the most part it seemed like he was in the slums or at least the lower part of the city, he could see movement in the shadows but the quiet rumblings in the distance and the minut aftershocks in the ground made Luffy realize that something was near and it was big.
"Well I better get going!" Luffy said as he began heading towards a tall tower, while running the usual voice came into his head. "Fight them all, either by yourself or with your team, or completely create a new team, the voice is yours!" Luffy scratched his head as he pondered on what to do, Luffy walked forward and thought on what to do.
"Yosh, let's see what happens!" Luffy quite satisfied with his idea had more of a smile on his face like always. He began running towards the sound of the quite rumblings.

He had decided for the most part to continue this alone. For the only way for him to get his nakama back was by his own strength.
Luffy's determination was the only thing that would power him through the rest of this tournament. Luffy's mind wandered to the thought of why wasn't there any people no matter where he went. Other than the other participants of this tournament, no matter what planet or city Luffy ended up in, there never seemed to be any inhabitants in the place.

"I wonder what that sound was?" Luffy thought to himself as he turned the corner coming out of an alleyway that led to an uphill climb. Which was strange to see in a slum. Luffy continued up the hill, in the distance a loud roar could be heard.
"Whoooo, sounded big!" Luffy said excitedely as he began walking faster and faster to see what it was.

Delirium walked past decaying buildings and torn down street signs while backtracking the steps she took since she last saw her guardian, Barnaby, talking vividly to herself. She had never found him before, she usually just stumbled upon him, but she was as hopeful now as she ever was. Preoccupying herself, though, left her completely oblivious to her surroundings, and she didn’t even hear the sound of something large stomping behind her. She didn’t hear the wheezing of a similar creature approaching her from the left, and she didn’t spot the red eyes glowing with anger and lust from an alley to her right. She did however spot the fourth one, as it stood immobilized by her shockingly calm mind, barely five feet in front of her. As she looked up at the lizard in front of her the others made their presence clear. The one from the alley roared as it leapt closer, the one behind her thrust its feet into the ground several times and the lizard on her left moved its head as close to Delirium as possible while sniffing greedily, absorbing her peculiar smell of sweat, late nights, sour wine and old leather. The lizards were frighteningly large. They were easily three times bigger than a grown horse, and their teeth looked as if they could sever steel wires. Their eyes bulged outwards and their entire bodies thrived with muscles and thick hide. The one in the front growled at the left one, ordering it to withdraw its head from Delirium, their prey. It stretched its body as far as it could, appearing even higher than before, then it let out a mighty roar which made even the nearby walls tremble, as dust fell off the houses. After this feat of strength it looked down at Delirium, and then attacked. As fast as it could it jabbed its head, jaw wide open, towards Deliriums tiny throat.

Delirium watched with indifference as the beast displayed its power, and when it attacked she simply raised her arm. The snout of the lizard crashed into Deliriums open palm without even moving Deliriums little hand the slightest. She looked bored, as if halting creatures ten times her size without effort was nothing to be impressed about. The creature stared in shock as the little girl opened her mouth.
"...aNd tHaT’s wHerE I lAsT sAw BarNabY… mR. MoNsTer; iT’s nOt NiCe tO iNtErrUpT PeoPlE wHiLe tHey’Re haViNg a ConVerSatiOn.”
She wanted to punish the creature for its insolence, and she knew just how she would do it. She lifted her left hand; her right being occupied on the lizard’s snout, then slapped the creature directly across the chin. It roared, and when it turned to attack it was faced with its biggest surprise so far. Where his companions of the hunt had stood earlier, there were now three creatures that looked exactly like Delirium, while the little girl he had attacked was gone. Thirsting for blood it attacked them all, meaning to rip every last one of them to shreds.

The three other lizards didn’t even know what had happened. After slapping the lead lizard the little girl had just waved at them and walked away. Moments later their leader attacked them, frenzied and thirsting for blood. The attack caught them by surprise and one of them fell to their leader’s sharp teeth before they could even react, but the sight of one of their own being torn apart by one they trusted made them see past the old companionship. The three lizards clashed together in a fight to the death, two of them eager to avenge their fallen brother, and one of them tricked by simple illusions.

Delirium kept on walking deeper into the city. The fight she had orchestrated moments before was already ancient history.
Now she was eager for new adventures.

Luke Skywalker walked out of the store with a full stock of weapons, content and satisfied that the chances of his survival in this bizarre game has just went a few times higher than usual, and was prepared to meet face to face with a gigantic lizard about ten feet long hanging above the entrance and waiting to chew him up and spit those bloody bones out and lick them.

"Wait a sec -" Luke found himself tumbling backward subconsciously as the monstrous mouth clamped on the space he was not a second ago, ears ringing and spots dancing before his eyes. The choking, smelly breath he inhaled reeked of corpse and meat, and with his five sense suddenly going haywire he realized it could be nerve damaging.

