I wish the Mods could HELP ME OUT HERE, YOU KNOW... Maybe if this gets big enough give me my own section... A minor title... >_> Okay. Here is where you'll learn the basics. You'll practice general posting. So forth.

While one of the sections I am more use to I still don't mind the practice.
General -In my Book- includes but is not limited to storefront manner, travel, small talk, NPC interaction, etc.
So I'm guessing we'll cover a few of these topics?

Yes, we will. I figured I'd go hardcore basics first. You know, post entitlements and moding.
First thing is first obviously. In most scenario's the first poster will be responsible for the setting and such.
The second, the opponent's, will likely be the first post of the actual fight.
The third, if not continuing the fight, will start it because the opponent decided to wait.
So on and so forth. Following? Good. Now lets go on to Moding.
Moding can be broken into three catagories -
Auto-Dodging/Blocking
Auto-Hitting/Casting
Auto-Knowledge
------
Auto-Dodging is the practice of dodging a blow completely and utterly or unbelievably countering it. An example.
"Jason hugged his brother tightly and drove a knife into his back. Jacob vanished as a puff of smoke though, avoiding the blade."
Or something like... "Jason swung the greatsword in a broad arc, a short few feet from Jacob. Jacob miraculously pulled his heavy shield up and took the full force of the blow without budging."
Yeah. Lets see how these should be done if you do want to dodge.
"Jason hugged his brother tightly and drove a knife into his back. Jacob felt the twinge of the the blade pierce him and he grappled with Jason. He reached for his throat and strangled before finally pushing him off. He bled but he would live!"
"Jason swung the greatsword in a broad arc, a few short feet from Jacob. Jacob fell back to avoid the blade and landed on his backside. The blade still graised his arm and tore through the defensive leathers. He took a deep gourge but he would live another day! Jason had put too much weight in and fell forward -- " See, there's an opportunity there! Strike!
For attackers, DON'T OVERSTEP YOURSELVES. Don't act godly. Be realistic. In this case a greatsword weighs a loooot. Without the body to smash, he would be forced forward. IN general it's called GODMODING. Thats just being incredulously powerful.
Defending folks... When you dodge, unless it's purely clean and cut-run take some minor wound. It's just fair and progresses the fight and your character. If he's a long-used and hardened veteran with many scars he'll be more skilled then some newbie lordling's son who cant even hold a rapier!
K? Any questions sooo faaar?

One, I'll give you credit for your thoroughness in teaching strategy. I fear you might overload yourself though with the number of classes.
Two, you might want to save the battle comments and port if over to your fight thread for maximum usiblity.
(Whenever I start a "How To" thread I keep a 'General Tips' at the beginning.)[It is part of my nature to be helpful albiet it often comes across as know-it-all, as thus, do not be offended by my commentary]

Thanks, again. It's getting late and I spent most of my energy trying to argue with this one imbecile... All the same I feel resolved in a desire to help people improve... Partially so I can have some fun roleplaying.

I have not tried roleplaying here, but I have done it many times in other forums. In fact I was one of their top game creators. The problem was that I valued number crunching in a sense, players were allowed to do what they wished, but the numbers stopped the godmodding. Unfortunately, this daunted many new players into joining my games.

Thats the sin that befell Battle.net and it's once-flourishing community of avid writers... So sad... Meh, how I miss some of them. It was improving from an archaic level that really led to the downfall.

My best game was actually fairly 'Complicated' the first post went on for around 6000 words with charts, character classes, and lists. It was the longest game running in the RPG board (Still holds the record), the problem was it was deleted by a revamp to the forums, and the players had dispersed by then.

Ah. Well let me pull up some links... -Dusts them off.- Here we go...
Old Thorny started this... http://tristram.wikispaces.com/

Thorn's history was always [ and occasionally is ] disputable. But he is, or was, seniormost.

Oh and here are my two favorite sites... Ran by my good Aussie friend Annalee... AKA Devin Townsend...

It may come back to life. It always has. But it's become really... desolate... And I've seen it go out before. This is beyond compare.

It is always heart wrenching to be 'The Last Man Standing' when you are part of an RP. At the moment I am trying to RP some more but not as much as I used to due to time restrictions I did not have in the past. Even so, I hope to bring out the KH RPGs I was developing for the other board.

I've gotten over the saddened feeling. Now I'm just apprehensive for some kind of interaction. Hence this. Well, they would be welcome because God knows I can't teach for ****.

"Value is not in the material, but in the effort itself. As long as one tries their hardest, the world will be better for it."
Better to attempt and fail than never to have attempted at all...
Even if this tanks, it is good to know that their is an effort made. Keep trying Asphorune!
