Gentek entry - April 7th 2009

Subject shows decelerated cell growth. It is likely Subject will be pronounced dead any day. Failed experiment #20. Biological warfare presumed highly dangerous, ship weapon to Black Ops immediately for retrieval.

-Doctor Sands

Alex Mercer was a scientist working on a biological weapon that was called of. In route to destroy the experiment Mercer released the chemical into the air and was assumed dead. The virus spread across New York City, transforming its inhabitants into flesh-eating monsters. Mercer's body was taken to a Gentek morgue where he awoke to a team of scientists, presumably about to examine he supposed dead body. Mercer was immune to their bullets and escaped, only to become the prize of the Black Ops. Mercers body held the key to curing the infected humans and he set out to destroy Gentek and their mission. While trying to complete his mission he accidentally released the Mother, who commanded the infected to strike back against the human race. Gentek pursued Mercer endlessly, using whatever means of capture available.

Gentek entry - January 1st 2019

The disease has spread throughout the country, the only safe spots are home to criminals and those immune to the disease. We had a routine mission to the Texas facility and found some troubling news, failed experiment catalogs were found buried beneath some of the wreckage from Mercer's attack. It appears the assumed dead, failed experiments are living among us. They can be disguised as anyone and they appear to be human. We presume they hold the capabilities of Mercer, and if so we must find them and we must examine them, in hopes of finding a cure.

-Doctor Sands

The older models of Mercer's disease were titled "Proto X's" and left forgotten, categorized as failed experiments, performed upon critically ill patients across the United States. They were all announced dead and tossed into a disposal building, a location that remains unknown. Doctor Sands hired a special troop to find these infected humans, in hopes of creating a mutated cure that would help them fight the infected hordes. It was a plan Gentek hoped would work, the only problem was, the Proto X's did not want to be found. Many of them fought back and were killed, but some remain in hiding, wondering who they were. They cover their tracks well and use their abilities to help conceal them. Mercer pursues his mission of taking down Gentek while they search for the Proto X's. The only hopes for the world rest on the shoulders of the Proto X's, but should they be captured Gentek would surely use their abilities as weapons. The humans cannot be trusted.

Gentek entry - June 28th 2019

We have successfully captured a Proto X, with the ability of sight, he can sense any of the experiments within a mile. Using the boy we will be able to find them, and take away their abilities. However, tracking them will be hard. We have invented a device that will allow me to enter his mind and control him. We can inject the cure into those we find, they are too dangerous to be left alone, we must capture them and transfer their abilities into more suitable hosts. We will find them, and we will use technology to administer the cure. All that remains is to locate them.

-Doctor Sands

You may be chose a variety of characters, from Black Ops/Marine Soldiers to Gentek Scientists, to Alex Mercer to Dr. Sands, from a Proto X to an Infected leader. You chose your character.

Position:
Ability/Skills: (If any)
Weapons/Gear:
Other Details:

You can be any of the following characters, or make up a different storyline. Anything you want, you choose.

Black Ops: Soldiers specially trained to take out infected humans. They are ruthless and physically adept. They are exposed to the top technologies in the business and often are assigned dangerous missions.
Marines: The outside operations, these men and women hunt the infected as well but are more soldier-like and less reliant on technology.
Gentek Employee: The most advanced biological experiments happen at Gentek, as an employee you get to invent new technologies and cures to aid the war against the infected.
Infected: If you are infected you possess superhuman qualities, if you choose to be a horde leader you command all the minions you want. Horde Leaders also posses Proto X-type abilities.
Proto X's: On the run from the government these super-humans are superior to humans and infected but most only possess one of Mercer's abilities. These are the failed experiments of Gentek and they are after their own path, a third path apart from Gentek and the Infected.
Civilians: Civilians are normal humans who are immune to the disease and therefore can live in peace without fear of contracting the disease, the only negative part is they are not as physically gifted as other characters.
Anyone else: You pick and chose your storyline, it's an extremely open RPG. Be a corporate owner in the last city, be Alex Mercer the only successful Gentek infection, be a Bounty Hunter or anyone you want to be.

