As someone that is actually a fan of Naruto and doesn't let the negatively affect his enjoyment of what he reads; I wonder though why people anticipate the next chapter or episode of Naruto so eagerly? I could say the same with bleach but i digress.
Where as Chrono would just put it down Naruto and call it crap; i see it as average with sparks of genius. For example, a lot of the big fights like Sakura vs Sayori, Itachi vs Sasuke, Rock Lee vs Gaara, Deidra vs Sasuke, and the village in the midst fights (the ones with zabuza) were awesome. Yet, a lot of the other fights are like meh. A good example would be when around the time Azuma goes bye bye (semi spoiler i assume but i don't really care) and they go after the zombi twins.
Of course, not every fight is going to be a winner or epic yet it should have be satisfying. Maybe it's because i'm a jaded comic book fan who enjoys colors backing up his action sequences but i think it has nothing at all to do with it. It's the fact that there is so much filler even within the fight sequences that cheapen the impact of it. And that's not even figuring in the useless word sounds effect. Something i never pay attention to really in comic books but manga it's just a waste of space.
To me, Naruto has a lot of wasted panels (not as bad as bleach though) that would have been just better used to enlarge one bigger panel for more dramatic effect. Which brings me to a comic book term called "Better in trades." It basically means that something is better read all at once. I strong believer of this for both bleach and naruto with taking huge breaks with both. For example, after i caught up with bleach, i waited 4 months to let it get ahead and started reading again. I'm aBOUT to go back to waiting but i have to see what i aizen does for right now. Naruto; it's been a little over year and a half. I think i'm going to wait another month XD.
Other than that, maybe it is a rant based on person who both enjoys both worlds of comic books and manga that he sees a problem with how main title shounen titles are. Not that every issue of Uncanny X-men, Astonishing X-Men, X-Force, X- factor, X-Men First Class, X-Men Legacy ( = P I bet you didn't know there were so many X- Men series huh?) or even Justice League of America is good.
If anything, they are a lot more scruntize than manga because comic book critics actually criticize the artist drawing and call them out on doing a bad job. Something a bit unheard of in manga where it's usually just the story that gets the bad rap. Since most manga fall in few house manga styles (it makes sense, the main artist in manga rarely draw 22 pages but rather have a team of people help them) and it's not a distinguishing factor.
Idk, it's that both bleach and Naruto i think suffer from stiff imagery and poor flow. As for the animes of both series..... Anyone can do better than that watch that. Ask Chrono :P

It was ok in the beginning, the fights where quick and well done, the story was somewhat interesting and the characters held me kinda interested but it has gone way down hill. The manga is turning into basically DBZ, but not even good dbz.
The anime(Well shippuden the original Naruto was good up until the 100 filler episodes) is filled with nothing but awful fillers, horribly pacing, the worst gar moments in anime, static characters, melodramatic plot and is just overall bad.

Honestly, I don't know what the big deal is about, I don't like Naruto at all, it's not that great. I have to say the same thing about Bleach too.

Yoyocool, what happened to your creativity? :(
You used to think up threads on your own, but now you're copying Chrono's threads D:
Lol, anyway, yeah, like The Other Promise said...
Oh god, not another thread like this.
In my opinion, Naruto is not *quotes Chrono* "crap". But then again, I myself can't say that. *I* don't think Naruto is crap. Other people on this form also don't think Naruto is crap. While other people, besides the people who don't think Naruto is crap, hate Naruto. Think of it as the movie "He's Just Not That In to You" except it's "You're Just Not That In to it".
You have your opinions, we have ours. Some people are narutards, like me, who know a lot about that particular anime/manga/movie series and/or they just like watching/reading it and enjoy it. Some people are "Anti-Narutards" or "Naruhaters" who hate the series Naruto, or they just don't like it that much.
I find Naruto interesting because:
I'm curious about what new techniques they come up with
I'm curious about what happens next
I particularly enjoy watching/reading the fighting in Naruto and I like the characters, like the Current Raikage who'll do anything to beat his opponent, even give up his own limb (spoiler alert)
I just enjoy it. Is that so wrong? Is it so wrong that I enjoy watching/reading an anime/manga series?
And other reasons.
It's getting tiring of seeing the Naruto series get bashed. I don't look out for every bad part in the anime/manga series and go "HAHA THIS SERIES SUCKS".
In my opinion, there aren't that many bad parts in the Naruto anime/manga series. But of course, that's *MY* opinion, and I can't force my opinion on others.
So yes, Naruto IS all that great an action series, manga AND anime wise, yes, I'm a Narutard, and yes, I don't regret being a Narutard.