He hit the floor amid a torrent of scattered guns and flying shards of glass. His hands fumbled for his weapon and pulled out his normal jet blue lightsaber, and an instant later all the light flickered out, leaving the stunned warrior bathed in shadows. He could still see the vague outline stalking just a hair's breadth away from the entrance, and then it was gone. Huh? It went away already? Luke blinked his eyes in disbelief.

Calm began to settle in as he continue to hold himself in battle trance, azure light gently lit the area a little, the Force constantly poking out and every corner of the area. A prickle from his back told him that safety was a far dream yet, "So... It slipped in like a typical lizard..." But the Force has exposed you. The game of patience never lasted long when survival for the fittest is in question, and so one, two, three...

... ten minutes later, the twisted monster screeched victory like a banshee and propelled towards him, claws raised and jaws opened. The ceiling behind me? It's smarter than I thought, going for a speedy kill... Just as the blood stained talons closed the distance Luke dropped to the ground on his back and stabbed upwards. Black blood as thick as honey gushed out of the wound as it suddenly plopped beside him without a sound... Dead.

Luke sprang to his feet and saw that despite such a close ranged attack, the monster did not split apart as he expected too. The corpse's scaly hide and thick shield plates in front of its chest took the blunt force of it, so he cannot tell whether it's dead.

He turned away and walked out of the store, picking up a few power cells along with him. He'll need large amount of energy supplies if he intend for his weapons to last till the end. The foe was clearly a threat, perhaps a living threat, but he will not kill an unconscious foe.

He expanded his Force awareness and the street lights came into view, trying to communicate with any life forms and his allies if they are near. He stared at a few cars that breezed by and decided that he really, really wanted to drive it. "I supposed I could steal one of them but... Are they GA standards?"

He sighed deeply and walked on.

This new world was so strange. The twisted metal that was the city seemed to breath and give off it's own life. It was strange. While Neku walked through the city the cries of ancient beast echoed through the metal causing everything around him to quake. The air around him began to sizzle as the ions around him became charged. He knew what would happen next. As the hair on the back of his neck a strike of lightning ripped through the sky. As the strike traveled down to the ground Neku watched it as if it were a god coming to this earth to judge it. As he studied it's brilliance something strange happened. He noticed that it's straight path had been broken and it soon snapped to the right and traveled in that direction. The lightning struck the ground and loud scream echoed through the metal maze. Neku stared at the sky even after the event occurred. Other cries began to travel all around him. Neku knew that he was no longer safe in this place so he quickly ran in the direction of the strike. He knew that whoever was there would either be a friend or foe. Frankly, he didn't care who it was. He just knew that anywhere was safer than where he was. He hurried his pace as the cries became louder and louder all around him

GASP!

"How could he have survived it? I do not understand. That should have........destroyed him! But how!" yet, Vegeta still refused to believe someone could be superior to him. The abnormal person had not only survived, he looked.......refreshed. The attack had not even phased him, and Vegeta was on his wits end.

"This would be a situation where Kakarot would come and save the day. But that is not the case in this hand. This is my battle. And I will win at any cost!" the thoughts raged in his head, and he flew into the air, and sped towards the boy, his fist outreached, ready to blow a new hole in this boys' reality. But then an idea struck him, as he was in midair, he stopped, and charged his hand yet again, shooting a Galick Gun blast right into the humans' face, as if to rip him a new one.

"A blast of this multitude on a Saiyan.........would make him cry to the Nameks. But that does not seem the case with this one. He seems to have......an unlimited energy supply."

"Enough of this!" he yelled to the boy, knowing all too well he probably could not hear him, the blast had probably blown his eardrums to near oblivion. "You.........insolent fool! You think that you can defeat me! I do not care how immortal you think you are. But I am about to show you the power of the Prince of Saiyans!" He shot lightning once again, powering up even more, his Ki level on a scouter would have reached well over 9000. He could feel reality crushing in on itself. He had not intended this to be the answer, and he hoped he would survive.

Because the boy wouldn't.

Luffy walked to the top of the hill to see an entire alleyway destroyed, it seemed either a battle that occurred here had caused all the damage or there was something alone by itself that had caused all this damage by itself.
Nothing that Luffy had seen so far in this tournament would be able to cause this much damage without causing a much larger amount of noise.

The Sea Kings that Luffy had encountered while traveling on the Grand Line had been able to cause this kind of damage but there were bno signs of any body's of water nearby.
Luffy slowly walked down the hill and into the alley to see if he could tell what the hell had caused this.
As he studied the walls a familiar claw marking had clued him to the idea of a dinosaur causing the damage. Dinosaurs Luffy had seen on Little Garden had been able to do this damage and leave these markings easily.