Character Name: Alger “Zen” Hiss
Cover Name: Sean Berg

Age: 24

Background: Zen has no recollection of his life before becoming infected. He remembers waking up laying face down in sewage in some ditch outside Manhattan. As he made his way back to the city, he was intercepted by a lone marine who attacked him with a knife, shouting something about “proving himself”. Zen opened his mouth to protest, but he charged forward on impulse. After parrying the marine’s first swipe, he tore into his neck and tore away a large chunk of flesh. Enflamed with this new hunger, Zen quickly devoured the marine. Shortly after, memories started popping up in his head, but they weren’t his. Memories of the marine he had just eaten flooded his brain. Slowly, his body changed to resemble the marine, and he decided to take over his life and his name. He joined the marine faction that Sean had been a part of and successfully blended in. He has been silently sabotaging the marine’s efforts to hunt the infected, though he has killed several of his own kind to avoid detection. He is a man working to accomplish his own goals, but he does not know what goals he has yet.

Character Name: Riley Masen
Age: 19
Background: Born with a strange eye disease, doctors were never able to figure out what was the issue with his eyesight that seemed to be perfect one day, then terribly poor the next. Riley's parents would spend much money on the best doctors to try and solve the problem, yet none could crack the case. His parents eventually ran out of the necessary money and started working overtime jobs, leaving Riley to mostly grow up on his own from age 5 to ten, when his parents were infected. They didn't want Riley to have to go through what they were going through, so they left him with nothing but a note, and a crystal with a healing power that he wears all the time on a mere string. Later on in his life, he joined the Black Ops at age 17, because they noticed his fighting abilities with his sword. He didn't even need to use guns, but he still uses them well. He is able to adapt to any surrounding, and able to figure out and use any weapon easily.

Position: Black Op
Ability/Skills: Able to use his long black sword quite well, and uses a mixture of different skills he picked up from others with it. He never goes anywhere without it. Also able to use any guns easily, picks up skills with them quickly. Able to react quickly, as well. Long crystal that hangs around his neck always.
Weapons/Gear: Long black katana-like sword, with an 'x' encarved in the handle. (shown in picture)
Other Details: He is now legally blind, (notice the eye color) and he doesn't know what date or hour his eyesight will completely vanish. His crystal's healing power only works once, and he never uses it unless something crucial will happen.

ForgottenMemory

Character Names: Apollo and Artemis Mori
Ages: 25 (Apollo), and 20 (Artemis)
Background: Raised in separate and strict military boarding schools, the siblings knew a life without parental affection - or family for that matter. Robbed of their childhoods, they grew into stern and serious young adults. They’re emotionless capabilities led them to the tops of their classes. Apollo and Artemis were praised as young and fearless leaders of the future. Apollo, five years older than his sister, moved directly onto a combat team. Artemis, however, chose to pursue a path of dedication service and has been a faithful secret assistant to the famous Dr. Sands for years.
When terror struck, and the manic Proto X groups escaped, the siblings were called upon to join together in the Black Ops. The two – who hardly know each other – now work as a team in order to capture and rid of the Protos.
Picture: http://i44.tinypic.com/28u4rh2.jpg
Position: Black Ops Special Agents
Ability/Skills: These siblings have had immense training in the absolute foundations of martial arts and defensive combat. They have extensive knowledge of weaponry handling, and have a firm understanding of how to handle any given fighting situation from their schooling.
Weapons/Gear: The Mori’s are equipped with extremely high-quality communication devices, spyware, and have individual weapons. Apollo carries with him two large katana blades and a hidden, small handgun. Artemis, however, prefers to have her large Black Ops-issued gun, and the single blade she carries on her back.
Other Details: Artemis seemed to be devoted to her position for reasons other than what would be expected…

Original Name: Adam Blakely.

Military Designation: X-9-7-7-1, 'Conduit'.

Gender: Male.

Age: 25.

Background: Conduit was a nobody before he became infected - just an everyday German student, postgraduate, who'd settled in America after finishing his studies. An ordinary bloke holding down a normal, poorly paying job. He shared an crampt apartment with his boyfriend (Jack) and their cat (Widgits), and things looked set to stay that way until the two of them broke up or Jack finished his University course and they moved to a bigger place. It wasn't a great life, but it was a functioning life - and it was his life.

The Infection shook his world upside down; bye-bye boyfriend, bye-bye cat and dead-end job and apartment and Frakking Manhattan.

Bye-bye world.

His memories from the start of the outbreak are a hazy non-linear mess - he has a pain in the top of his head that's making it hard to think. He remembers fighting and killing, and laughing - and the sound of (his brethren?) the Infected charging along the streets. Men in long white coats and padded rooms - and what a man's spine tastes like. The exact sound a soldier head makes when you step on his face hard enough to push it through the back of his skull.

And hugging a pleading female police officer who had a family, who had a Jack at home (why was that name so familiar?), grinning afterwards when she thanked him tearfully for letting her live.

