a music fourm could do well

i had a thought in my head that maybe just maybe we can put something on the fourm something like music i dont know i mean it would be cool something like the the music fourm that way members can have alot more to talk about,express there feelings with songs,and do like a contest with songs and vote which song is better like that web family thread called night club clan it got me this idea after all

Actually no it's not. This has been covered by a previous thread and Kain made it quite clear at the time that we would not incorporate sound into the forum for a number of reasons.

1) Cost - It would be too expensive to incorporate

2) Personal Choice - everyone's taste in music is very independant and most people listen to their own selections whilst on the forum anyway. Nobody wants to be made to listen to music they don't like.

Often people post their youtube selections on a thread and we have had parties in the past using that method quite successfully, so there are ways of incorporating music without it being part of the forum.

There could be a music forum to discuss music, and share music via YouTube or something. The forum will never incorporate sound. For right now, discussing music can be done in the General Forum, I think... are there enough people here that want to talk about music to warrant its own section?

Adding music to a forum doesn't work. I've tried implenting music onto a forum before and even though people liked it, after a while it got annoying because the song restarts after every new link, hence I had to remove only just after putting it on.

Plus, the cost thing and people listening to their own music which Aerith and DragoonKain has mentioned.

You must not have looked around because people have posted youtube url's throughout the general forum. Im an admin on aonther site and sound was ruled out from the start so very unlikeily if it will happen

Specifically, General Chat. I always thought that's where the threads concerning Entertainment (movies, music, books, ect...) go. I don't really think we need a forum just for music, most people enjoy music, but not everyone makes a thread about it.

I agree with Twilight Blade, creating a section of the forum just for music is sort of a waste, what will it be next?? A movie section, a hobby section, or a school section??? What I think is working at its best, is members creating threads that discuss their favorite music, and having other members continue to post on those threads that way it eliminates the need for a "Music Forum" to exist! Therefore, just leave it how it is in the General Forum, and every thing will turn out just fine! ;)