Suddenly a breeze of smelly rotten flesh seeped it's way down the alley and into Luffy's nostril's. "Aww ewww, what the hell is that?" Luffy thought to himself as he looked around.
A low growling made Luffy look forward into the alley. He could barely make out two red eyes. The eye's seemed very level with his so he thought that it was a human he was facing.
As the thing stepped forward from the shadow it was a Giant Lizard!

Peter finally spotted the man standing on the same roof-top that he had been a few seconds ago when he had launched the fatal blast. I wonder what he is thinking……. Peter thought to himself cocking his head to the side, like an institutive cockatoo. “Lets find out……” He muttered, using his telepathy to look inside the man’s head. It seemed the Saiyan was not focused now, and was wondering how Peter could have survived such a blast. What he don’t know….can’t hurt him…….or can it? Peter laughed insanely at his little joke for a moment, but then was cut off. As the alien of a sort sped towards him, seeming angry now, however he seemed to think of something and paused in mid-air.

Wait a second…. Peter wondered as he watched the Saiyan send a blast of extreme power ripping towards Peter’s face, and for once in this battle Peter was worried. For like Sylar he could die, if he was beheaded or if his opponent found that one little spot. So Peter leant back easily as if to evade the blast, yet it was at that moment that his other side decided to launch another assault to try and take his body back, and it was this attack that let the blast explode into his face. “OH!...” Peter was cut off as the explosion ripped into his face, ripping off pieces of skin here and there, and damaging his ears and eyes, only stopping before it hit the brain. Relieved that it had not damaged that one spot; Peter watched the man watch him while his face re-grew skin and repaired the damage done.

You are the most annoying…little… Peter muttered angrily at his other side, when the man began to speak; puffing himself up with words that mattered little to Peter as he spoke about things that did not concern him. However what did concern him was what the man was doing. More lightning crackled around the Saiyan and he started to glow. Peter was reminded of when he had been about to explode at Kirby Plaza a year or two ago, this man was going to do the same thing, and this time Peter knew he had to run, but not before one last attack. I would be wining if it wasn’t for you….. He growled as he charged his hands together. That….was….my….plan….you…know… The other side spat back. Shrugging, Peter let lose a giant blast of electricity at the man’s head, once that had left his hands he sent a ball of fire after it. He then got ready for what ever this man was about to do, for he had a plan to evade it…..hopefully.

Black WarGraymon was running around in the town. In a blink of an eye was covered by a white light. "What's this now?" He thought as he could not stop from running. "Huh? Why can't I stop running it's as if my legs have a mind of its own." He thought as the blinked once more and appeared to be in a city. "What's this place." He thought as he looked around. It reminded him of the digital world. "This as so advance..." He thought as he was still running. He soon got control of his legs again and stopped. "A time shift might have occurred controlling me or something like that ah who cares." He thought as he just gave out a loud roar in the middle of the city.

Black WarGraymon was walking around. The floors where different they went as if there were zigzagging around. He stayed on the path that he appeared on. "Huh? What's this?" He said as he saw an arrow pointing to a big wall. It read. "Welcome this is your next task..." "What? I've been doing task?" He thought as he continued to read. "In this round you will be on your own." "This is much better than before then." He interfered once more. "Your goal is to fight to the death, you may pick you own fights." He stopped reading the sign. "Yes this means that I will be able to cause some serious damage to any one I dislike!" He thought as he gave out another loud roar and stormed off deeper in to the city.

Black Wargraymon was deeper in the city and reached an machine that seem to take things up the sky. "So advance but yet they need some thing to take them to where ever they want to go. What pity I have for them." He said as he stood back and took aim at the machine. He raised his claws up to the air. "Now let's see how this thing could hold up." He said as he ran to it, spinning around. He was drilling the machine, sparkles came flying outward. Faster and faster he went drilling in to the machine. In a few minutes the machine spited in two. One half fell to the right as the other fell to the left. "I guess that it was not Black WarGraymon proof." He said as he walked away from the machine that was not good for anything any more thanks to him.

As Black WarGraymon past by many thing he notice that the energy waves where not the same as the ghost towns. "I feel that some have left, and I feel some other sort of fighter that I did not get the trace of energy from it." He thought as he notice that some one looked at him in a wrong way. It was a man in a shop. "What do you want?!" Black WarGraymon yelled at him. Black WarGraymon did not wait for a reply and just launched a attack it was the Dramon Killer. A move where Black WarGraymon give a few claw attacks and fallowing it is a flame of tow colors, red and blue. "Dramon Killer!" He shouted as he launched the attack. The little store was on fire, gas tanks exploded in there making the man in it impossible to live after wards. Black WarGraymon just laughs as he saw the man burring. "Now that's the meaning of true power!" He said as he walked away from the store that he lit on fire. It seemed that when Black WarGraymon entered this place chaos fallowed along with him.