And an escape - the last few days a little clearer than his life before them, but still jumbled up, still a badly connected collection of loose thoughts. If only that jagged pain in his skull was a little softer he might be able to put all the bits of himself back together...

... he had a name... he thinks.

Appearance: In addition to the picture Conduit is wearing a tarnished black leather jacket that's too long for him at the waist, a heavy duty garment that looks like it's seen a lot of wear, tear and love over the years.

http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/4329/psionicata.jpg

Conduit is a small 'man', standing only 5'3" tall, but his squat form is powerfully muscled and incredibly well developed. His upper body is particularly impressive - wide strong shoulders moving down into a heavily built set of pectorals. His huge back supports broad arms bulging with iron hard muscle, ending in enormous shovel sized hands with long bulky digits. Little of the rest of the Infected Runner can be seen - covered as it is with the tattered remnants of an off-white straight jacket - but the multitude of uneven holes in the stained fabric reveal the rest of his short physique to be of similarly impressive dimensions.

Conduit's wide face is as disturbing as his thick skin is pale, and utterly dominated by a set of huge and bulging bloodshot eyes, crazy and unblinking and staring at everything at once. His bald scalp, hairless like the rest of his big body, does much to show off the unusual shape of his lumpy head, drawing attention to the short broken section of dark steel pipe sticking out through his resilient skull. The wound is still bleeding slowly, the thick blood trickling down onto Conduit's massive jaws. His steel crushing maw is (thankfully) prevented from biting by an inhibiter surgically grafted to his skull by the Gentek scientists who once experimented on him.

Position: Infected Leader.

Notable Skills: None. Other than Conduit's Infected nature he has nothing on his side. Before he mutated he was just a woefully average human bar his notably deep bass voice.

Infected Abilities: Conduit possesses the usual increased physical capabilities of the Infected, but several abilities mark him apart from the masses of the 'regular' Infected:

Armour: X-9-7-7-1 possesses a kind of highly effective 'armour' in the form of incredibly resilient skin and the dense musculature that supports it. The extremely tough flesh is further augmented by his potent rapid regeneration, the rejuvenative process quickly repairing damage he suffers. The combination of the two renders Conduit mostly immune to anything less potent than high calibre bullets - a fact well documented in the classified files on him.

Catalyst Conduit: The ability from which Conduit derives his name, this poorly understood phenomenon was first encountered in this Infected. In addition to the normal Runners' ability to control the surrounding 'basic' Infected, X-9-7-7-1 also generates an incredibly powerful form of 'energised field' that seems to be tuned into some wavelength that especially benefits the Infection. Infected under Conduit's control are not just smarter than their brethren, they are also notably more resilient and heal at a markedly increased rate. The same energy that seems to empower the Infected is also degenerative to nearby normal humans - causing headaches, irritability and nosebleeds after even short periods of exposure.

The exact area effected by the power is unknown, but is assumed to blanket only a 'fairly' close range. Gentek is extremely interested in the radiation generated by X-9-7-7-1 because of the possibility of altering it for use as a broadcasted weapon against the Infection, and was the reason for his prolonged detention and study.

Weapons / Gear: Conduit has very little on him, just the remnants of the old torn straight jacket that he was wearing when he escaped two days ago. He managed to steal a old jacket from a pedestrian as he escaped, and although it's too long, it fits his muscular body snuggly. His only other possession is the communications gear that he stole from the soldiers he murdered. He is still confused and sluggish from the after-effects of the Gentek drugs he was kept on to (unsuccessfully) suppress his aggression, the reason he has not yet attempted to find more suitable clothing to act as a disguise.

Other Details: Conduit has a beautiful bass singing voice - an engaging and melodic vocal talent that has lost none of its attractiveness despite his Infection. His favourite colour is black, his preferred food is pepperoni pizza and his favourite genre of music is trance / electronica. He has a phobic fear of moths, brought on by a childhood incident in which he was locked in a small closet full of the insects by his brother (now deceased). He's experiencing memory loss from the piece of twisted steel lodged in his brain, a wound inflicted during his escape from the Gentek building.

(Start when you are ready)

Gentek entry - July 1st 2019

The infection continues to consume the world. It appears the boy we captured can lead us to the others. "Myles" experiment 20 has been a successful experiment. He displays Mercer-like abilities, we have infused his DNA to contract a blade and have successfully connected his mind to a machine. When on missions I will transfer my mind into his body and control him and his powers to lead the Black Ops into their mission. There is a routine mission to New York City today, it is a helicopter jump, only the elite are requested. It is in hopes of recovering the plans for the cure from the Gentek building. May God speed.

