The Era of the new Design Team

[Riku-Sora]

Jessixx, Sora, Kota, and myself are what makes up the design team as of now. (Dusk will return when he can. Dont ask about it please!) But that is about to change. It is time to find some fresh recruits for this team. You can tell who is part of the Design Team since when you look at them on the forum they are the people in Purple.

The main focus as of now is to create signatures and avatars for people that request but more things will be added as I decide on what to do next. Avatars and signatures still have to follow rules limit on the site.

If you steal the designs of the ones who created it then you will be suspended no questions asked. What I mean is if you say it is yours when it is someone else's.

- Have moderate/extensive (or above) designing skills in Photoshop, GIMP, or whichever program you use.

- Know how to keep things organized for the members. That way you're both setting an example and making sure no one is disappointed.

- Have good grammar, punctuation, and spelling--this is so everyone will understand you. We want people talking this way: "And that is how things work around here", instead of: "lol i no rite"

- Tell us what you're good at so we know what to expect of you! This will eliminate the factor and excuse of "but I didn't know that", etc...

-(New Rule) Don't join my group just for the heck of it. You got to put forth your effort when you join. I had a certain person who will remain nameless who joined and did noting. You will be kicked out if this happens.

-(New Rule) Dont spam this thread up like yall did the last one. I dont want to have to close this thread now do I? Hold your talk elsewhere. I am going to be kinda strict on this. I don't want to hear your problems like how you are going to join or thinking about it. Ask all questions in the Artwork area. That is what it is there for. Why you should be considered: Because I have improved greatly from my first works, and am improving all the time. Another point is that the design team can see what I can do, mainly from the design competition, and maybe viewing my gallery or requests that I have made.One Final point is that I did come second on the design competition, so I think it is only natural that I now apply here to try and get on the team which is what all the entrants of the competition were aiming for.

How much time you can dedicate: As I am not at school this whole summer I can dedicate an unhealthy amount of time to the forum. I am on here most days anyway, so I can always be attentively helping the members requesting or with other problems that they may have

Experience: Well I have only been using Photoshop for a few months now, but you all have seen my work. I make sigs not only for requests, but just to pass time and to try out different techniques etc.

Why you should be considered: Well, its my passion to work with graphics, if i can do that for kingdom hearts where the disadvantage, i love to work with art, i love kingdom hearts and i love this forum. I am quite good with 3d graphics, and i am fine with photshop and stuff, i have all the required software to work with. My cousin is studying graphics designing so i am goin to learn from her as well. I want to do something for this website, and i think this would be the best.

How much time you can dedicate: (About) Well during school day i can give most of the weekend, ut now i have summer holidays coming so i can be on 6 hrs 7 days a week.

Experience: I Started with paint like 5 years ago, then i went to photoshop in 2003 late 04 - i have been doing gfx and requests for years now, also battles for a very long time !

Lighting isn't to hard, as your resistance tag is VERY bright, you may want to add some touch ups to it with shadow. ;)

ok lass, so tell me what i can do to make em better, i made them large coz i thought that the size was 500x250 thats why i made em big. I got the depth part and rikutwilight told me about the depth i will fix that stuff now working on more sigs i can prov emyself don't worry.

That pretty big.

Shoot for something around, 250x100. That's a good size.

As for the tags. Their okay, you need to practice before you get accepted. ALOT

I like the second one hidden leaf. You are definitely getting better with the lighting :)

One tip:

If you dont already, use gradient maps eg orange-purple and then set that to soft light, that makes a good colour effect.

Another tip:

Dont always create backgrounds from the ground up. Use pictures of various things, such as forests, paintings, buildings IN ADDITION TO USING BACKGROUNDS YOU HAVE MADE, and then set them to overlay, screen, or soft light. (or just whatever looks good)

Leaf and Reiyyan you are both improving quickly, but I still feel that you both aren't quite ready for taking requests. I suggest both of you find some tutorials and try to learn as much from them as quickly as you can, as opposed to posting similiar sigs every day.

That one is still as flat as the rest. I like the image you used, as thats quite unseen, but use what you learnt from the sephiroth sig, and then transfer that into your new sigs.

Go to the artwork section and then read some of the tutorials that are posted there

Not to mention, a lot of the sigs are too tall for the Design Team sigs. Keep in mind we have to keep sig images reasonably small (vertically) to fit within the site specifications and allow members to add text and things to personalize their sigs. So far only that one Sephi image makes the cut.

i made like the best one yesterday but kept my computer on and fell asleep, still had photoshop running for some reason when i woke up to save it, it wouldn't let me open photoshop - its not fair it was good too. making one the same when i get out of college !

why you should be considered:i should be considered because i have alot i mean alot of experience with photoshop.i create my own avatars and signatures.they're all original and made by me using photoshop.i have alot of creativity also. i am also very good at hand drawing photos.i do take art lessons.thats all for me.

how much time can you dedicate:i can dedicate every single day. ill just not be on from 7:20-12.gotta work.but ill be right back on the computer soon as i get home.as you can see ill have alot of time on the computer

Yes that IS the limit but it is always a good idea to make your sigs smaller. Thats because users sometimes like to have more than one sig, or text. and if you're sigs are too big they will not be able to have those.

As an example I use the size 400x95