Frustration. Anger. Hate. These were all the feelings that floated through Vegeta's body, as the boy let loose another attack, a combination of lightning and fire. There was only one way to block it. As much as he hated to do it, he spit the blood from his mouth, and stopped charging long enough to teleport once again, this time in front of the boy.

He grabbed him by the scruff of his neck, and shot into the air like a bullet, twirling as he sped, faster, and faster, looking almost like a torpedo in the sky. He began to feel slight nausea, but shook off this feeling, as he rose into the air. Unlike Earth, it seemed the higher he went in this forsaken world, there was no change in oxygen.

"Why am I even worried about oxygen? I'm about to destroy this kid. Once and for all. There's no way he'll survive it. If he does.......... " but the Saiyan Prince could not spare another thought, as he rose higher, he could see stars, and the endless darkness of space near. "I hope you have a fear of heights. Because you're going to fall from them!" he nonchalantly explained to the boy, twisting once more before releasing him upon the ground, watching him fall down and down.

Even before he reached the ground, Vegeta placed his hands in the same formation as before, first to his side, gathering his Ki energy for one last shot. His wrists touching each other, as if to sync energy with one another. The lightning began to crackle from the sky, the rain pouring as hard as ever, but this would not deter him.

Even if the human could not hear him, due to their huge distance from another, Vegeta shouted to him "You will not defeat me!" another glowing ball forming in Vegetas' hands, this attack being the last in his repertoire, he hoped it would completely destroy the boy.

Thunder boomed in the sky, close to Vegeta, in such a distance, his skin began to ripple, from both the nature, and the ki energy he was exerting in this desperation move.

"Final Flash!"

The force with which he pushed this towards the ground shot Vegeta backwards into outer space, and for a few seconds, the oxygen deprived from Vegeta's body was so great, he could feel his heart stopping. But, within him, his Saiyan pride pushed him back towards the planet, never to let him die.

"This.......is it.......if he is not dead........then I have lost this battle." he thought to himself, powering from his Super Saiyan 2 into his regular form.

Usually the traffic was a monotonous flow of daily repetition, a city cursed to live on without reason. But today, there was one race car with lines of orange and awesome graffiti of lightning piercing into the heart of this civilization.

Not surprisingly, every vehicle has their own radio devices although few actually knew the significance of this technology. With a little bit of technical knowledge one could turn this announcer box into a communication device - The only flaw is that one can only listen but not speak. This is a one way receiver device after all.

And so while driving at top speed 330 kilometres per hour with one hand, he concentrated almost his entire focus on the other that took apart the radio and is now rebuilding it to something almost a radar. When he is finished this will pick up all audio signals nearby and while they will be garbled up like rubbish, the Force will help him listen to what was needed.

"Just a little more... done." Luke celebrated his success by wedging through seven vehicles at once without slowing down. He listened intently to the massive blur of sounds.

"... Filthy huma... What are... do, beg?..." He caught on to this particular voice like a serpent, and realized that these were the ones that so cockily caught his fort from the last territory. So, they are alive, he mused, I supposed I should go and greet them a little.

There was no chance of checking coordinates, so he has to rely completely on the Force for guidance. Surely enough, a few minutes later he was quickly closing in on the enemy.

Peter was not surprised in the slightest when Vegeta dodged his attack, however he was surprised when the Saiyan teleported in front of him, and grabbed him by the front of his shirt. For the first time in his life, Peter was scared of what someone else was going to do, he had miscalculated and it seemed that he was going to pay for it. He had thought that the man would explode but that was not his wish. As he flew into the air, still holding Peter close as they spun around and around. Peter could have broken the hold easily, if it was not for the battle that was going on inside him at that moment. As soon as Peter had felt surprise, and let go of himself for that crucial moment, his good side had attacked. Although it wasn’t an attack as such, but more of a cage to hold Peter trapped while the Saiyan destroyed his body.

Let me go……or we will both die…. The evil side growled at the other, as their body flew up into the atmosphere seeming to merge with space now. Never….it is better to die good…..then to live….evil… The battle raged on, within the young man, neither side giving nor taking an inch. However this epic battle was soon interrupted as Vegeta spoke, and dropped Peter spiraling to the ground. He couldn’t do anything as they fell and fell, falling at a terrific speed, and then they both heard the words of the great Saiyan coming from above them. “FINAL FLASH!” And with that yell, a massive beam of energy came smashing towards the falling form of Peter. Well I don’t want to die…..you win….this time…. and with those last words, the evil side retreated deep within Peter, and suddenly he was back in control of his body.

“Damn it….” Were his first words, as he realized he might have won his freedom only to die here. He quickly looked down at the ground and then back up at the blast quickly gained on him. Is it possible……well I might as well try… and with that final thought, Peter righted himself in the air and suddenly flew towards the ground with everything he had, as the blast was hot on his heels. The ground got closer and closer, yet Peter did not stop at all, but rather got faster. 50….40…30…20…10…5…3…2.. He counted out the metres in his head; when a meter from the ground he suddenly turned transparent and faded into the ground, yet he kept on going, further and further, knowing that the blast could still catch him.