A flash of lightning off in the distance. The rumble of thunder. Perfect cover for murder. His screams were futile. No one heard him. And no one ever will...unless, of course, I choose to let him be heard. Seth smiled. He liked killing those he thought were responsible.

Sure, this man had only driven a truck. But it was the truck that Seth had been trapped in. He may or may not have known what was to happen. But he was guilty by association, right? He sat down in the man's recliner, kicking back and enjoying the peace and quiet he had.

"Is this what it is to be truly insane? When your only excuse for murder is because you felt like it? Or maybe the true sign is talking to oneself." He stood up, and gazed in the mirror over a bureau. "Then again..." His face morphed first, his body following suit. "How do I know I'm really me? I could be someone else..."

He chuckled darkly. "Enough of this stupid banter. I have more targets in this area..." He shook of the droplets of water from an umbrella...in fact, the very umbrella the man had brought in only a few moments before his death.

"My name...is Walter. I'm a high-up security officer who drives an armored truck." He shook his head. "Well...I am until I feel like being someone else..." A smirk. "On with the show..."

((Hmm...with the disguise, am I limited to the last consumed, or everyone I've ever consumed?))

Myles sat on the humming machine flying above the city listening to his thoughts. The little voice in the back of his head pounded through his frontal lobes. "Get in position Myles." The tube in the back of his head shot fluid up his spine and he moved attentively against his will. His eyes turned blue as he threw on his goggles and buckled the parachute across his chest. Thousands of miles away, through a transfer device on the helicopter, Dr. Sands stood in his blue suit, sensors transferring his movements into the brain of Myles. Myles could feel the voice soothing him, though he wasn't buying it. Using his telepathy he could tell this was not a situation he could escape. He pressed a button on the panel and the door to the Helicopter slid open. Looking down at the city he gulped in reflex and then moved towards the door. Down below he could see the infected lighting up, giant mounds of them lighting like Christmas tree lights.

Before he could process the data Dr. Sands sent it to the headquarters and through their to the Black Ops troops, the Satellite lit up the city in the posts where Myles was looking, marking the targets and the severely infected regions. Myles felt the headache come quicker than he had ever before. The fluid flowing to his brain sent the thoughts he had to the back of his brain and moved his body into motion. He was thrown from the plane by Dr. Sands and went crashing down at the ground, right on top of the Gentek Skyscraper, where an entire nest of Infected lay below. The helicopter soared overhead, heading the way it had come, several other Black Ops agents hit the ground around him. He moved toward the edge and gazed over the city, noting a large number of infected had already started their paths toward them. A vibration shook the building below and Myles had to fight to keep his balance.

"Spread out" came the voice in his head as Dr. Sands shouted orders to his Black Ops. "There's a large infected leader down there. Blocking the way to the research department."

It was a very slow, uneventful day for the Marine faction that Sean was assigned to. After completing their morning drill, they set out to search the outer limits of the city on their never ending search for rogue Infected. Sean was sitting in a makeshift shelter, reminiscing on his memories.

Sean's memories. Not his.

Zen focused on who he was and what he was trying to accomplish, though it was getting harder and harder to keep a solid hold on himself. After becoming Sean and remaining in his form with minimal breaks, he started thinking and acting like Sean - which was necessary in the beginning to survive. He was afraid that he was settling into whatever kind of life Sean had.

A bugle call alerted him from his trance and he stepped outside of the bio-degradable tent that was serving as a shelter from the sun to face whatever it was that was attacking the unit.

He was in the centre of the vast city, listening to the booming thunder, knowing that it heralded the coming of the great storm. His jumbled thoughts were clearer today than they had been yesterday, and the day before that, sluggishly re-ordering themselves into a coherent whole. Slowly crystallising once more into a rigid lattice of thought and memory. It felt good - it felt right. It was like slipping into an old and well worn set of clothes, except it was a person he was putting on again.

It was himself he was donning.

The cool rain started abruptly, and the concept of time reasserted itself into his broken mind. Conduit was not sure how long he had crouched immobile, high above the city, but now the storm was beginning. He was perched a couple of dozen stories up, a pale and squat gargoyle, listening to the torrential downpour fall upon the blighted metropolis. He opened his big eyes - his crazy eyes - gazing down upon the city that was theirs - was his? And as his eyelids peeled back so did the boundaries that enclosed his mind. His thoughts built up as energy pulsed within his dense cerebral matter, rippling away from him as his entire head began to glow with a blinding azure radiance. There was a moment of singularity, of purity, of just being a separate entity alone in his own head.