I don't watch naruto much. I don't even know what you guys mean by "fillers".
And its kinda cheesy at times, the fights are epic, but the movies don't make sense. In the series, people have to settle for scrolls and kunai, rather than swiss knifes and paper and other modern technology, yet in one movie there was a guy playing a GameBoy Color and another a bunch of men were killed brutally when alot of kunai were shot at them from a machine.
Does that make sense?

Fillers are basically boring parts of series which are just to fill into the show. Like when a fight's about to break out, and two people are exchanging words and talking to each other before fighting each other, and they're talking to each other...in one whole episode.
That would be considered a filler.
Also, the movies at times don't make sense, as they don't really fit into a specific part of the series. As for the swiss knives and paper and other modern technology, well, they should have machines and Game Boys, if they're smart enough to develop stuff like special seals, they can do that stuff to. The series focuses around a ninja world. Would you see swiss knives (To what you said about paper, actually, paper is installed into the series. Paper bombs, remember? It's also used for scrolls, seals, et cetera et cetera, anyways...) swiss knives don't fit into a ninja world, and for ninja combat, a kunai is better than a swiss knife. And it looks cooler, lol.

If sasuke is your favorite character than naruto is somewhat good.
theres just to many plot holes an to many 1 dimensional characters
the series isnt that fulfilling.
i would comepare it to other shonen but its just pointless to do so
I dont look for problems for the series it just sets itself up for it

Here's a list from top of my head:
What are the anime cliches you hate most?
Why does chrono watch bad anime?
What do you think of Yuri?
What do you prefer Comic books or Manga?
The What do you prefer is actually i think the earliest of these kinds of threads and it's my first one of these types. It was posted from all the way back in May.
ANd unlike what i do or chrono says; it was totally uninfluenced by him. I just like to post questions to just discuss about stuff.

I think people just spend too much time and energy reading/watching the series. There's a lot of under read things i can think off the type of my head that deserves that people would find really appealing like Naruto but be more satisfying.

Chrono You would like that one since you like Girlfriends.

Idk, i just find it sad that other series get neglected and that people line up to read Naruto. i will finish Naruto i promise you that but i have no motivition to keep with the story. One of the reasons i will finish btw is because i like to know the end of the story after spending so much of my time and energy reading up to the sasuke vs Itachi fight. Tbh, that should have been the beginning of the end where the mangaka should have started the end game with the Akatsuki. Rather than waste a year plodding further long with Sasuke getting revenge against the leaf village.
I find Naruto interesting because:
I'm curious about what new techniques they come up with

And other reasons.
Actually, i disapprove of the new techniques or at least the revealing of a unknown techniques in clinch situation. I feel it cheapens a fight and that a fight can (and often feels better to me) if they go into the fight with the same knowledge as the reader does. Like Captain America; He basically only have peak human endurance and can throw a shield but his fight against the incredible hulk i must say is ranks up there with Naruto. I won't say that it tops Naruto fights. He doesn't bring anything new to the table except his wits and a lot of heart.
Now, i do also believe strongly in team fights being awesome. Sakura vs Saori is a good example of that. It doesn't have to be one on one to be a great excellent fight. AND IN FACT, sakura doesn't use any super techniques or bring anything new to the table. Saori did reveal a lot of stuff but it's justified by his reputation as being a dangerous indiviual. If he didn't have all that backing him up; then we would just though he was full of hot air and not all that much.
It's that Naruto just really goes with the DBZ vibe of having fighters take turns taking on one guy. Of course not all the DBZ fights are like that but tell me that you can honestly remember a time that in a single battle that there were more than one person at play?
As for the second thing; its okay to be curious but i have to ask why did you really care to know after sasuke goes all emo and decides he will not do his brother Itachi will in the end? There wasn't a lot going for the story at that point in my opinion. But i digress.
I'm just saying that why do people really feel the need to keep track of naruto on a weekly basis? 22 pages of manga goes too fast and doesn't really sink in that well by itself.
As for enjoying it; i do too but why do people rank it as a great series or even just a action series?

