I know a couple of members would love the idea. Exodyne would, I think, and a couple of members who were bickering the 'Religion, Politics and Abortion' threads. Like me, I would LOVE the chance to even be in it. Let alone be the coordinator.

Wow, thank you. Alot, and yeah Kyptic is a very good foe. XP I think me and her would be great for the part. But it's not my decision, it's the mod's and Admin's. Even if they team get's made, which I hope. And if so, lol you all would be seeing alot more of me.

I know, I typed him by accident. But when it comes down to tooth and nail, this would be something I would dedicate most of my time to. I love debating and proving a point. Lol I asked Jessixx if she would do it, but she said she's not a very good debater. XD

What is the purpose of this Debate Team? Over say... simply creating a thread for debating? What would the debate team do that people who just wanted to debate couldn't?

Do we have anybody who knows debating well enough to be able to guide debates to ensure that people are debating correctly? As in, not making logical fallacies, etc? Is that what the purpose of the team is? If the team is just a GROUP of people who want to debate things, then I fail to see why that needs to be a staff-sponsored team.

More info, such as a team abstract, would be required before we can truly give this thought.

See I thought that through:

The purpose: The purpose of the 'Debate Team' would be to discuss the worlds current issues. And as RKM said a couple of people would be good to coordinate. I have a feeling Riku would like to do that, I would and so would Kryptic. One of us could be, keeping the team in line and/or giving them topics. The news always has something debateable on, which means the Debate Team Coordinators would have to watch the news at an extent for some time. But they coordinators will have to discuss the topics they found and decide which would be more suitable and would hold alonger debate. Each debate will have a Deadline and when that did line ends, the people will vote. When they find a topic that would hold a debate or such they would announce it. And at the end of the debate, the other members who were not in the debate could vote, on whos argument was more relevant and gave better reasons. The whole main purpose would be to keep the forum updated on todays current topics and hardships. Which in my opinion the team would flame up during Voting time lol.

The teams are here to coordinate things for the other members to do. If we had a debate team, it's not the team that would be doing the debating, it's the members.

So here is my proposal. How about we put a regular debate topic as an event under the entertainment team? What we can do is have rounds. I've seen some great debaters on here and if each of them head up a team, we can hold a competition between the teams.

If this is the sort of thing you mean, then I'll set up the topics. It will need to wait until 2nd week in June as I have a very busy next 2 weeks. So what do you say?

thats a good i dea but please dont do politics im kinda well known by my friends for going really hard when its something i have a strong opinion of

One of the things on the slate for future Updates is a new reward/award system. I haven't found anything out about it yet, but am working on it.

I certainly would love to be involved in a debate team, as I am quite skilled at debating mostly any topic, and being as reasonable as possible to avoid logical fallacies as much as possible when I argue.

I've had my experience of arguing religion, science, politics and other related topics and issues. I certainly want to see this happen.

I give my full support and want to be involved as much as possible in any way that I can help.