And then his communion with the Infection began.

His consciousness flowed out of him, an irresistible corona of energy, a wave of tangible mental force. The psychic noise slammed into the Infected about him, surging into their mutated skulls, drowning out the chorus of thoughts and instincts for whole blocks around him. Mutant after grotesque mutant fell under his mental sway, joining with him as he overcame them, tiny insignificant gears in the great design. His energy became their energy, powering their bodies into overdrive, strengthening and uplifting them.

For the Conduit was with them and within them.

He turned the gaze of the Infection towards the Gentek Building, that stark black sword that pierced the roiling stormy sky, and hundreds of eyes looked upon the blocky construct. There were soldiers there, and their flying machines, and this would not do. Not when he was so close to his answers - his memories. They would be put down as had others before them been eliminated. The Infection moved with a single purpose, a horde beginning to swarm towards the building, unnaturally silent in their shambling advance. The pounding of feet as they charged was the only noise made by their movement, their Infected throats quiet, their eyes glowing with a fierce azure coloured light.

For the Conduit was with them and within them.

((Felt compelled to hurl some Infected and a storm your way. :P ))

Sky wandered through the streets of New York. It was getting late, yet he didn’t feel tired at all. Another side affect of my powers…or just adrenaline? He thought to himself as his feet moved, not of his own accord. He had sworn revenge on the people who had done this to him, and to his family, yet he didn’t know the first thing about finding them. As he wandered through the city, the hour getting later and later, he happened to turn a corner and literally bump into a horde of infected zombie like creatures, in front of a massive building with a helicopter hovering above. What the hell? He asked himself; not being bothered by the creatures that recognized him as a Proto X; besides it seemed they were concentrated upon their task. I wonder… Sky thought to himself, as he shrugged and leant against a wall to see what the infected would do. I have nothing better to do… He reasoned with himself.

It had stopped raining. Where am I now? He looked up, sifting through the memories of the poor Gentek driver, and looked to his surroundings. He was in an infected area. Hm...so this is where the old building is, then? No one was near him. That was good. Or is it?

His keen eyes scanned the horizon, namely down the long street that led towards the massive Gentek building. "The infected are heading that way..." That was when he felt the pulse of energy, a psychic wave that was both commanding, yet distant. It wanted him to attack...

"Nah, I think I'm good for now..." He smirked, looking into the sky. So another leader has erupted from the ashes of the Hive. He couldn't help but laugh, drawing out the S&W M500 from it's holster on his bag. "This, my dear friend, is one of the most powerful handguns ever created..." He crouched down, focusing on his destination. "Time to see how much you enjoy getting a slug from it!" He jumped into the air.

Jumping was the wrong term. He more or less rocketed into the air, clearing a few of the smaller buildings with ease. His aim was slightly off, but that didn't matter. It would take a few jumps to reach the center of the city.

Where the Conduit was waiting.

Wow... just wow.

Steven stared at locked cell doors without any emotion in his face. Only his mind was going against the face and was full of worries. After all, last thing he remembered was some smoke in his home, then everything started to go blur in front of his eyes, until he fell on floor, unconscious. But now he was awake and trying to figure out why he had been kidnapped.

He got on his feet and slowly approached the tightly shut cell doors. He stopped in front of them and after few seconds went insane - he started to kick, hit with his fists doors. "Hey! LET ME OUT OF HERE!" He angrily yelled but it seemed no one was around to hear his anger. He stopped to make nonsense and turned around to go and sit down.

Suddenly, his both arms started to pulse in enormous pain. Steven gave out almost unnatural yell from the pain he had and started to feel dizzy. He thought he is going to pass out from this pain and just again will be sleeping. But few moments later, out of his both hands charged out blades. Pain was burning every inch of his arms. "What the...?" He said, looking at blades from his hands. He turned again around and slashed the blades against the doors. Doors were hit out of hinges and hit against the wall in front of Steven's cell, triggering on loud alarm and "Prisoner is escaping." Words through whole building. I dot like this but this is my only chance to freedom. Steven ran out of his cell and down the corridor.

Myles felt the rhythmic thumping as his feet jogged down the stairs. The power to the building looked like it had been shut off years ago, which he knew was possible. The first outbreak was over 10 years ago. Dr. Sands barked orders at the Black Ops as they fought off hordes of infected. Bullets flew through the air all around him as he rocketed down the stairs turning left at the bottom and slamming into the door with a "thud." Myles stepped backwards and tried the handle. A soft "clunk" reassured him the door was locked. Myles could feel the voice in the back of his head almost gleefully shouting. "Field-test." Myles felt the skin in his right arm boil as a vine of blood twisted in the air and mixed with his darkening skin. The veins in his arm exploded outward and pumped with an almost iron chemical. When his arm was completely solid Dr. Sands stopped to admire his work. "Good, Myles, you've mastered the transformation in just 3 hours. It takes years to perfect such a thing."

