I agree with vanilla bear. Why would Kingdom Hearts 2 end with Sora, Kairi and Riku getting a letter from King Mickey and us not finding out what happens next? I've seen a good theory on the main characters being able to go back and forth, and I think it kinda makes sense...the way he wrote it. I'll try and find the site where I saw it.

maybe when normua was talking about past and future he was talking about flaskback of the past that ends up happenning in the future, like deja vu

i think that hidden ending was a flashback to something in the past anyways.. but for the actual time period of the game, i believe it will be set right after kh2

It shoudl take place after kh2 but in the same time period. Flashbacks to the past can happen but they should be cutscenes and not playable levels.

it doesn't necessarily have to be in the future to continue. i think it'll be in the past, so that the game can be further expanded, like Nomura said.

It has to be in the past. In a cutscene in KH2: FM they had Xemnas walk into a room and Aqua's armor was there and that was when Marluxia joined the Organization. So it HAS To be in the past...
