Why doesn't Kairi take a more active role in the Game?

I am seriously bummed out about Kairi's lack of characterization. I mean honestly, she is a wimp. Riku is out there on the dark side of things keeping his eyes covered because they gave him away as still having a heart. What does Kairi do? She stays at home, kicking no ones butt and wishing the others were with her doing the same. I just don't get it. Are all Japanesse creators so sexist. At least in anime the girls play some major roll, or at least kick a little butt. I seriously hope the next game has Kairi as playing a bigger roll.;)

They can't be that sexist. They had Maleficent and Seven Princesses of Heart included in the games.

Also, she does "kick a little butt" when she fights the Heartless lol.

Maybe the reason she doesnt kick that much butt is beacause she's not a very good fighter? Both Sora and Riku use there keyblades but she doesnt really have a weapon. So perhaps the creators wanted her role in the game to just be Sora's love interest, and maybe they wanted to keep her away from violence??:o I wish she had a bigger role in it though!! I agree that Japanese creators can be sexist sometimes...but maybe they didn't mean for it to be sexiest?

what was she supposed to do? ya know. kairi shouldnt be pushed into a fighting aspect of it, she could kinda be like just one of those helpless "damsels in distress".

Well on that note, I'm curious. Kairi wields some sort of weapon in The World That Never Was when she's fighting heartless. I haven't seen the video in a while, but isn't it some sort of keyblade? I think that the game should put a little more attention into that. After all, she was part of Sora in KH1 so she should have some of his "key wielding abilities" right?

I think in three they should let u play as sora most of the time but then let you play as kairi and riku too or at least let them in your party cause we know they can fight

Ok.... well still im just curious on that because think about it. Not many people are able to wield a keyblade. (Only Sora, Riku, Mickey, Roxas who is sorta Sora anyway, and Kairi) However the game only shows it as a small clip. Maybe it's just me but i think the game should focus in on that more because after all anyone who has used the keyblade has destroyed their oppenent. (Riku only lost because he was facing another keyblade...)

Kairi couldn't remember who they were for most of the time, and had no idea that Riku was in the dark realm fighting or even who Sora was.
She also wasn't used to fighting because she spent most of KH1 unconscious or under lockdown on Destiny Island. Ther'es a chance that she'll have her own weapon and a role in the fighting in the next game, but there's also a chance that she'll be captured by the armored guys to use as bait for Sora, once again spending most of the game uncoscious.

Yea but Sora didn't know where Riku was either, and it's not so much her fault that she forgot who Sora was. I mean c'mon, everyone did including Leon and the others. Kairi has always been the damsel in distress in both games but who knows maybe she'll take a (somewhat...) more active role next time. But either way anyone who wields a keyblade does great things.

You know Kairi is belittled, and overshadowed in the game. I still do not give up hope that she will be a real main character, and even show Sora and Riku a thing or two. She is pure, I don't know if I could really comprehend her as anything else, I mean could you really picture her out there slaying heartless? I mean she is the princess of Destiny Islands after all. I think that they underestimate her as a character though. I mean she could be so much more. She is a great pull to the female gamers out there, but what more could she honestly do? I don't think that I could ever play as her in the game, it would just be too weird.-Sarah;)

I totally agree sarahphina. I hate the fact that Nomura turned Kairi into this cliché'd girl that always needs someone to save her ass. And I know it's cause she's a typical girl. But she was alright in KH1. Ok, In TT and Axel took her away, you'd think that she'd have at least kicked him where it hurts or ran away from him, but no, she just happilly let herself get kidnapped. Kairi is so weak, and was hardly in the game. It would have been alright if she had a more active role in KH2.

Hey, that is such bull. I mean its not like this game is exactly gored out. So she would be killing a few heartless, fighting for her friends. I don't think that it would affect her purity, she just wouldn't be playing the poor powerless role that she is currently playing.-Sarahphina;)