By his own free will he lashed out against the door and sent it flying forward in two pieces. He pressed a chip on his arm and notified the Black Ops of his position. "Inside Gentek pharmacy labs." Echoes of correspondence filled hid earpiece. A spurt of liquid chemical filled his scalp and tunneled through his body. Dr. Sands regained control. "Note to future use: subject is more resistant when using abilities." Myles may not have understood it then but he had found a way out of Gentek's reaches. He walked through the rows of science equipment, taking note of where key items would be and found a computer at the far-end, just underneath a shelf lined with test-tubes. Myles glided over and pressed two buttons on his wrist communication. Grabbing the cord below he plugged it into his communicator and the monitor lit up. Grabbing and extended cord from the communicator he plugged it into the USB port and watched as the information copied itself to the communicator. Dr. Sands quickly transferred it from the Satellite to his Control Panel and sent information to all his underlings.

Myles unplugged the cords and made his way to the entrance of the room but a creek sent his heightened senses spinning. Myles' eyes lit up as he turned, burning a hole in the wall he could see a massive infected just above him in the building. It's hands were above it's head which could only mean one thing. Myles shot his mind to his senses, but they did not connect. Just as the hands were brought down, smashing through the ceiling and on top of him, he regained his control and rolled out of the way. The huge infected jumped down from the ceiling and sent a rumble through the building. Myles brushed himself off as Dr. Sands tried to pump more liquid to his brain. However, during the short incident the tube had been punctured and the liquid shot from the tank on his back onto the ruble nearby. Myles stood shakily, it had been awhile since he had this much control. He flexed his muscles through his arms and legs, tightening them so that they could feel working condition and smirked. "Bring it on big boy!"

Steven just kept yelling from the pain he had in his both hands and the anger, which rose from within him. When I will find that son of a... His way to escape was blocked by soldiers, staying in the middle of corridor, with guns risen and ready to make a sieve out of Steven. For some seconds Steven stopped but the pulsing in his hands became faster and pain seemed to spread now through his whole body.

Like being under the control of his anger and burning pain, Steven charged into the soldiers making his blades go nuts and slash through them. Blood was spilling around and soon enough, Steven himself was covered in blood. Bodies cut in peaces lied all around him but that didn't stop the pain.

"MAKE IT STOP!!!!" Steven yelled loud and heard his own voice echoing into corridors. Pain stopped, Burning feeling disappeared and Steven was feeling much better. Blades disappeared the way they came - went back into arms. Steven didn't stop and show his relief. He just continued his way past labs and holes into walls. Something besides me is in this building. But I don't care. I just hope whoever is here, he will kick some butt. I have to find escape.

Sky was surprised as out of the helicopter jumped a dozen soldiers down onto the building. Before another helicopter joined the first one, and the same thing happened again. Sky was happy to watch, until soldiers started coming out along the road and started firing at the infected in front of him. Sky, knew he was special but he didn’t know if he would be able to survive a bullet wound. “Get down!” a Black ops member yelled out, pushing Sky to the ground. “Watch out for the infected!” He yelled again. Sky almost laughed out loud, this guy thought he was a person. He couldn’t be more wrong… Sky thought to himself, as three blades slid out of his knuckles and punched into the Black Ops member, killing him instantly. Sky laughed then, as he felt the power course through his veins; however it was soon cut off as a bullet almost took of his ear. He turned around and saw five other soldiers coming towards him. Bring it on! Sky thought as he charged towards the Black Ops group.

“Unit 1 has arrived.”

He let his gaze follow that of his partner’s, his sharp ears catching the hovering sound of a helicopter back behind the cluster of wearing buildings. The soft sound of a landing, of feet thumping onto the rough concrete, was audible as the transfer of weight shifted in the aircraft.
Their minute ear devices were able to reach the noise that grew and divided into the labyrinth of streets from afar.

“Mori. Agent Mori?”

He turned around to face her. Why was that so strange to hear? It was what he had been called for his entire time as a Black Op member, and he had been addressed by his last name only for as long as he could remember. But for some reason, on her lips, it didn’t work.
“We need to reach the grouping before this storm reaches the north side of the city.”

