I was wondering how everyone felt about the Secret Government using groups to spy on society illegally with hidden camera's. How do you feel about everyone's privacy? Do you disagree or agree on it?.

If it's illegal, then I don't agree with it, the government should be the last people to break the law..

If it is used for safty reasons I think but if they tap all our phones and put cameras everywhere I am against it and will kill them, heh.

I also believe that if it's illegal they shouldn't be going around tapping the phones, or putting hidden mini camera's in objects. They may feel like they are doing us a favor but I would have to disagree on what they are doing. I dislike being spied on especially go places where I don't want to be watched. I'm pretty sure that society doesn't want to be spied on when they are having their "personal lives". Twlight Keeper I doubt you will kill them since they will likely put you behind bars if you even try. Or worse they may give you the Death penalty. Speaking of which we still have that Debate in another part of the thread.
Anyways, back to the topic. I dislike the thought of having personal things go on with the whole society knowing about it. Or the other thing is that the government would use it against us to get us to confess to things we've never done before.
Like Khpwner said, don't do illegal things after making the laws yourself. It's completely unecessary to even bother with such things. Well the government thinks that they can get away with anything they choose to since they are in a "heirarchy". They have complete power over the people so it would see they would be trying to recreate a new [b]"Constitution of the USA", or " Constitution of Ammendment Rights". Every time I past the tv with my parents in the room, I hear some stupid law being made. It would appear that they are making new loop holes to get what they want. I'm not sure what it is, but it's probably something they will profit from.
I mean think of it, they are spending so much money on these gadgets or weapons that they have to bring it back to society so they raise taxes. They use all of societies secrets against everyone. They tap phones and put camera's up for their own good. Even if it was for protection I would have to disagree on it for everything above and my own personal reasons.
I mean you have to think about how the people in prison/jail feel they don't get any privacy. People like their privacy and just because they did something bad shouldn't give any of us any right to think lower of them. It's uncalled for. So what they did something bad because of something that happened in their personal life. I don't want to hear about their personal life or anyone else's it's completely unecessary.

You raise a good point Kryptik.
I agree with it on few points. If the person they are spying on has a line of a reputation of law breaking, or terrorism. Other than that, no, I do not believe in it. It's illegal to spy on someone, to an extent. And tapping phones, is no exception to that extent. I do believe, it should not be done what so ever.

Some people think that they are doing the right thing when they actually might be doing the complete opposite by illegally spying on someone. I do not believe that spying on people is right. I also do not believe that you have any right to.
The government might have power and the authority to give orders, but when it comes down to it all if the act of terrorism is made because of it and the tables are turned and the terrorist get their hands on personal information bad things could happen.

That's true, I feel bad for people in jail, and they yet again break the law by reading their mail and other things like that, but meh

People who break out of jail or prison will just get a worse punishment than before. I mean commiting a crime is one thing but when they go to jail or prison and break out to get revenge or do the same crime. There is going to be a price to commiting all these crimes. Maybe the proper questionI should be asking to the people on this forum is. "Do you think Spying is a crime"? Do you think Spying on society good or bad is a crime?. In all honesty ask yourself those questions.

Isn't it like you can't be trialed for the same crime?
Spying is a crime, but it depends on the case, like If we needed to spy on other countries, for, I don't know a specific rason, but for safety issues, then I would be alright with it, because it's for us, and it's not for some useless reason, but anything else, I would see it as a crime.

You are correct, it would be called Double Jeopardy I believe.
So in your views even if Spying is a crime and you are alright with it? So if some one spies on you while giving personal information to enemies in other countries or on the black market for their own good. You would be alright with that and let them get away with it because of supposed safety thats promised by the government or president. What if that info or personal info was given to them and sold off the black market then what? You still feel that it would be alright if it was to protect the rest of humanity?.

I think in a way it's ok, but the idea of it is honestly hilarious! The government gives a new term to stalking, and honestly I do believe it's a violation of privacy, there are many other ways to spy on people without going deep into their life, and turning it upside down. I forgot the name of this one story, but it's about a spy for the government, they accuse this one guy of illegally creating money, and transporting fake money between states...well this spy finds out the person he's following isn't the culprit, but in the long run he has made this guy who he followed lose his job, lose his family, all because of a false accusation.

Uhm, wait isn't that a movie with Will Smith, or it is something like that, on guy acciedentally records it because he videotapes geese by the lake and that is where they murdered them, and the officers chase him all around and he gets hit by a Fire Truck, but the bad things happen to Will Smith, like what you said he lost his job and everything, but all movies end with Happy Endings
Back onto the debate, what I meant didn't come out right I think, I meant it isn't ok for them to spy on their own people, but if they were spying on other countries for our countries benefits or safety, then I would be ok with it as long as it stays on the basis of a real issue, and it must be done to the other country, but for the American government to spy on the American people, it is wrong, and like I said, if it's illegal, then it shouldn't be done period.

So you are saying in your own words that you are amused by what they are doing to society?. There are plenty ways to spy but that doesn't make it right to do it in the first place.Well sometimes things like those happen, you just have to make sure the culprit you are following actually did the crime.

I also stated in my above post that even if it was for safety would you actually feel safe with them putting your info on the black market if thats what it meant to protect society?. I'm curious to know since I would not allow it unless it was only my Records that I don't care about. It's not there are 25 people looking like me to get away with a crime. I mean really who would want to be you and get away with a crime?. I'll say that my definition of "personal Infomation" would be what goes on day to day in your own room and with any of your bf/gf's and what you do thats not in front of society or school kind of personal information.

I'm not amused really, I just find it ironic that the government hides everything under wraps and instead of fixing their own crap they spy on other peoples crap, now that's just messy.

See, that is quite true my friend. If spying is illegal for citizens, then it must be illegal for higher powers. Just because they have more authority does not make it right for them to break the law. Any law at that.
So, Kryptik, I am with you. I think it is wrong, On many grounds.

I am against it, like I said in my first post, if it is illegal it should not even have been thought up, the government should be the last people to break the law, and in the midst of all this, them breaking the law, is basically in a way them stating that, "We are the government, we can do whatever we want then." Which will make american citizens go crazy if they ever tried to pull a dictator/king action.

Yeah I think anyone who dislikes being watched or harrased would hate to be spied on.. (Literally)

I'm just glad we are on the same page when we talk about these sort of things.
Any person following up on such plans to do anything illegal would be breaking the law.

What?! I so don`t like the idea of people spying on you. They`re probably watching all the websites too. Want to know how I know about that? Easy, look at the bottom portion of your computer screen. If you see the eyeball thing with the minus, the site is probably being watched. >_> <_< Don`t say anything you might regret later on any website.

You're most likely right about that. There are probably hackers around even if you don't know about them most of the time. You're right about saying things you might regret later in life. Anyways, I think most of us hates being watched just by anyone. I dislike being spied on behind my back when I'm using the computer. Then people get peeved at me for closing the door and complain about why I lock myself up in my room. XD..
