Since we were mostly in agreement within the RPG team that the original system wasn't working out, here's the new points-based system I've developed. I'll try not to make it too complicated but hopefully it should give people a better idea of how they can improve the RPGs they submit.
Bringing an RPG For Grading
As before, people will submit their RPG for grading in the usual thread. A grader who notices an RPG has been posted for assessment will take it into the RPG section and it will be looked over by three graders. The result of the assessment will be the average grade given by these three graders- each score given will be added together and divided by three to create this average.
Grading an RPG
Each grader will give a point score out of ten (10) for each of these categories-
- Spelling/grammar/punctuation etc. Basically the standard of English we expect from good RPers.
- Adherence to the form we've put out for you to fill in. I don't think it's unreasonable to award a zero for people not filling junk in right.
- Story
- Worlds/locales
- Characters/Character sheets
- Interaction. Basically outlining what the RPers actually have to do to participate, whether that be mission style sections, dramaz, anything like that. How rich is the RPG in terms of things to do.
Acceptance/Denial
When the scores and commentary are complete, the person who originally presented the RPG for grading will post back in the acceptance thread with either Accepted or Declined and a list of the average scores for each category.
Feedback
If you wish to receive feedback about the scores you've been given and any hints and tips for improvement, this can be done by any of the three graders involved in their RPG. Feedback must be requested by PM. You can also PM myself or Roxas1994 and we will check who graded your RPG and request that one of them give you feedback.
Any questions? Come to myself or Roxas1994, or anybody else on the RPG team. Thankyou.