Above the earth five seconds latter, a massive explosion racked the ground where Peter had once been, leveling everything in a hundred meter radius around it, once the dust had cleared there was not a sign of the young man at all. However two hundred meters away, Peter came rushing out of the ground, seeming to materialize out of nowhere, when he actually came out of the ground. “That was too close…..” he muttered, before collapsing on to his back, for some well deserved rest.

Leaving the smoking corpse behind her Amaterasu continued to along along the curving, confusing pathways of the city. As the smell of the incinerated lizard faded, Neku's scent became stronger. She turned another corner, around another strange building, and was happy to come face to face with her companion.

For the first time since she had woken up in this grim place, Amaterasu felt her tail wag and her eyes light up. She licked his hand affectionately, and while it appeared to safe for now, she decided to write a message for him.
With the celestial brush, she formed her message in elegant letters, much faster and smoother than her first attempt.

"I'm glad that you are safe. This place is more dangerous than the others we have found ourselves in. I think it will better if we continue to work together. By the way, my name is Amaterasu."

The writing was slightly faint against the dark metal of the ground, but it seemed legible enough. Ammy fidgeted nervously. There were more mingled aromas in the air too; some the same as the lizard she had thought, one of another kind of creature, the ones that had spirited to the island, like herself, and the underlying metallic whiff of engrained blood.

Yet, her ink was now replenished, the storm above them continued to rage, providing plentiful electricity if required, and she had found a friend. Maybe this part of the challenge was not going to end so badly after all.

Exhaustion had set into both of the combatants. Vegeta, having spent almost of his energy, trying to kill. And he could see that the outcome of his last desperation attack had not come to frutition. Although he had fatigued the boy, now laying on the ground on his back, Vegeta knew. He could sense it. The boy was not dead.

Floating in the air, pure chills were sent down the Saiyan's back, ice cold sweat mixed with the rain, ran all over his body. Vegeta's Saiyan pride was not letting him forfeit this battle.

"Why not let him be, Vegeta? He has done nothing wrong! Spare his life, so that you may be ready for the next round."
"But what if there is no next round? What if this is it? What if this is the last round, what if I don't get to see this next round? No. Conservation is not the answer. It is all or nothing."

It was another internal conflict in Vegeta, one side did not want to kill the human out of sheer compassion and admiration of his persistence to stay alive. Yet, the other side. The Saiyan in him, his race, his pride, his entire people, had lived on this principle since their beginning.

Take no prisoners.

Vegeta grunted, and wiped sweat from his forehead, feeling the sweat in his gloves, his hair standing on edge on the back of his neck.

"Hey, kid? Get up."

It seemed Vegeta would have to handle things simply the way they should be settled. With fists.

Electricity has an abusive relationship with water. No one truly knows when their arguments started, but everyone agrees that it had something to do with twelve slices of orange and three slices of lemon. Very rarely does lightning ever visit the domain of ice, but when it does, old amnesties are reignited and tempers flare. Peter didn’t know it, but he had just sparked, quite literally, the oldest of feuds, leaving a quite innocent man caught in the crossfire – depending on your definition of innocent, of course.

The sudden collapse brought on by muscle failure did not take long from an outsider’s point of view, but from his perspective, it felt as in an eternity had just begun. Light year after light year passed by as his body slowly folded up on its collision course. Asteroids came and went, but left no trace or any indication that they had even existed in the first place. The universe was a rather droll place, and even though he was still affected by thousands of volts running through his body, he subconsciously made a mental note to never invest in real estate on any planet.

The impact was more solid than he had expected, and made the type of metallic harmony that wood typically does not. His eyelids gave up their struggle to remain open and they embraced each other the way happy relative do after an extended absence. Several seconds passed and he did not move. Then, several more seconds passed and he continued to not move. A sharp pain in his oblique brought reality crashing down, though he ignored it entirely. A steamy breath wafted down and embraced his face.

“Smells like –“ he trailed off.

The source of the rancid exhale shifted its weight and produced a monosyllabic grunt.

“– stupid.”

His hand shot out in the direction that the blow had come from and struck a metallic cylinder. The metal of the cylinder was rapidly replaced by pure gold and spread outward. The creature inside the cylinder let out another grunt – the root of the grunt was probably an expression of discomfort or agitation at the sudden defamation, and added value, of whatever it was wearing – but before it could form a single word, or even raise the axe that it was wielding, its entire body had been transposed into gold.

Too bad there’s no market for ugly gold statues, he thought.

The golden statue shifted where it stood. He opened his eyes and discovered that his creation wanted to properly thank its creator, and that the appreciation it had in mind was rather precarious to his health. He rolled away from the teetering giant.

