The downtime between messages is far too long and very inconvenient for people who have a lot of messages to send.
Could someone please do something about this? Its getting to the point where its making me sorta mad.

But, couldn't the Admins just snap their fingers and change it? They managed to change the PM box size.

Uhm... a few things (such as downtime) are the fault of the folks over at vBulliten and other places. Which (duh) is out of our hands.

I can change it, yes, but this is to prevent ACTUAL spamming. You know, from people who want to send you pictures of porn sites and links to sexual aids.

The 60 second limit is...because of that?

(And, couldn't they send that stuff anyway. I mean, a longer time limit won't actually make a difference. They can still send it.)

The difference is, given a total period of time, delta. Period of time between messages: z, and number of sent messages, x, dividing z in half will increase x by a multiple of 2 over the period of time.

So, right now it's 60 seconds. In an hour, an advertiser could PM a porn link to 300 people. If I shortened it to 30 seconds, the same advertiser could PM 600 people. 15 seconds? 1200 people. See where I'm going with this? We want to minimize the effect that spammers could have. Does this create a little inconvenience for the members? Sure. But PMs were never intended to be IMs in the first place.

Anyway, if you don't like the 60 second PM downtime, get MSN/AIM/Yahoo IM.

Not everyone has MSN, but some people do. Wait, what the hell are we talking about? lol!
