Did anybody enjoy that movie? I didn't, It had no plot to ANY of the final fantasies and didn't even follow the main idea of final fantasy.

I never saw but my friends told it has nothing to do with final fantasy at all. So it worth it to watch just my opinion.

You're right, it didn't really have anything to do with the Final Fantasy games, but it was a Final Fantasy in essence, and a very enjoyable film in my opinion. It was a good movie if you have an open enough mindset I guess, lol.

I've seen it. It's just Independence Day with a Final Fantasy twist to it. Not too bad, but not exactly the best movie ever made, either.

I hated this film, it was so dull and cliché. The only thing I liked were the graphics, but even they weren't exactly ground-breaking. Seemed to me as though Square Enix just wanted to make some easy money. They knew fans would go out and see the film because it carried the Final Fantasy name, but I see this as a bad thing when it hardly related to the games. Too many expectations but they weren't met.
For the time, the graphics were incredible, but they seem quite outdated now (for obvious reasons). The first time I saw it, I thought it was awesome, but I've never though that since unfortunately. It had some Final Fantasy elements, such as the idea of people returning to the planet when they died, and they tried to keep a romance element but didn't make it work too well. Nobuo Uematsu didn't even do the music! Advent Children was agreeably much better.

I thought this movie was amazing for its time. I thought the graphics were QUITE life-like. I actually made the misconception that they were real people.
I liked it I suppose. But I hardly remember much of the story. :/

Yes I agree Riku, the graphics were good for it's time. But now, not so much.

I liked it-it wasn't anything what you might expect it to be. It wasn't anything like Advent Children or anything, but it kept to the Final Fantasy........spirit...........I guess you could say that. lol

The day I bought it, I watched it. Sold it 20 minutes after watching it. It made me mad, I was expecting a movie about one or some of the Final Fantasies. but no, it was completely random and full of poop.

They could have so made it better. Graphics and all were awesome. Now if they made the plot better then it could have been a very successful film.

If it was made after, lets say, Final Fantasy 3(american version) it would have been so much better.

For the time!? What are you talking about!? There yet no movie that have better graphics than this. Even Advent Children. If you look closely at the details, you would understand that there's still no movie with better graphics than FF:TSW.
Oooh, and althought you don't see any magic spells, giant swords and all, it is really final fantasy. Open your mind and try to understand the true story.

to, the thing that 'ruined' TSW is the FF tag. they hadnt needed that. the movie could easily have, and would have probably, done better if it stood alone without the FF tag they gave it.
i think it had a pretty decent plot (maybe even more so than advent children, to be perfectly honest)
the graphics...well, they're breathtaking if not even better.
voice acting...a more disputed feature, but personally, i thought it was ace.
in short, if they hadnt called it 'final fantasy and so forth' the movie could have gotten its own fanbase, separate from the final fantasy fans (who were, in many cases, disappointed in TSW since it didn't really fit into the typical FF mold.) if the movie has stood along with just the TSW title, it could easily have formed its own mythology and possibly been rewarded with a game or two (prequels, maybe?)
:)

About voice acting, the french version was very good. But I guess there's not much people who watched the french version of the movie :p It wasn't anything like the voices of animes (that are very bad.) The job of the actors was so good that it looked as if the characters were real people.