Thoughts swirled around in his head and the memory of Peter confronting him on the platform of the saloon.

“SYLAR!”

A grin spread across his face.

“I.”

“Am.”

“Sylar.”

He pointed at the gold countenance in front of him and it shattered into thousands of tiny pieces.

As Delirium ventures deeper into the city she slowly realizes how quiet the place is. Quiet, and oh so boring. No colors, no living creatures, no sounds... Nothing.
Not very surprisingly, "nothing" just doesn't cut it for Delirium.
She stops and places her hands on her hips, then looks around, an expression of annoyance spreading across her face.

"LeeEeEt'S sEe nOW. tHiS pLacE nEeDs cOlor, aNd iT nEeDs LiFe!"
Closing her eyes she starts to concentrate, and then she bends over to touch a tiny stone lying lifelessly before her. At her touch the stone starts growing. Reaching taller and taller it starts to sprout arms and legs, and as a human form takes form Deliriums face is lit with glee. Before her stands a tall man, his skin white and his eyes red. He is dressed in a single, long cape colored bright pink, and as he bows down before Delirium he speaks. "What does thee wish of me, creator?"

Hearing this Delirium starts to laugh, then she responds.
"Oh aRen'T yOu tHe fOrMaL guY! hMmm, fIrSt yOu NeEd a NamE. I'lL caLl yOu... TrItoRiaN wEeBlesNickErS!"
Pleased with the choice Deliriums starts clapping her hands while jumping up and down.
"nOw, UhM, Mr. TrItorIaN wEebLeSniCkErS, I jUsT wAnT yOu tO spReAd cOloR aNd HapPiNesS! nOw, iF yoU, Eh, PlEasE."
"Certainly, creator, right away."

The pale man looks around at his grim surroundings, then flashes Delirium a tiny smile. Suddenly he bursts like a firework, and out from the explosion thousands of butterflies comes flying out, surrounding Delirium and spreading outwards. Excited she screams and laughs while desperately trying to catch butterflies with her hands, but as her fingers closes around one it simply bursts and two new ones emerges from it. The colorful insects flies farther and farther away from their point of creation, and where they land a tiny dot of everchanging color is left behind. First blue, then green, maybe some red and suddenly some yellow. An explosion of color moving ever outwards, changing the grim scenery drastically.
Such a sight will definitely not go unnoticed, and can be seen from almost anywhere, but Delirium doesn't care at all. She doesn't even concider it.

"oH, tRitOriAn wEEblEsnIcKerS, weLl dOnE!"

"Gomu GOMU NO!!!! ROCKET-Tou!!!!!!!!!"
Luffy yelled as he entire body shot at the Giant Lizard head on and hit it on the left cheek. The Monster screamed in pain as it stumbled backwards. It's eyes blazing red, it's teeth bloody and every inch of it's body looked powerful, so there was no strategy, for Luffy the best way to do things was head-on.

"You think you can eat me eh!" Luffy screamed at the monster as it roared and charged forward at Luffy, it's jaw and mouth opened wide, it's bloody teeth looking thirsty for more.
"Kono Yaro!!!!" Luffy screamed.
"GOMU GOMU NO! GATLING GUN!!!!" Luffy jumped at the Lizard, his fists punching rapidly in succession, but that wasn't the end of it.
"STAMP!
MUCHI!
YARI!!"
The quick succession of powerful attacks smashed into the Lizard. It screamed in pain as each it took every blow to it's body and it's face.

As Luffy dropped to the ground, the Lizard spat out blood and looked at Luffy with more anger than before. It charged suddenly and made a move to bite him, Luffy saw this and jumped into the air to avoid this but the Lizard wanted that as it turned and smacked Luffy with it's tail.

"Ahhh" Luffy was sent flying into a nearby wall. Luffy jumped out of the wall. He looked at the Lizard. "That was a lucky shot!" Luffy shot both of his hands backwards as the Lizard charged forwards again.
Luffy didn't move out of the way.
"GOMU GOMU NOOO!!! BAZOOKA!" Both his hands shot forward and hit the Lizard right in the jaw, breaking it and then Luffy grabbed the top and bottom of the mouth and began twisting his arms.
"GOMU GOMU NOO!!!! SCREWDRIVER!" Luffy's hands and arms made the Lizards mouth spin, breaking it's neck.
He threw it aside, in disgust.
"You can't kill me, I'm the man who will become the Pirate King!" Luffy said as he dusted himself off and began walking to the end of the alley.
But something made him stop, another giant figure blocked his way. Luffy immediately thought it was another Lizard so he threw a punch to throw it out of his way but the figure caught his hand and swung Luffy around throwing him into a mountain of rubble nearby.