The sleek, raven-haired girl peered at him, away from her radar wrist device momentarily. He gave her a steady nod, and looked to the skies himself.

“We should be able to within the next time lapse,” he stated.
There was no doubting her abilities at this point; she was obviously just as capable as him. Everything was within reach now that they had joined forces.
The strikingly similar set began away from their post in the safe zone and headed deep into the ruined city. Their silent tracks led them to the danger, the others, and straight to the omniscient dark clouds looming overhead.

No Proto X was safe.

Steven now was without breath from all this running around building, looking for exit. In his way, he had slaughtered already many soldiers, which wanted to hurt Steven, or take back to prison. Though, there was mess all around the building, seeing that some group of other soldiers have arrived to fight soldiers in this building... Argh, who are good and who are bad guys? I have to idea!!!! He knew bad guys were those, who kept Steven in prison and made hi some kind freak with blades in his hands. But on the other hand, second set of Soldiers wanted Steven now to be dead.

His path was at the end. He had gotten himself in front of Dead End and there was no way out. At least, I have no pain anymore. And after few minutes, Steven was corned by bunch of soldiers. Everyone as one aimed at him, ready to shoot.

Steven saw a window nearby him. He had no idea at which floor he is but if he is not going to do anything, he will be dead after seconds, or in best chance minutes. Soldiers seem understood Steven's plan to jump through window, so their leader said: "Don't move!" Steven looked at him and grinned. "Who are you, my mom?" Steven said and charged through window, while soldiers were trying to shoot him on his way...

Riley eyed the Proto X Leader from atop the large building, peering over at the huge amount of infected following after not too far away. "Hmph." He grunted, squinting his eyes to get a clearer image. His eyesight was getting worse by ever birthday, and he guessed he'd be fully blind by an older age. He sighed, letting out a warm puff of carbon dioxide to flow with the rest of the low winds breezing to and fro.

He gripped the handle of his long black sword tighter, feeling a rush of anger flow throughout his veins. The ninteen year old hopped down to the broken balcony a couple flights below to get a better view of the horde coming towards the lab, and he eyed the other Black Ops who were ready for combat at any time, as he was. He just preferred his own ways of fighting, as everyone else knew him to do. They did in fact take him in at such an early age for his peculiar yet evasive abilites and procedures. He pulled his black scarf higher, shrouding his nose and mouth in case of any saliva or blood from the infected to come near, which was the last thing on his list to occur. He then waited for any orders as he played with his crystal that hung on his neck, twirling it around slowly.

Myles slid the blade across a row of shelves, creating a painful sound for the ape-like creature. The fluid had finished it's squirting and he had still control over enough of his mind. He ran forward, keeping his blade pressed against the ground to hold that sound. The infected swatted at him, sending him flying backwards into a nearby table. Using his quick thinking he was able to spin out of the way as a large chair was thrown in his direction. He could now here the infected outside making their way up the stairs. Resorting to using his communicator he pressed a button. "Hello Black Ops" he spoke shakily, as more debris was thrown after him. "Myles, here I am trapped between a horde leader and a bunch of other infected. I am requesting cover-fire from anyone available."

Dr. Sands looked down at his readings, Myles was acting of his own accord, but he was still completing the mission. He quickly scanned through his options. Finally coming to a decision he pressed his own communicator and sent the radio-signal out to all available troops. "Black Ops, this is Dr. Sands, I am overriding protocol and requesting that you adhere to Myles' request, he is acting of his own accord but he is acting toward the mission objective, please grant him cover-fire." Dr. Sands removed his finger from the button and sat back sighing. "Controlling people is such a complicate thing." Myles felt the thought surge at the back of his head. Dr. Sands, can you hear me? Dr. Sands felt the though in the back of his mind as well. "Myles?"

Somehow the mind-link had worked so well it linked both participants and it was now allowing their thoughts to be shared without the active device. "Myles if you can hear me, don't stop fighting, the most important thing is your safety." Myles half-laughed but emerged from his hiding place, shrugging of his tense muscles and running forward. Using his movement detection he sidestepped and sent his blade slashing through the arm of the infected. It fell to the ground and green puss flew out in all directions. The infected roared and slapped him aside once again throwing him out of the way. "You've messed with the wrong kid."

He then charged forward, slicing of the head of the first Black Ops member, before stabbing his left knuckle blades into the body of the second. He then spun around in a circle, clearing the area of any other soldiers. “OH YEAH!” he howled out into the night, as the adrenaline from his body added to the excitement of the fight. Spotting an opening in the infected; he quickly charged towards the building, hoping to find a better fight then these regular Black Ops members.

