The Characters' Parents

I think it be cool to see Sora's parents for the first time. I mean at the end of KH2 they do end up at the island. So there is an opportunity for the game designers to add them.

This has always been confusing for me anyway. In KH we hear Sora's mum call him so it sounds like they live on the island itself and yet here's Kairi's speech from KH2 making it sound like they only played over there. Thoughts?

I thought that DIZ was Kairi's father too for a while but then when i read one of the secret ansem reports he refers to her as one of the citizens of Radiant Gardens but doesnt mention anything about being his daughter

I think the point that was being made is that she came from Radiant Garden.

It is possible that her parentage might still come out in the series. Look at Star Wars and where that went. ;)

He's talking about Kairi. But I'm not sure whether it was Xehanort or DiZ who sent her, as this is from Secret Ansem Report #2:

That is when I discovered the "Ansem Reports." Though they bore my name, the only one I had written was number 0. Apparently he had gone on to pen numbers 1 through 8 himself. Yes---the first subject in my foolish experiments.

So who wrote 9 to 12? I have no idea. (I'm talking about 0-12 from the Japanese version which are 1-13 in the International versions.)

Question: Right then, we'd like to ask you some questions about that improved story. First, was Kairi coming to Destiny Islands fate, or was it just coincidence?

Nomura: It was both. It's not shown in this game, and it's a delicate issue whether I can call this a living setting, but anyway Kairi was sent out from Hollow Bastion by Ansem's hand. And the reason why Ansem sent her was to find the Keyblade. There was actually evidence of that in the jail at the End of the World. Ansem thought that girls who are princesses would be sure to make it to the place of the Keyblade. So Kairi coming to the place with Sora and Riku was both chance, and also fate.

Question: At the end, it seems Kairi is left in the Destiny Islands. Doesn't she return to Hollow Bastion?

Nomura: Right. I often get asked about this part, but it's actually explained in the game. The Princesses tell Sora that everyone will be able to return to the place they were when their world was destroyed. Kairi disappeared in the Destiny Islands, so she returned there. Because she was physically sent from Hollow Bastion to the Destiny Islands, so she never actually "disappeared" from there.

As for Kairi's parents, their generation is skipped as Kairi's Grandmother talks to her in the Library of Hollow Bastion.

(Kairi's Grandmother's story was a fairy tale according to Nomura and has no relevance.)

As for Kairi, i think her parents died because when you have that flashback in KH1, when RIku and Sora are going to look for the "monster" that growls in the cave [really the wind] one of the boys says, "a new girl arrived at the mayors office," why would she be brought there?

Hmmmm well if ya think about each one, Riku is Dark and a little mysterious (not to stereo-type) But He may not have had parents? Maybe they died etc. Sora is light-hearted and cheerful, he could had have a good kid-hood, even in the first one you hear his "mom". I dunno just my 2cents :)

They were definitely there in KH1 cause just before Sora got the keyblade, Riku said something along the lines of "we'll never get to see our parents again."

Well Riku definitely had parents. He says so in his quote on my signature.

But what I truly believe is that possibly his parents are behind all of this. Knowing Disney and all of their childish stories, maybe they'll be introduced in the next game as something way more relevant.

I think their family and friends will no worry about Sora because the only person that remember him from Destiny Island is Kairi but I think the will be worried about Riku because in KH2 in a scene, we saw Kairi talks with a girl, about a friend that Kairi didn't remember a lot and when Sora saw Leon for first time at Hallow Bastion in KH2 Leon tell Sora that now remember him

Its intresting to me thats there's no story or anything we know of Riku, their's nothing about his past and nothing was in the kh games that even bring's up Riku's past. All we know is whats going on in his current time in kh or kh2. So maybe will learn more about him in KH3.

If they do in KH3, then fine, I was wrong, but that is unlikely because if they were important at all, they would already have been mentioned and perhaps even seen in previous games. Maybe... just maybe, kingdom hearts 3 will start with the simple task of Sora finding ways to make his family remember that he IS family, remember how no one could remember him in KH2, maybe this is true about his family, and if this is true, then my theory about Chasers being Memory based enemies would be almost correct ^_^

well here's one theory of mine; all their parents, wot ever ones they have, [coz we only know 4 sure that sora has a mum] are those knights, the people in the armour. Okay so in terms of the bloodline of keyblade weilding Sora can coz one/both of his parents can, same with Riku's parents [coz well he could hav been the master, as seen in kh1, so his parents must hav pasted it on] and Kiari can only coz of her heart being intertwined with Sora's, so i'm not sure about her parents [& if they're alive]. So yeh they can weild the keyblade so they are those ppl in armor PLUS that pic seen earlier in the forum is proof for sora's dad [unless that's sora...]. Although i hav no idea wot they've been doing in the past games... i think they were all taken to a world [or seperate worlds//or one of the dimensions light/dark/inbetween] & while they were there they all had their keyblades & fought some other bosses etc & r looking for their kids/while savign the worlds too - so in kh3 all the journey's combine along with the battles! hmmm well i guess we'll find out when the game comes out!!

But we've already defeated them haven't we? We already know who the 13 members are and since Sora's nobody was apart of them, his parents too would be kind of silly. His mum is on Destiny Islands and we might never see her in the game. His dad is more of a mystery, but I doubt he'll be a bad guy in future games. It would be too cliché.

What if Sora's father was the first to wield a keyblade? Then he did something that shook all universe that made him a part of the legend. When Sora mentions his name, Donald, Mickey, and Goofy gonna freak out and they keep it a secert to Sora. Then at the very end of the KH series, I hope it goes over KH3, Donald and Goof gonna explain a li'l some-some when they meet his dad and his father takes out his legendary keblade. Then Mickey says "your father is the source of all this" or something and emo cutscene... Whatever, then Sora--Cha-ching!! Keyblade! Sora gonna fight his dad in a "right here, right now" situation... What a cliche!!! WAHAHAHA!! XD Then unexpectingly, Sora is now a KIA... Now Donald and Goof gonna search for new wielder and its KH all ove again!!! WAHAHAHAHA!!! Nothing special, just a little stuff popped in my mind...