Like that Bottle of Awesome web-comic you told me about that I never heard of, and I particularly enjoyed, in fact, I even recommended it to a friend and he enjoyed it, too.
But that's just it, those comics/manga are under-read for a reason.
It's not that people don't want to read them, they're just not advertised that well. I mean sure, search on www.onemanga.com or other great manga sites and anime/web-comic/comic sites, and you'll find some pretty damn good manga/web-comics/comics.
But that's just it. You have to search for them, and when you find a series as well-known as Naruto, as well-advertised as Naruto, it's just difficult to miss it. If those other series would be as well-known and as well-advertised as Naruto a lot more people would be watching/reading them. But, unfortunately, they're not as well-advertised as they should be, and thus, they're under-read.
In other terms, you're addicted to it, lol. You've put so much time and effort, you can't, or you just don't feel like stopping reading the story, you've gotten used to it, face it, YOU HAVE AN ADDICTION! XD
And yeah, it's called build-up, and currently, according to the manga, Sasuke's going to be getting revenge against the entire world, lol.
Well how else are they supposed to show their abilities. They certainly wouldn't go berserk and use their jutsus randomly without it being a fight, unless of course it would be training, which happens a lot of the time in the series, like when Naruto trains to master his chakra affinity of wind. Stuff like that.
And the techniques often fit the character. Like the Fifth Mizukage's Solvent Release, which she uses water-based chakra and another type of chakra to create mud which can be a quick solve, and can be used for something like blocking an exit.
There have been multiple team fights. Just not the way you'd think. Like the eight man squad vs. Tobi, and Kakashi's squad and the rest of the people that were with him vs. the crystal style jutsu user and her group. It's not a group fight like Sakura and the Granny vs. Sasori, but it is a group against a group fighting.
As for the second thing; its okay to be curious but i have to ask why did you really care to know after sasuke goes all emo and decides he will not do his brother Itachi will in the end? There wasn't a lot going for the story at that point in my opinion. But i digress.
Because of the fights, the action, the interesting conversations, curiousity, multiple reasons.
I'm just saying that why do people really feel the need to keep track of naruto on a weekly basis? 22 pages of manga goes too fast and doesn't really sink in that well by itself.
Well I don't want to miss it, although I'm not too eager, I'm pretty eager for new episodes/chapters in the naruto anime/manga. It doesn't go too fast to me and it sinks well for me.
As for enjoying it; i do too but why do people rank it as a great series or even just a action series?
They rank it as a great series, because it's interesting, it has good action, good fights, interesting conversations, they're curious and waiting in suspense of what will happen in the next chapter. Plain and simple, because it's interesting.

I'm curious about what new techniques they come up with
They really aren't that original, that is the problem with the techniques in Naruto, not that there are a lot of "different" techniques the main characters can do.
I'm curious about what happens next
Anyone would be curious as to the fact that it is still on going, this probably doesn't need to be said.
I particularly enjoy watching/reading the fighting in Naruto and I like the characters, like the Current Raikage who'll do anything to beat his opponent, even give up his own limb (spoiler alert)
Spoiler indeed, but the fights in Naruto aren't good, even these new fights in the chapter are bad.
I guess Sasuke has so much Charka now that he can basically do anything. Seriously when the creator doesn't even follow his own rules or make limits it gets pretty ridiculous.
I just enjoy it. Is that so wrong? Is it so wrong that I enjoy watching/reading an anime/manga series?
No nothing wrong with it, but if you can't identify the parts of it that are bad then you are staying ignorant. People can like what ever they want, but they must not close their minds off to constructive criticism.
I will state my opinion on this one last time. Naruto has incredibly static characters, they go through no good development at all. The plot become quickly uninteresting and un original. The fights are long and drawn out, to many awful "gar" moments throughout the entire series.

Wow, fillers sound awesome [/end of sarcasm]
and when I said paper, I was thinking printer paper or something idk, so you can forget that
Since I haven't seen too much naruto, I never see machines etc. in the series, if that explains why my post was so stupid

And no fillers are fillers. They are extra part's added to the story that weren't in the original manga. Two people talking to each other for one whole episode isn't necessarily all filler, more half filler to make the series longer.
The 100 episodes after Naruto and Sasuke's fight are all filler, so you can look at those for example.
And the movies aren't canon, they don't follow the original story line. This is usually how anime movies go, they follow there own story line. Look at the Dragon Ball Z movies for an example.

To be fair, Bleach's current filler arc has had some pretty above-average animation throughout. Probably a side-effect of them not having to save the budget for the Fade To Black movie anymore.

True, but when they decide to be cheap, then the animation gets really terrible. I question why Toei Animation do a good job with stuff like One Piece [though their adaptation of the Clannad movie was terrible in animation-wise]
Anyway, leave the Naruto topics now. It needs a rest x_x