Steven only now realized that he was falling down from 20th floor or higher. He also knew he have no possibilities to survive. Only, he had forgotten about his power - Blades. Steven still didn't know who or why he is like this but he knew one thing - he can use this new power to protect himself. Except - when he had no power, he didn't need to protect himself.

He summoned his blades, trying to ignore the pain, which started again and ran through whole body like electricity. He charged his left hand blades into building's wall, letting himself slow down his speed of falling. None of this would't happen, if I didn't decide to go to that stupid party...

His legs safely touched the ground. Thank you god... He turned around and for a little while looked at building, from which he just escaped. Gentech...I will remember this. Without further looking around, Steven ran away...

The storm had come to the city. Rain falling down, dark sky thundering in the Heavens above, a torrential downpour starting to lash down at the broken ground.

He was moving forward with the Infection - and he was the Infection - charging along with the mutants at his sides. They sprinted towards the Gentek building, legs trashing the earth with the boom of hundreds of falling feet, covering the ground fast. They - he - surged like a wave, broken tarmac and pavement slabs crushed beneath the Horde - pounding along like a runaway freighttrain. His control was complete, his communion total, the Infection his tool - his mind. He wasn't hard to spot - a squatly muscled little thing running along near the front of the crowd, a sunburst of azure energy crowning his oddly shaped head.

A Conduit.

He was surrounded by a dozen Hunters, like an honour guard, the huge galloping beasts keeping pace with him as they burst into the courtyard at the bottom of the 'tech building. The main surge of the Infection fanned out, flowing forward to ravage the soldiers - some suceeding, others cut down by hails of bullet fire. It was harder to put them down than it had been before, the energies of the conduit within them, bolstering them. One mind, one unity.

One divinity.

The massive Infected Leader turned off towards the left, hurtling along in a crouching run. He was heading for the base of the towering spire, for the lobby doors, for an entry point. There was a deafening crunch of destruction as he and his entourage barreled through the reinforced glass and steel in a swarm of bullets, four of the gargantuan sentries breaking off to engage the military behind them.

Their sacrifice was necessary. Their sacrifice was irrelevant.

Long had the military and the Gentek attacked the Infection, and slowed the spread, and the time had come for the Gentek building to fall. They broke into the stairwell and began their descent into the bowels of the building, towards the lowest of the basement levels. The building was connected to New York, to the pulse and flow of the old supply lines of the great metropolis, and these dessicated blood vessels of mortar and stone would serve as a channel for the Infection into the very heart of the cure.

The Conduit would open the sewage works into the building, the old access panels and hatches long forgotten, and the horde would swarm up the building. The resistance would be purged, attacked from all sides, forced to withdraw or die under a wave of blessed mutation.

Soon the lightning would strike.

Soon the purge would end.

Myles wiped the sweat away from his face. He could hear the chorus of bullets flying form just outside the computer lab. He let his arm burn as the blade appeared and barred his teeth at the pain. He charged forward, trying to end this battle quickly and hit on target, knocking the head off the creature. His vision told him there were more infected just outside the door and he ran to it, kicking it down. He sliced his way to the stair and flew up them quickly. Once on the roof he waited for the Black Ops to load themselves inside the helicopter. "I have the program let's go." A wave of infected crossed onto the roof, and bullets rained down on them. The helicopter lifted off the ground and into the air, disappearing into the horizon. Behind them the building came roaring down to the ground, flooded from the inside. The infected stared blankly up at them. Myles felt his heart sink.

Gentek entry - July 16th 2009

Myles returned with the research, our work on the cure is once again progressing. The Gentek building is lost along with all the rest of the research but this proves a good start. The Black Ops will now continue their hunt for the Proto X's.

P.S. Myles and I have a strange mind-link phenomenon appearing, he and I can hear each others thoughts. It is because of this link that I have decided against the mind program and have allowed him to join the Black Ops. They are en route to Chicago, where signs of a Proto X have been spotted.

Sky immerged from the Gentak building a few minutes as the final helicopter flew off. He had charged into the building looking for a good fight, or more Black Ops members to kill, but had found nothing. “Damn it!” He swore as he punched the ground. He had missed his opportunity to find out more about the organization that had made him like this and murdered his family. Now where to? He wondered to himself, as he made his way back to where he was living now.

Sky slowly approached the house that had been abandoned weeks ago, that he was now living in. He slowly opened the door with a key that he had found underneath a rock in front of the door. The door swung open slowly, as Sky walked in cautiously; his battle with the Black Ops, making him more cautious.
