Knight of Ruin

i went to this movie today. from what i had seen in the trailers, it just looked like a cheap copy of movies like resident evil and 28 days later. i think those kinds of movies are overdone.
thankfully it wasn't really all about survival. the movie takes place in the year 2100 something or 2500 something. earth has sent out a ship called Elyssium to a planet called Tannis, the only known planet in outer space with life. The crew aboard the ship later learns about how they are the only humans remaining in the known universe, because earth has been destroyed (it wasn't too clear about this, may be a nuclear catastrophe). The ship has been sent to Tannis with thousands of people in it, and thousands of species native to earth, a Noa's ark.
the movie it self all takes place aboard the ship. the protagonists are trying to survive the mutated humans that run around the ship killing any one they see, while trying to reach the ships main reactor to reset it because it's about to explode. the filmed focuses in to factors: the psychological and survival factors. i liked the psychological side alot. the protagonists (there wasn't many) try to keep their mind in one piece, the knowledge that all of the human race is nearly extint and of the fact that they may soon die off completely, lost in the infinite sea of stars trapped with countless mutants, almost gets to all of them.
anyways, i think it's a great movie is you are having a boring day. it's not much of a horror film.