Pikachu opened his eyes. What had only a moment ago been the rubble of a collapsed building in a western town, was now an office in a large modern-day city. He walked around the room a bit and noticed it looked mostly casual, except that nothing had been touched in ages, and various things had been destroyed. He also discovered that despite having just finished a battle with a large black knight with intense power, a battle that had left him weak and defeated, he was now perfectly refreshed and healed, with no signs of fatigue. "Well now where could this be?" He pondered to himself. He left the office room and walked down the outside hallway. Suddenly, a great stench overpowered him. "Ugh! What is that?!" He wondered. The answer was not far away however, and across the hall, out of one of the rooms, came a giant lizard-like creature. then, out came another, and another, and another. He turned around frantically, but more still were coming out of the rooms which lined the halls. the mass of creatures at first did nothing but stare at him, but then, one of them let out and ear-splitting shriek. The others soon followed him like a row of shrieking dominos. It was too much for Pikachu, he tried to get away from the screaming but he was unable to navigate even through the straight hallway as the splitting sounds filled his ears. In his pain and confusion, he did what he always did in times of panic, and let out the biggest jolt of thunder he could muster. The lizards immediately ceased their shrieking, frightened by the large jolts of lighting flying everywhere at once. They scurrrried back into their nests in the office rooms and stayed silent in fear. Pikachu was motionless on the ground, his ears still ringing from the screams. He attempted to stand up, however, still disoriented, he fell back into a slump against the wall. He gave himself a minute for his mind to clear, and realizing the creatures could be back at any minute, scanned his surroundings for a way out. It didn't take long, for he saw that in his fit of panic, he had created an immensely large hall in the wall through which he could see outside. He ran over to the wall, having mostly recovered, and loooked out. He was at least twenty stories high, and could see out to a large portion of the city he was in. Everything was dark, it was nighttime. Other than the few flickering city lamposts, there were no lights on in any of the buildings. Using his trained rodent eyes, Pikachu could see the city was just as deserted at the office building. He tried to look for a way down to the ground, but to no avail. Until, he was able to locate a window washers scaffolding a few floors and a couple windows over from him. If he could manage to navigate what he guessed was about three floors down, and find the right window, he should be able to lower himself down the rest of the way using the platform. He turned and faced the hallway he was in. He sent a quick jolt of lighting across the hall to ensure no lizards came out and attacked. Then, he ran as fast as he could to the other side and turned down another side hallway. Down the hall and to the right he found some stairs. He began to make his descent when he saw something at the bottom, it was another lizard, only this lizard looked much bigger, stronger, faster, and more lethal the the ones he had just encountered. Then he figured it out, this whole building was a nest, and the "giant" lizards he had just seen were only the babies of this massive beast. It was sniffing the area, and Pikachu guessed it had heard it's child's cries and was attempting to discover what had disturbed them. Pikachu gulped, he knew the only way down to the correct floor and his escape from the building was past the giant lizard. He also knew there was no way he could sneak past the monster, as it seemed it had already picked up a scent, and it began searching more enthusiastically. He took a deep breath, and, wishing he was back up against the black knight, lunged down the stairs to meet his foe.

This was the real Peter; the evil side had retreated far within his body, and wouldn’t be coming out for a long while. He pulled himself up onto his feet and looked the black haired Saiyan in the eyes. He doesn’t know….who that person was…and what he had put me through… Peter thought about his dark side. “I don’t want to fight….that was my other side…my evil side….” Peter croaked out, as he put his hands by his sides. “You must find somebody else…..unless you insist on this…” Peter muttered as he charged his hands together ready to defend himself. He wouldn’t hurt someone innocent, yet he would defend himself.

The boy began to mumble, something about an evil side, all of which Vegeta knew very much about. But an instinct, a certain something, was telling the Saiyan Prince that there was some falsification in the voice, his ears were telling a different story from his eyes.

He could see it, the air of the human was different, yet, he still remained in a fighting stance. Did he not know of the strength of a Saiyan? What the human had experienced was just Vegeta toying, not willing to fully unleash himself unless the need be neccesary. But he began to understand, the more and more he played this twisted game, the thought kept coming up.

"What if this is the last time I fight? I would rather my combatant beat me until my atoms were scattered across space rather than admit defeat."

Vegetas' Saiyan Pride, his arrogance, had gotten the best of him, as he grunted, and spit another ball of blood from his mouth, it washed away with the rain.

"You...........fool!" he murmered to himself, glaring at the boy, as he charged toward him, giving every last bit of energy, punching, and kicking, all of the while, his brain was pumping, his heart pounding against his chest, cold chills going down his body, yet it did not matter at the least. A lightning bolt crashed to the ground, sending shockwaves that made the hair on Vegetas' body stand on end.

But the conditions did not falter him, as he struck the 2 main areas he was looking for: face, and ribcage. Striking these areas would not only deplete the oxygen supply of the combatant, but also, give Vegeta time to think as the human tried to recover every time he evaded one of his attacks.

He floated away, kicking dust behind him, not even caring that could be the move that could make or break this battle.

