Ok so I'm writing a book and I need a little help with this one word i'm stuck on, my main character explains to someone that he's going to help a city, by killing a monster that a tyrant sent there and hopefully recruit people to destroy that tyrant... I know there's a word, I keep thinking missionary but that's for a church kind of deal and then a mercenary are those that work for money, I'm not sure if I'd go for Vigilante either, if anyone can help me find that word I'm looking for it help me so oo oo ooooooo much

..... Crusader? No, that's not quite right. He's not a demigod either. I can't think of any one word. If anything, a mix of words such as a vigilante crusader. If it's a sacrificial fight (he's most likely going to die) martyr, perhaps?

it probably can't be put into one certain word heh, but i do like the idea of vigilante crusader hehe, has a ring to it :P
thanks for the help you two *yep i noticed your helix, that's not the word i'm looking for as they won't be plundering for loot that'd mean they'd have to fight villagers too ^^; they are simply trying to save them.*
