leaving section

i have an idea maybe there should be a leaving section or maybe a sticky in the general chat section where people can post if they are leaving instead of making their own thread about it.

Well, I could see one big thread becoming quite a mess. As for having its own section, I'm not sure I want to make a huge deal out of people leaving. Bad for forum identity, ya know?

I don't think that is called for. If they want to leave then that is there freedom. If they want to post that they are leaving that is fine to but I don't think we need a new area for it.

Introductions can be used for both of that.

If people are leaving, they wouldn't really care where they post in. Hence, if you have just one thread for it, nor will they post in there.

As DragoonKain mentioned, it portrays the forum's image more poorly as it depicts the fact that so many people are leaving that it actually requires a section on its on.

People who leave for whatever reason, make a thread because they either want someone to respond to the thread and so they feel like they were essentially a part of this forum. Posting in a single thread will not give the "leaver" the same satisfaction as this. Furthermore, if they didn't want the attention they would just leave, rather than posting anything.