He had learned the technique from Goku, seeing him use the Kamehameha, then warping, closing the distance, and making the attack much greater in damage. That is all he had in mind. It was a close shot, because if he missed, all he could rely on was his physical abilities, not having fully exhausted his supply of punches and kicks, he breathed a deep breath, drawing in as much oxygen as he could.

Peter barely had time to protect himself as the man in front of him, decided to attack him. Peter knew this was coming, as he had read the man’s thoughts, yet he had still believed that the Saiyan would just walk away. Why do I always believe the best of people? Peter wondered as he used his super speed to block every kick and punch. However the fight continued, with never party giving an inch. Peter was only defending himself, not attacking his opponent, only defending his body and brain. He did not want to fight nor destroy this strange person in front of him, yet he was forced to if he wanted to survive to see his family again. “Why are you doing this?” He cried out as he managed to block a particular nasty kick to the ribs. His question was not answered as the man floated away and pushed his hands into a weird shape, creating a blue ball that started to slowly expand.

He is charging energy...and the only way I can stop it...is if I do the same... It seemed that it was the only way that Peter would ever get peace, was to vanquish the Saiyan in front of him. As Vegeta charged up one of his most powerful attacks, Peter brought his hands together and began to do the same. This attack will either break me...or make me... Peter thought to himself as he got ready for the final blast.

This world was getting darker and darker as the clouds began to loom overhead. He half expected a lightning strike to come down from the heavens and take him from this world. Would his time be up soon? He hoped it wasn't. Neku griped his chest feeling the emptiness inside of him. The wolf was near he could feel it. He knew that without it he wouldn't be able to live. As he kept walking through the cold metal planet. A sudden noise alerted him. It sounded like quick steps rushing in one direction. Neku stopped and looked around, confused. The sound traveled all around him and he was not able to pinpoint the source of it. A sudden flash in the corner of his eye alerted him to a corner. He turned in that direction to see the Wolf running towards him. The empty feeling left and for a second he thought the world had gotten a bit lighter. Neku bended down a but and scratched it's head to which it replied with a series of eccentric wags of it's tail. Neku smiled slightly as it began to lick his hand happily. It stopped and looked down at the ground. A dark material began to float on the surface and began to change into letters. He read them quietly and slowly to himself.

"I'm glad that you are safe. This place is more dangerous than the others we have found ourselves in. I think it will better if we continue to work together. By the way, my name is Amaterasu."

He watched as the last of the name began to fade into nothing and the shining metal took over once again.

"Am...ma...tera...su... Like the sun goddess..."

Neku thought for a second at his answer. This wolf held strange powers. He remembered hearing once during class, on one of the rare occasions he wasn't asleep, of her and her powers.

"Wait! You are the Sun Goddess!"

Neku was surprised at the fact that even gods weren't safe from this. Whatever this was. As he looked at Amaterasu the thunder and lightning above them began to intensify. Then there was a sudden difference in the atmosphere. There was a stench in the air and the earth began to shake slightly. Both Neku and Amaterasu became alert and looked around and encountered a giant lizard. To Neku it looked like a miniature t-rex but it was still large in size. It's teeth were sharp and gleeming. On top of it a large monster stood. It was covered with gleaming armor. It looked like a giant rhino to Neku. It held it a giant ax in it's hand and held the reigns to the beast. The beast let out a loud cry and charged at them with the rhino letting out a war cry.

"Damn!"

Neku reached for his pins and pushed Amaterasu out of the way. He grabbed his LIVE! pin and focused his energy into it. The same release of psychic energy flooded into him. As the animal charged closer and closer Neku felt his energy reach it's maximum. Neku took a deep breath and began to yell at the top of his lungs. The sound wave pushed Neku back slightly. The main sound wave traveled toward the monster and hit the monster straight on. The creatures screamed in pain and were pushed back several feet. The force of the blow brought giant lizard to it's knees. It wasn't finished though, just hurt badly. Neku placed the pin back on his shirt and reached for his Thunderbolt pin. He focused once more and felt the same energy beginning to build up. The giant lizard began to get up slowly.

"Not yet!"

Neku shaped his hand like a gun and raised it up towards the creatures. He pulled his finger back, like a child does with a toy gun, and let a large lightning bolt fly toward them.

"Bang."

The bolt flew towards the creatures and made contact with the lizards neck. The electricity flowed all through the monster's body and into the rhino's body. They screamed in pain and as soon as they began their voices were cut-off and they both slumped to the floor. Neku placed his pin back on his shirt and looked back at Amaterasu. He spoke quickly and quietly to her.

"Let's move. Quickly."

Neku began to run in the direction the creatures had come from not waiting for Amaterasu to respond to him. Neku passed the smoldering bodies of the creatures. As he passed them he could have sworn the lizard's leg had twitched slightly. He hoped it was involuntary.
